JanSport Big Student 17.5" Backpack

This has been a great backpack for my elementary age kid. The only downside is the water bottle pocket. It's made of complete mesh, and it tears pretty easily. It's currently completely torn open being held together by tape. It's not clear if it would be covered under warranty or considered normal wear and tear (and the warranty process isn't the most convenient) - so I wouldn't buy this again for this reason.

So I ordered this for my older kid and it's amazing. The amount of pockets that it has I love it. The straps are strong and thick. It hasn't been a long time that my kid had it but the amount of space that it has I can accommodate everything without pushing thing. Everything that my kid takes to school is so organized and has space to be in it. I definitely recommend this backpack if your kids has a lot of things to take for school. My kid goes to 4th grade so this is good 9 and up in my personal opinion. By the way, I couldn't select all the pros for some reason

I can fit 5 days worth of clothes in this bag and it still is super comfy and holds everything I need

I didn’t get this bag free to write this review. I bought it. This backpack is truly a powerhouse, it has somehow made it to the week before Christmas without crumbling into a pile of fabric. This bag holds everything, including a rotting apple. Now my dear sweet 9 year old, last cleaned this bag out right before Thanksgiving and this apple Injist found was simply a pile of mush, and smelled like a distillery. Somehow though, zipped up I never once smelled the apple, until unzipped it in the dark car put my hand in the pocket to look for a hair tie . I did not find a hair tie but I did discover a new smell proof bag.

My son has had this backpack for 3 months and the water bottle holder has already ripped. He now doesn't take his water bottle yo school anymore because he can't put it in his backpack. For the price of this backpack, I expected it to last for years!

For the price, this backpack seems quite durable. So far it fits all that i put in it; jacket, gloves, food container and laptop. The last of which has its own dedicated slot which is nice!

Got this for middle school perfect

For my 14 yr old son who has to bring books, lunch, & his chrome book…this backpack delivers!

Super bummed. These have always been such great backpacks. My son’s zipper is already messed up on the big part of the backpack. I didn’t even have it a month prior to breaking. Backpack is sturdy and has a lot of space though. Was hoping to use this through junior high.

we got this backpack on clearance for $16. its so great and a preppy backpack for this price. Its a total SLAY!!!! we can fit all our homework in it, finally, unlike our other backpacks. we love to be PREPPPYYYYY!!!

Love love love jansport for the kids backpack great quality for the price

The big student what can I say about this wonderful backpack having four of them now what I love about the backpack it's simplistic is adorable has exactly what I need and wonderful accessibility and pockets.

This backpack is WAY TOO BIG. I used it for high school, had multiple notebooks, binders, and a textbook, and still had too much room. Dimensions say 7.5" deep, total it's at least 12. Walking through hallways I could not turn at all without hitting someone because it stuck out so far. I love Jansport and this is a great backpack, but be aware that this backpack is HUGE!!! I recommend ordering a smaller one.

This is my go to my favorite rock sack out of all the Jansport line. The big student is durable, professional, looking, reliable, and stylish backpack. Easy access, user-friendly pockets this one backpack will serve you very well.

I had this backpack throughout high school and it lasted all of it and 2 years. I sent it in one time for repairs. But I ended up getting an egift card for it. I immediately bought the exact same bag.

I bought this backpack in a smaller size and exchanged it for this one to get more space as well as bottle holders. This bag is super roomy, with multiple large and small pockets. It's a great option for elementary school age. Feels sturdy as well.
