JBL Pulse 5 Speakers - Black

Utterly devastated and disgusted in the quality this speaker was expensive after no more than 15 uses it now does not charge/turn on

Love the sound quality and the colors. The sound on this is amazing. The charge lasts a really long time. Easy to set up and connect. The changing of the colors is amazing, especially in a dark room.

My boyfriend loved it! i got it on clearance for $74 which is a amazing deal, so i had to make the purchase definitely worth full price.

Sounds are perfect and light is therapeutically pleasing

All what I wanna say is that you are nuts there in JBL.. how it was possible to produce such a speaker with no volume control? How I suppose to contol volume is say I have connected to my vinyl player?

Amazing speaker! I purchased it with a circle deal for 199$ and use it every day. The sound quality is fantastic and I love the light feature. I use it as a mood light all the time, it has multiple settings. Highly recommend! I get compliments on it all the time 😂 it looks super fancy.

I think this is one of the coolest looking speakers out there and sounds great in any part of the room! But I do wish it had a little more bass besides that I would highly recommend it!

Literally everything about this speaker is great aside from the charge, it says on here that it lasts for twelve hours but that definitely is not true at least not with mine. From the time I unboxed it, it takes over eight hours to charge and doesn’t even last five hours even with the lights all the way down, maybe with the light effects off it lasts twelve hours but the whole point of this speaker is the lights so that’s pretty contradictory and useless. Like I said everything aside from the charge is great, great sound quality etc, maybe something is just wrong with mine but like I said its been the same since the minute I unboxed it.

Not a good value for what it is. I have other JBL products that sound better than this. It’s not heavy on the bass and not very loud. You are paying for the visuals with this one. Cool level? 5/5 sound? 3/5 value? 2/5

This is the coolest speaker! I bought it for a party- it worked perfect for my big backyard- then I brought it to work and now we use it every day in the Chemotherapy infusion room. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY someone asks where we got the speaker. The sound is so great and it’s entertaining to watch too!! I’m going to get another one for home use :)

Lights are amazing speaker is amazing only thing is the first one that shipped to me arrived scratched and the replacement i had to order the bottom lights don't work which wasn't a big deal for me but for what your paying everything should be working as soon as it arrives

It's not perfect but it is a fun and great speaker. I have an older JBL Pulse 2 that is not holding a charge like it use to, so I decided to upgrade to the Pulse 5. I like the 360-degree light show and all of the options to modify the light show are really cool. The speaker itself is about 30% bigger than my old Pulse speaker - so it isn't something I would pack in luggage for an airline trip/vacation, but I do like to take it up to the cabin or bring it into the backyard to play music while in the hot tub or while barbequing. The music that comes from it is great and the ability to control the bass, mids, and highs is a great feature. I also like that you can pair up multiple Pulse 5 speakers and play them in stereo while having an outdoor light show. Also, the APP that controls the speaker is very easy to use. So why isn't the speaker perfect - because there is no external volume control; you can't just grab the speaker and raise or lower the volume. Volume is controlled entirely by the APP on your phone. I can live with this one shortfall though, and it doesn't stop the speaker from being an awesome speaker and a great value for what you get.

Honestly I expected it to be louder. Not what I expected.

Just received my JBL pulse 5 a few days ago and let me just say wow from opening the box to actually using it, it has blown me away. Having the pulses 1-5 and to see how far they have come its truly incredible. The light show is unreal also awesome how they added the lights on the bass. The app is easy to use with a lot of cool newer options! Having the strap gives you the ability to place this pulse anywhere ! I currently have it on my Christmas tree lol and I have a lot of friends and people that follow me on social media nonstop talking about my newest speaker. Great addition to the collection and the best one yet ! Highly suggest getting one ITS WORTH IT !!!!!!

This speaker is very well at everyday use. I love it not only aesthetically but the bass and treble is there for me coming from a JBL Flip 4. This is the best upgrade I have made. This is such a good lava lamp lol. What I also love is that it has outdoor noises (Water, fire, etc) in the app to help you relax, sleep, and wind down etc. I love it visually how it almost looks like it’s floating in the clear shield.

I had the JBL Pulse 3 and I decided to upgrade. Y'all! This speaker is amazing! I love the way it looks, the light show is awesome. The sound is great, perfect tones and doesn't distort if you turn it up. I love how heavy it is. The only thing I don't like is that the light show doesn't seem to sync to the music, it's more random than on beat, even if you adjust the light show speed. But I would definitely buy this speaker again. Love it.

Partybox on the Go JBL Xtreme 2 Flip and Clip Pulse 2 JBL will be the speaker brand I recommend 100% of the time especially through Target. Sales are often for every size of speaker you could possibly want, the Partybox on the Go with the karaoke microphone down to the surprisingly powerful Clip speaker, these two being speakers I own. My favorite sound by far has to come from the Xtreme 2 while my favorite designed and feature-full speaker is actually the JBL Pulse 2 (Two, *not* to be confused with *this* speaker) The JBL Pulse 2 did everything this speaker did better except for it's light show. Mind you, it was impressive when it first released which is what made want to buy it but what made me keep it and use it as my daily for two years was that the sound was also very, very good. Especially with the ability to place where ever you want; discovering what spot in your room actually amplifies the sound was something I had a lot of fun with that speaker. Now here we are three generations later with the JBL Pulse 5 and to my actual shock... I don't like this speaker. As my review title says, JBL made a Lava Lamp this time that happens to have a low tier speaker in it. When the 2 released I bought The Weekend's The Hills and did my bass test and was again surprsingly satisfied but after playing a few songs on this, trying to find that sweet spot and toying with the settings in the JBL app I'm pretty dissapointed to say that JBL fumbled this time and failed to do the thing they are best at. When this speaker is on sale, I would recommend giving it a try if you are interested in the actually impressve light show. The app allows for much better control than all of the other pulses including customizing every color scene with a color of your choice! It is kinda ruined by the hidesouly large JBL logo smack in the front, a terrible trend they spread to a lot of their devices. All in all the speaker is excellently built but I would stay vigiliant around any clumsy behavior, wouldn't want to ruin the one thing the speaker is good at, a lava lamp. Better gift for teens and kids but maybe not so much for young and older adults unless they really, really like color shows. Then go for it.
