[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my JBL Charge 6 about a month ago, and have enjoyed using it since. The built quality is premium which goes along with the sound quality. The battery life was amazing and a full charge lasted around 15 days for me. The speaker had supreme bass, with crystal clear sound and strong vibrations. The bluetooth connectivity is strong and has good coverage. I was able to carry them to the park and play around with the music playing in the background. I would definitely recommend the charge 6.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first speaker in the Charge line that I've tried, but I'm a big fan of this little guy. I mostly use it for outdoor gatherings, BBQs, park hangouts, etc. For those small/medium-sized group hangouts, previously I would use the JBL Go, which is even smaller but not quite as powerful. And for large gatherings/parties I would use an actual large speaker such as the Partybox. But the Charge fits great in that middle ground, where the Go might fall a bit short but the Partybox is overkill. PROS: - Sexy / cool looks. Looks very sleek and modern, with the orange hue around the JBL logo, and the ! sign on both ends. - Nice and portable: At just under 1kg in weight and 9 in x 3.5 in it's easy to throw in the backpack or beach bag. Clearly not as lightweight as a JBL Go, but still very portable. - Comes with carry handle - Powerful sound: volume goes pretty pretty loud CONS: - The one con I found, and the reason I subtracted 1 star (I would've subtracted half a star if it was possible) is that at higher volumes the sound isn't quite as clean. To be expected from a little guy like this one, but worth mentioning.

Beefy loud sound and great portability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Charge 6 is an all-around fun and versatile Bluetooth speaker that has quickly become a favorite addition to my audio lineup. Much like the first Partybox I owned years ago, there's something about the sound, design, and quality of this speaker that makes me genuinely glad to have it. What Stands Out: One of the most remarkable features is its signature JBL bass—full, heavy, and impactful. For those who love bass-driven audio, this speaker delivers in spades. Personally, I appreciated the app’s EQ feature, which allowed me to fine-tune the sound to suit my preferences since the default setting was a bit too bass-heavy for my taste. Pairing and setup with the app on my iPhone was seamless, and I had the speaker up and running in no time. The addition of a handle is a thoughtful improvement from previous versions, making it much easier to grab and carry. Its waterproof design has been fantastic for use in the shower or sauna, adding to its versatility. Whether it’s at my desk for podcasts or traveling from room to room in my apartment, the portability is perfect. Outdoors, it offers surprisingly loud and clear audio, although there’s room for improvement in sound projection for larger spaces. Battery Life: The battery performance is stellar. I was able to use the speaker for 3-4 days, averaging 4-5 hours of playtime per day, before needing to recharge. Plus, the red flashing light at around 15% battery is a simple but helpful indicator. A Few Hiccups: While the bass is impressive, it’s a bit challenging to minimize it entirely, which might be a consideration for those living in close quarters like apartments. Thankfully, the PlaytimeBoost and EQ features do help, with PlaytimeBoost being particularly effective at reducing bass output. Another slight downside is the lack of a cover for the charging port, a feature that would have been reassuring given its waterproof design. The sound occasionally cuts out, which I hope can be resolved with a future software update. Other Observations: The handle, while convenient, has some thin plastic or rubber components that seem like they might tear if snagged, so I’m a little concerned about its durability over time. Additionally, having multiple JBL apps for different devices can feel excessive—it would be great to see a unified app solution in the future. Verdict: Overall, the JBL Charge 6 is a fantastic speaker for anyone looking for a portable, high-quality audio solution. It’s ideal for everyday use, both at home and on the go, offering great sound, impressive battery life, and thoughtful features like the handle and waterproof design. With a few minor improvements, this could easily be a perfect option for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

Sounds great, really good battery life, big sound yet portable. We use it while doing yard work, shooting hoops, camping, and any other time we want to share music or audiobooks. Don't have anything else to add, but if you've been considering it, don't wait any longer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE IT!! If I could have entered 4.99 stars, I would have! Let’s talk about the JBL Charge 6. The item is sleek and its portability is phenomenal! It came with a a comfortable strap to carry it with you. Perfect for on the go travelers! The sound quality is amazing. The the JBL Charge 6 has a charging port. There’s an ability to boost the bass when wanting that full, loud bump. The sound travels very far. I took it to a family get together ina backyard with a pool hot tub and waterfall. Nobody had a hard time hearing the tunes. It has blue tooth capabilities and can connect to more than one device at a time. Pretty awesome! It’s easy to use and can be controlled through the JBL app if you have it. The bottom of the speaker has rubber and is flat for great stability on any surface. So why not the 5 stars? It isn’t with the item itself, it’s with the packaging or lack thereof. The speaker did not come with any sort of charger. I understand that a lot of items are interchangeable, but what if I was purchasing this for my dad, who has no other devices that use that port? So yes, this JBL charger 6 is perfect…for me, for you, for a parent, for anyone. Purchase one!

Bought this on the 27th March and received it the next day on the 28th, which is before it was supposed to be even released! I got the red colour and I must say it looks absolutely stunning! Definitely the best colour. The new strap makes the speaker feel a lot lighter than it really is and the sound that this speaker puts out for how small it is is amazing! It's got great bass and really crisp highs which makes it great for both bassy music and more detailed listening with it's balanced sound. If you need a portable speaker then there is no speaker better than this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JBL CHARGE 6 Review I've been using the JBL CHARGE 6 for a few weeks now, and it has quickly become my go-to speaker for relaxing at home after a long day. One of the first things that struck me was the surprising loudness. While volume isn't always the most critical feature in a portable speaker, it definitely grabs your attention. The sound quality is exceptional. The passive radiators on each end work seamlessly, even at the lowest frequencies, ensuring deep and rich bass. Overall, the audio is bold and clear, with vocals coming through clean and strong. Both high and low frequencies are well-defined, with no distortion at any volume level. The build quality is impressive too—the speaker feels solid and durable, with a high-quality fabric covering that adds a premium touch

JBL Charge 6 Review

4 out of 5 stars
TJ Stegall - 29 days ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was eager to sample the JBL Charge 6, having previously enjoyed the audio performance and durability of models like the Charge 3, 4, and 5, as well as the Flip 4 and 5. My primary goal was to find a portable speaker that not only delivered exceptional sound quality but also proved resilient enough for outdoor use. The Charge 6 certainly meets the criteria for a robust and waterproof speaker, making it a great companion for adventures. However, I was left wanting in terms of sound quality, particularly in the bass department, which I found lacking compared to the Flip 5. One of the standout features of the Charge 6 is its sturdy construction, which is evident from the moment you take it out of the box. The materials used in this speaker are top-notch, providing a sense of toughness that instills confidence when using it in various environments. The exterior is designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor activities, and the waterproofing capabilities are impressive, as I tested it in wet conditions without any issues. The included handle enhances its portability, making it easy to carry during hikes or trips to the beach. Furthermore, the Bluetooth connectivity is a significant improvement over previous models, connecting almost instantly and ensuring that you can start enjoying your music without delay. Despite its robust build and impressive features, I found that the sound quality didn't entirely meet my expectations. While the Charge 6 offers clarity and a decent volume range, the bass response felt somewhat shallow compared to other JBL speakers I've used, particularly the Flip 5. This is a crucial point for those who enjoy deep, resonant bass in their music. Although the overall sound is acceptable for casual listening, audiophiles or bass enthusiasts might be disappointed. The speaker does excel in providing a balanced audio experience for most genres, but if deep bass is a priority, you may want to explore other options in JBL's lineup. In conclusion, the JBL Charge 6 is a solid product that excels in durability, style, and convenience. Its tough materials and waterproofing make it an excellent choice for outdoor use, and the improvements in Bluetooth connectivity are much appreciated. However, potential buyers should be aware that while the speaker delivers clear sound, the bass may not be as deep as expected. Overall, I would recommend the Charge 6 to anyone seeking a reliable and stylish portable speaker, especially for casual use during outdoor activities. My sentiment regarding this product aligns with my star rating; while it is a sturdy and attractive option, there is room for improvement in sound quality, particularly in the bass department.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought the handle for this speaker was interesting.....I didn't realize how much I would love being able to so easily grab it, to move the charge 6 with me from room to room. I use it a lot to listen to music or podcasts while I cook, shower, and whatnot. It quickly and seamlessly connects with my phone when turned on. The blend of textures and finishes really up the style and quality feel. It doesn't seem to be able to connect to speakers that use party boost to link, but that's not that big of a deal - it delivers plenty of big sound on its own.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little speaker is a powerhouse! This speaker is about the size of a protein shaker but puts out a rich sound with a bass that hits surprisingly hard. I had this speaker for about an hour before my son claimed it as his own. The look and feel of this unit is high end. The adjustable carrying handle is a nice touch. This speaker has been used during outdoor and indoor workouts and has replaced the a larger speaker that we have been using the locker room before practice. I tend to plug it in every few days so I don't know how true it is to the 28hr playtime that is advertised. I highly anticipate this speaker making it's way into our bags when traveling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of all the smaller portable speakers this is the best all rounder. Mids and highs are well defined for a speaker with such powerful bass. Now with the new added strap this is a game changer which should have been added to the whole charge line. Only drawback for some, is that to get full stereo sound you need two of them. Still two are cheaper than one boombox 3, making this speaker a bargain. The sound is amazing from this speaker and imo needs no more adjustment bc playing this and testing different volume levels it gets very ear piercing at max volumes so great job in that department . I would have like to see either a extra speaker on the opposite side for some 3d sound output and a exclusive colorway directly to this model and future models like a limited edition. Also i know that the name has always been called the jbl charge but using this to charge my phone is not practical anymore maybe in the earlier productions of the line but it seems phones now have longer battery life making this feature almost non existant maybe think of giving it something else revamping the name to fit the time. This is the perfect speaker for a college student in a dorm and can easily fit in a backpack in conclusion, keeping in mind that you will need two for true stereo sound, I say go ahead and buy it! You will be pleasantly surprised with it's performance for the price!

I LOVE JBL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box, I was simply amazed by the look of this speaker. It looks like they have updated the charge 6 this time to have a more rugged core, to keep those outside speakers safe. The charging port is not covered this time, so I assume if put in water, somehow it will not penetrate te electrical components. Last but not least, a handle!!! I am loving the handle. I have a JBL charge 3 and 4, but I usually grab my Flip first or a smaller one, because of portability. With this added new handle, I will most likely grab this first. Sound...What can I say, JBL does it again. The mids are fantastic, treble is crisp and clear and there is no distortion what so ever. Of course the bass is amazing. I used this speaker for a bonfire and I got nothing but compliments. I went with the color black, but camo was really the wanted color here. I like black because it just looks cleaner and matches alot of other things. The battery life on the box states 28 hours. I have not tested this fully, but i played it from noon till around 9pm on high volume. Once again, JBL knocks it out of the park.

Another Solid Product In A Line of Solid Products

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I think of JBL's line of bluetooth speakers, I immediately think of the "Charge" products. The JBL Charge 2 was my first JBL product and it was a workhorse in my dorms/apartments during college and beyond. So, I was very happy to get my hands on the Charge 6. First, I was very happy to find the packaging to be minimal. Thankfully, JBL realizes that 99% of us have more USB cords than we know what to do with and have decided to not include yet another in this package. Some may find this to be a negative, but I am firmly in the opposite camp. We need to cut down on technological waste and this simple change can do a lot. Also, the speaker was snugly secure in the small package and I believe it would take a lot for it to be damaged. Other than the speaker, there is a book that acts as a "Quick Start" guide and a more involved booklet with technical specs. Aesthetically, this speaker is in 2025. It looks sleek, modern, and hefty. It has the weight to it that tells you it is a high quality product that packs a big sound and big, intuitive buttons that don't seem like they will wear down any time soon. The strap is detachable and changeable to fit whatever use you need, whether it is simply carrying it around as a handle or using the loop configuration to hang it in a central location. The features are what you would expect from this product, as JBL has mastered what is necessary for an everyday bluetooth speaker and do not waste our time with frivolous features or gimmicks. There is a power button, a pairing button, a button that allows you to tether the speaker with others, and standard playback buttons. All are clearly identifiable and, as mentioned before, the buttons are sturdy and high quality. Sound-wise, this speaker is very impressive. I have tested it on multiple volumes and with multiple genres of music and even podcasts. Melodic songs and podcasts come through clearly, with every note and word articulated and nothing being muddled. More "heavy" songs have that chunkiness to them that you want and not every bluetooth speaker is going to have. Far too many speakers sound like the computer speakers from your middle-school computer classes in the early 00s. Not this speaker. It sounds full and impressive. The volume gets quite loud and this clarity does not suffer even when maxed out. This speaker is waterproof to a point and boasts being dustproof as well. This, paired with the fact that it boasts a 24 hour playback time and can be used as a power bank for other electronic devices, makes it the ultimate beach/party/small event speaker of the summer. Overall, I am strongly impressed with this product and recommend it to anyone looking for a substantial upgrade to their bluetooth setup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The second I linked it to my phone at half volume the sound was so loud it scared everyone in the house even the dog barked! Hahahaha. Rather impressed with the sound, smaller size and the charging port to charge your devices. I love that is waterproof and states it has a warning sound if the connector detects water, salt, or any other chemical. It comes with a really nice handle you can put on two different ways. The style is very reminiscent of other charge speakers, has a bit of a weight to it, does link to other charge speakers however, this is the only one that I have so I could not test that out, but overall definitely worth it if you like great sound, being waterproof , dust proof, ( great for the beach or pool side) convenience of charging other devices and has a nice stylish look, this would be a great option for you.

A Worthy Upgrade with Customizable Sound

5 out of 5 stars
ThatGuyYouKnow - 1 month ago
originally posted on jbl.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Charge 6 is an impressive-sounding speaker right out of the box, but what truly elevates it is the new 7-band EQ. With just a little tweaking, you can fine-tune the sound to your liking, making an already good-sounding speaker truly great. Design & Build Quality JBL has refined the Charge 6’s build, making it feel more premium than ever. The passive radiator areas now have extra protection, and the new gel-like feet are a significant improvement over the rubber strips found on the Charge 5 and even the Boombox 3. They feel more secure and durable, reducing concerns about wear and tear. Another notable addition is the removable handle. You can use it as a traditional handle, loop it to the side, or remove it entirely if you prefer a more compact look. Given the speaker’s portable size, the handle is more of a convenience than a necessity—but it’s a great option to have. Features & Performance JBL’s Auracast is the new party mode feature, allowing seamless connectivity with other compatible speakers. I tested it with my Go 4 and Authentics 200, and pairing was quick and effortless. The Charge 6 also supports lossless audio via a wired connection. I tested this with YouTube Music and Tidal, and the difference was noticeable, even though YouTube Music only offers "high quality" audio rather than true lossless. Music, especially tracks featuring guitar, sounded cleaner and more detailed. Battery Life Battery life has been as advertised, but to maximize playtime, you’ll need to enable Playtime Boost. While this extends battery life, it comes at the cost of disabling the EQ, which noticeably impacts the sound quality. Final Thoughts Overall, the JBL Charge 6 is an excellent upgrade with premium build quality, improved stability, a customizable EQ, and strong connectivity options. It sounds great out of the box, but with a few EQ adjustments, it can sound even better. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality portable speaker, the Charge 6 is an easy recommendation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1. Durability: Waterproof, Dustproof, Drop-proof: The JBL Charge 6 boasts an IP68 rating, . It's designed to withstand outdoor environments like poolside parties, rugged adventures, and accidental drops. Sturdy Handle Strap: The included removable strap is incredibly helpful for easy carrying. Whether you're moving it from the car to the house or bringing it to a picnic, the strap ensures portability is simple and convenient. 2. Battery & Charging: Fast Charge & Long Battery Life: With 10 minutes of charging providing up to 150 minutes of playtime, and up to 28 hours of total playtime on a full charge (depending on volume), the Charge 6 is great for long-lasting, hassle-free music. Built-in Powerbank & No Cable Included: The built-in powerbank lets you charge your devices while enjoying music, but a charging cable is not included in the box (unlike the Charge 5), so you’ll need to purchase it separately. 3. Sound Quality: Loud and Powerful Bass: The sound and bass are loud and of high quality, making it a great option for parties or outdoor events where you need powerful sound Lossless Audio & Auracast™: The speaker supports lossless audio playback through USB-C for high-quality sound. It also features Auracast™ multi-speaker connection, though it’s not compatible with older models like the Charge 5. 4. App & Usability: JBL Portable App: The JBL Portable app offers customization options and firmware updates, allowing you to adjust the audio settings to your liking. However, one downside is that JBL uses different apps for each product category (e.g., JBL PartyBox for larger speakers, JBL Headphones for headphones). It would be more convenient if all JBL products were controlled through a single app instead of having multiple apps to manage different devices. Final Thoughts: The JBL Charge 6 delivers a fantastic combination of rugged durability, impressive sound quality, and practical features. The sturdy handle strap makes it easy to carry, and the fast charge and long battery life mean you can enjoy music for hours without interruption. The sound quality is loud and clear with deep bass, and lossless audio playback ensures you get the best sound quality possible. The lack of a charging cable and the Auracast™ compatibility issues with older models like the Charge 5 might be drawbacks, but the built-in powerbank and multi-speaker connection features more than make up for it. The JBL Portable app adds convenience but could be improved with a unified app for all JBL devices. With AI Sound Boost, and 28 hours of playtime, the JBL Charge 6 is a strong choice for anyone in search of a high-performance, durable portable speaker

The strap detail is simple yet effective, making it easy to carry around. While I don’t like having apps for everything, I appreciate that in this case it helps keep the speaker controls simple and reduces the number of buttons, while the app offers customization options to enhance the sound quality. If you’re seeking a portable speaker that delivers high-quality sound, this is an excellent choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the product at my cousin bbq. The sound right out the box is not as good as its previous lines of JBL products. To make the sound of the speaker sound better or clearer you need to download the JBL app and make the adjustments on the equalizer. The product is lighter in weight but that’s what I think holds the product from sounding louder maybe because they are using lighter material. I still haven’t been able to figure out how to connect multiple speakers even though both show up on the app they both won’t simultaneously play together. The speaker is very attractive and the ladies loved the strap that comes with it. Overall looks and after JBL app use I’ll give it a 4/5. The sound could be better but maybe with the less weight and less sound maybe that’s where long battery life comes into play.
