For optimal results, use this hair color on light brown to black hair. On mostly grey hair, the color will appear lighter than the hair color shown on the results swatch. On red hair, your color results will be dark reddish brown. I love this hair color!! It is simple to use. The foam keeps it from being messy plus there’s enough conditioner to use on my shoulder length hair 1-2 times a week for at least a month after I color it. I have used different brands and different shades of brunette hair color for years and have found the perfect one for me. I will never use a different hair color again.

I ordered the 4 deep dark brown color, wanting to be a darker color than my 5-ish brown tone that was getting brassy from sun exposure. I also have really tough grays that my stylist has to take extra steps to cover. My grays were showing early and I was hoping to skip the stylist this time and gave this a whirl. I did extra time on my roots and extra time for the grays and probably extra time still as I went through with a brush for my roots. This did NOT cover the grays. This seems to have a lot of tones to it, showing highlights of red where I was brassy. It’s surprisingly close to the dark tones in my deep walnut dresser. While it is pretty enough of a color, I was trying for a deep darker true brown, and that’s not really what I got. Given this is 1 hr post-color and the color will likely lighten over time, it’s probably too light for my expectations. However, I can say that this is definitely not a cooler tone and is pleasant against my fair-neutral skin, even if a bit too red for me; I wish it had covered my brassy tones better. I also saw a lot of shed when I colored, especially for having showered this morning and already removed much of my standard shed. If you don’t have gray yet and you are thinking about going dark brown but are hesitant, this may be the brown for you, but it’s not for me.

DO NOT BUY!!!!! Causes hair loss!! I’m sick with regret and hope I can save someone from going through what I’m experiencing. I used this product twice and didn’t connect until the second time that it was causing massive shedding like I’ve never seen before, with no end in sight. Please read this and stay away! I wish I had looked at reviews at other places where many have shared their experiences before I used it. RUN AWAY!!! The allergic reaction and hair loss is not worth the risk!

This hair dye is amazing. I’d say maybe a slight learning curve, but very easy to figure out. The color payoff is better than any box dye I’ve used and it’s not as messy as cream color. The dye does not stain skin as much as other dyes either. I will be repurchasing again and again. If you need to know how many boxes to purchase based off of hair length/coarseness, my hair is about 30" long, medium thick 2b/2c and 2 boxes were more than enough! This is also great considering that most cream colors I would need 3 boxes.

There is NO WAY the good reviews for this product are real. I’ve been coloring my hair at home every 6 weeks for nearly a decade. I bought this brand of dye bc mine was out of stock and it’s hands down the worst hair dye I’ve ever used. It’s messy, the gloves are huge and slip all over the place, the foam falls everywhere, it’s impossible to get close to the roots around your face without getting dye all over your skin, it didn’t cover grays well despite leaving it on for the recommended time, my list goes on and on. I have nothing good to say about this product and I will never use it again.

The color itself looked great when it was done after covering faded red hair. You can see the red show through a little bit (which is expected because it never leaves your hair!) but it does still look dark brown and it looks good too. The only complaint i have is that it didn't foam up in my hair. I always buy two boxes just in case one isn't enough, and I used both because my hair was not foamy like the instructions implied. Not sure if I'd use this for anything other than dark brown, but my hair was incredibly soft and shiny afterwards. (Btw, I am not covering any grays, so I'm not sure how that would work.
