Intex Challenger Inflatable Kayak Set and Accessory Kit with Oars & Pump

Intex Challenger K1 is great for just getting out on the water and relaxing. It's fun to go exploring small lakes, places with no current and no wind. Paddling far out on a lake can become an exhausting struggle against the wind if weather changes. (Yeah, I did that and got away with it, wouldn't do it again.) This kayak is sorta midway between a real kayak and a pool toy. Paddling hard with this kayak is just frustrating. It changes direction with every stroke, and won't go fast. You won't be gliding along, perfecting your paddle stroke. So, don't paddle hard. Don't expect to go distance, just go far enough to enjoy relaxing on the water. Used this way, lotsa fun per dollar, a great bargain.

Once I did a dry-run in the front yard, the next setup was probably 10 minutes. There are only 2 sections to inflate. It did not lose any air during use. I recommend the fin if you can use it: we launched in super-shallow water so we did not use it, so it was difficult to keep moving straight. The instructions were limited, so it took a bit of figuring out the first time to understand how to get the seats oriented correctly and get the seat backs to stand-up properly. I was unclear where the round grommets on the paddles go but it didn't seem to matter. Don't lose the clear flexible ruler that is used to check for proper inflation level! I pumped too rigorously the first time and the housing of the inflator popped-off, but it was undamaged - just screw it back on. (see image) Avoid this by screwing it on tightly before pumping and don't pull too hard at the end of the up motion. This is not too heavy for an adult to carry a pretty significant distance. I wore the bag like a backpack, although I might widen the straps so it is more comfortable on the hike. It was a bit hard to get all the water out before deflating. All parts fit into the provided bag quite easily.

We bought one to try it out, and then bought a second (especially since the price is so reasonable). We’ve had a lot of fun and no issues. My husband and I both fit in one or me and my two kids (works really well since the front seat is optional). I was also able to carry it and go out by myself no problem. It’s so fast and easy to set them up! A bit of work to dry it and get it folded back up but definitely worth it for the overall convenience.

these kayaks are excellent. very well made and sturdy. I've used in a calm pond, a lagoon and in the ocean. super easy for one person to pump up and set up. only issue is I haven't quite figured out how to fully dry the inside before I return in to the storage bag but not an issue. love it!

Buying this kayak was the best decision. it's light enough for me to carry myself and folds up very compactly. Since buying the the first one, I bought two more for friends. I have not had any issues with it at all. I take it on a local lake. it's really a lot of fun and super relaxing.

Terrible kayak. I did not feel safe even taking this out on a small pond.

Quick to inflate, easy to maneuver, high quality

I ordered this Saturday, the expected delivery was ten days later. It arrived the very next day! It was incredibly easy to set up, inflated in just a few minutes, much faster than expected. The kayak felt safe, stable, and comfortable on the water. And light enough for me to carry on my own. I absolutely love it so far.

I bought these for Christmas for my family and the first day we tried to go out one of them wouldn't inflate. You could hear the air escaping around the valve. We were so excited to use them, and ended up so disappointed.

Got this for my husband who loves to fish, but doesn't own a truck! He loves that he can pack it up and take it anywhere. At 6' tall he's not cramped at all, and really has zero complaints. It takes maybe 2 min to inflate and he's off for hours. He delflates it for the drive home and then inflates it back up once back in the garage to let it fully dry out. I would 100% recommend for some fun recreational use!

Overall I was very impressed with the quality of this, my big draw back is the "seats". If you sit in the front seat you will have no back support of any kind which can kill the trip pretty quickly. The rear seat isn't as bad because you are supported by the body of the kayak itself. If I find a way to modify the front seat I'll have no complaints at all.

Bought for our 8 yo for his birthday and he can easily maneuver it in the water. My 6 ft husband also can use it and you can fit two smaller bodies in it easily as well. Have used it on 2 lakes and loved it!

Bought for a girls kayaking trip and it's awesome! I've always wanted a kayak but didn't want to get a roof rack nor did I want to try to find a place to store it. Love the fact that all you do is dry, deflate, and store. First time I blew it up was in the living room and while not even concentrating it took about 10 minutes until water ready. I sat in it for a few minutes and it was a little uncomfortable on dry land. Once in the water it was WAY more comfortable and roomie, you can sit in it for hours. I have got a pretty large amount of junk in my trunk (aka I am a wide load) and I fit very comfortably. With my big butt I don't like using the seat. With the seat it turns more into a sit on then a sit in. I believe it's better without the seat but that's just my opinion. Many reviews I watched/read (though other sources) mention the paddle is flimsy. It does not feel flimsy at all and paddles just fine so ignore that. Long story short I HIGHLY suggest this product.

Not sure if this is true of all inflatable kayaks, but it sits high on the water and wants to get tossed around in any amount of wind. Not as easy to maneuver as a non-inflatable kayak. For the price though, it's pretty decent

Small car & full garage means inflatable kayak is ideal. Easy to set up, we did it with the included air pump, and it was so much fun to paddle around! Your feet get a little squashed up front and if you're tall, it seems like it might be a little tricky getting all situated. The only other issue we had was undoing the very tight quick deflate caps. Bring something to help with this (big pliers?) and check it ahead of time because there's not a lot of room for fingers to get in there and loosen it. Very minor things like this knocked it down a star for me, but overall, well worth it! Watched a few YouTube videos for beginners and stayed close to the beach for practice. So much fun! And though the weight limit is 220 lbs, I'm pushing that limit and had no problems. I'm very pleased with this kayak, more than I was expecting, and can't wait to go out again asap.

Took this out for the first time this week as we just received it. It really isn't that fast, it's more like a canoe if anything, but it served it's purpose. I wish there was a better way for the boat to be sturdier in the middle, as we found that we were really unbalanced in the canoe, and for two adult people, it was a little squishy. This is perfect for one person with gear. The front seat was horrible, and at first I though it was just me, but my partner then switched with me on the way back, and he also had bad back aches after we came to shore. There really isn't much lower lumbar support or support at all for the front user. The back seat was perfect, as there was support in the back with the rear boat area. Overall, this was an OK product, but there certainly can be more improvements for comfort and stability..

We recently purchased this kayak. Very impressed with how easy it is to inflate. We've used it several times already.- both with only one person sitting in it and with two people. Our teenagers love it!!! Each time we are at the lake, we get lots of questions about it - everyone is jealous of our awesome kayak!!!!

I used this kayak all Memorial Day weekend and it worked great. It was easy to blow up and I love that it came with an air pump and paddles. I’m very happy with my purchase.

After using it once i discovered a small hole under the kayak, thank g i saw it before getting in the water. Don't buy it quality is crap.

We ordered the two person kayak so I could easily haul the boat by myself. I’ve been using it with my two children 5 and 2. So far we love it, easy to inflate and deflate. Everything fits back in The carry bag. Would definitely recommend for casual use.
