About this item
Highlights
- Easily one of the most important records ever made, John Coltrane's a Love Supreme was his pinnacle studio outing that at once compiled all of his innovations from his past, spoke of his current deep spirituality, and also gave a glimpse into the next two and a half years (sadly, those would be his last). Recorded at the end of 1964, Trane's classic quartet of Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, and Jimmy Garrison stepped in and created one of the most thought-provoking albums of their relationship.
- Target Exclusive features Orange vinyl.

The orange vinyl is fun but, it's crappy vinyl and if you know what you're hearing you won't like it.

Album itself is 5 stars, but I’ve bought/returned this three times. Each copy was severely warped. It’s too bad, the orange vinyl does look good.

My copy sounds great while spinning. No issues with warps or tracking. Anti-skate helped to prevent skipping. Don’t hesitate to buy.

Went through 2 copies shipped direct from Target - both severely warped. I had bought the orange to replace the previous Target-exclusive “black smoke” press because that one was warped too. So, I ended up with three incredibly warped copies. Total shame, because this press is supposed to be otherwise great and pretty definitive. Maybe the average Target customer doesn’t care/notice, but it really is a bad trend I’ve noticed through several of the Target-exclusive LPs.
Decent sound, warped record.

I took a chance on this record knowing that a lot of the reviews mentioned LP warping. The LP I picked up was warped. Despite the disappointing condition, sound quality is decent and plays the on my system without skipping. Going to try to flattened it the next couple of days.

Purchased copy is also pretty heavily warped as others have reported. Played Side A once and my turntable tracks it fine, so…still debating if I’ll keep it.

The release is all analogue. AAA all the way. Sounds really great! My copy is not totally flat, but I can live with it.

This is my second proper Target vinyl purchase and the second one to leave me unimpressed and disappointed. I was very much looking forward to this one as it’s one of my favourite jazz works. You could imagine how my happiness quickly turned to disappointment when I went put the record on the platter. Granted, I live in Florida and I nearly expected this due to the heat that we deal with on the norm but this isn’t right. I had previously purchased a Target Exclusivw Hendrix release in Nov on day of release. I show up to my local Target at 6 in the evening and no had yet to put them out on the floor. So they could’ve been anywhere in the back. Out in the heat. Somewhere between shipping, receiving and putting them out on sales floor. Someone is dropping the ball. I’ll be returning this and hoping that there’ll be another copy that isn’t in dreadful shape.

It's THE A Love Supreme. John Coltrane. What more is there to say? Buy it! I am elated that they put this out on vinyl. I own it digitally but the record?? Going to play it now!
