Q: Is the palm oil palm fruit oil?

submitted by Ms Lynn - 4 months ago
  • A: Correct, the reason that we use palm oil is because it is a Non-GMO, non-hydrogenated oil that acts as a stabilizer and reduces oil separation. This means less stirring for you every time you dip into a jar! The palm oil used in our nut butters is certified sustainable under a mixed supply chain model. We are also proud members of the the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm), which encourages sustainable growing practices and human rights initiatives at the farm level, while promoting education about the cultivation and use of certified sustainable palm oil. RSPO is the leading organization to date for sustainably sourced palm oil.

Q: Is this non-stir or does it separate?

submitted by casterp - 1 year ago
  • A: Our nut butters should always be creamy and delicious, so that means less stirring for you every time you dip into one of our jars!

Q: where do you store the nut butter and what is the shelf life?

submitted by Kim F - 3 years ago
  • A: Our nut butters are shelf stable, so we reccomend storing them in your pantry. As for shelf life, our nut butters have a 12 month shelf life but we reccomend refering to the best by date on the jar.

We bought the Justin's Classic Almond Butter and kept it in the refrigerator once we opened it and started using it. It has a stale flavor even though the "best by date" is 12/06/24 (the picture upload section for the review doesn't work). It doesn't have maple syrup, honey, or anything else in it to mask the flavor, so it's probably more noticeable. It definitely does not taste fresh.

Why add palm oil to almond butter? The cholesterol content in palm oil is not good for your health.

I should’ve read the label before I purchased. It contains palm oil which is high in saturated fats! PLUS was shocked to see this almond butter has 30 more calories per serving than regular JIF peanut butter! Tastes weird also.

I've been making homemade almond butter for +2 years, never know it could taste disgusting. I would describe the taste as burnt cookies (all the way black) blending in to a really thick paste. The texture is awful. I took I bite with it on my oatmeal, immediately lost my appetite. Will never buy this again

My son and I love this almond butter. Very creamy and easy to spread, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. I wish the price point was a bit lower, but will still continue to purchase when they go on sale with cart well.

Flavorless and gritty

1 out of 5 stars
Smoothie gurl - 3 years ago

Since the beginning of time man has used minute quantities of salt and/or sugar to enhance the flavor of foods. Your company decided not to do that (rendering it flavorless), but added palm oil instead. Your product is gritty, devoid of the creaminess that makes almond butter delicious.

I should have read the label first. It didn't taste quite right to me. Then I saw the palm oil ingredient. No thank you. Next time I'll try the fresh made at the supermarket. Nothing added.
