Description
Keep your above ground pool water clean, soft, and refreshing with the Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump by INTEX. The sand provides excellent water filtration as the 6-function control valve allows the pool owner to: filter, backwash and rinse, recirculate, drain and close the system. The Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump generates a pump flow rate of 2,800 gallons per hour, ideal for above ground pools. This pump requires virtually no maintenance except replacement of sand every 5 years.

This filter does not have a rinse setting-this means that after a backwash, (with no option to rinse) sediment from the sand flows back into your pool. To avoid this, we have to remove the that returns the water back into the pool and let the sediment out- it works but it’s a big hassle. Another issue is the drain cap (to remove for a backwash) is made of a cheap material and actually cracked after less than 2 months of use. This filter also includes cheap, plastic hose clamps that will break. With these inconveniences, the filter runs well and my water has been clean. I would never again purchase a sand filter that does not offer a rinse setting. Next time, I will do more research before making a purchase.

We purchased this pool pump in January 2023 and started using it in the middle of May. Yesterday, the motor started being extremely loud. Still filtering great, but I'm afraid it's going to bite the dust soon.

This was great for the first 90 days. Of course after it was not returnable it would just completely stop working! We are so devastated because we paid close to $500 for this and now its marked down to $299. You would think a pump like this would last longer than 90 days.

We were so excited to get a sand filter for our Intex pool. When I unboxed this filter I realized that it did not include all the parts necessary to hook it up to our pool. There was a tiny picture on the box indicating that a few key parts were "sold separately" so they weren't missing, just not included. Before I decided to return it, I looked on the Intex website to see how much all the additional parts would cost and most were out of stock. Very disappointed in Intex for selling something so incomplete.

Like many folks I purchased this pump to replace the weak pump that comes with most above ground pools because they just can't do the job. The difference in filtration, water movement, and power is obvious. The instructions are a bit vague, but eventually it comes together. I paired this pump with a hayward skimmer, and a auto pool cleaner.

Easy to assemble, used a YouTube video as guidance and it went together in no time. Been using for only about 5 days on my 15’x48” Intex pool but so far I’m impressed with the capabilities.

OMG!!! This is an amazing MUST HAVE if you have an Intex above ground pool. Those cheap mule pumps that Intex includes with their pools are worthless. Trust me, I was so afraid of not knowing how I was going to install this pump and if you have an Intex above ground pool it’s simply removing you’re old pump and sliding this pump in place. I used all the existing houses and connections which made the install a breeze. The way think I would get is a long backwash hose, which is not included. I also recommend watching installation videos on the internet for backwash and rinsing instructions. Way easier than reading that complex installation manual.

I USED to love Intex. Now I can't say enough BAD about it. We have had a pool all our lives (I am 68 years old). They NEVER have ANY spare parts, they don't answer the phone, they don't respond to emails. We bought an Intex pool several years ago. Later bought a sand filter pump. It lasted 3 years. (Could never get replacement parts or hoses). Then bought ANOTHER sand filter pump and right out of the box it has never worked correctly. No answers, no email answers, no one answers the phone. NO SPARE PARTS FOR ANYTHING - not even plastic feet!!!

Purchased this unit as an upgrade from my 12in Intex sand filter and to power my Intex pool cleaner. The unit moves a large volume of water and seems to do an adequate filtering job. Set up is easy but be sure you have the unit where you want it before you start setting it up as it requires 120 lbs. of sand.
