The Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Mount comes with a black dashboard pad, that should be used when mounting to the dashboard (you don't need it if you are mounting to glass). It creates a smooth matte finish that is ideal for the mount to adhere to and provides a secure grip and is generally able to maintain a string hold over a long period of time. It also protects your dashboard and should go on the dashboard first- sticky side down. If the suction cup or dashboard pad does become loose over time, out 2 year warranty covers replacements. Please note, if your dashboard has a lot of texture or curve, our dashboard pads may not hold well to the dash, in which case, the windshield would be an alternative option.
