Q: Has the peanut butter formula changed recently? I've gotten them for years and they used to be creamy peanut butter and now the last few months it's solid thick paste and not creamy at all.

A: Rest assured there have been no recipe changes to the cups that you know and love! Our cups are extra special due to being free of preservatives or hydrogenated oils. This cleaner ingredient label makes them more sensitive to confectionery quality concerns. Drastic temperature changes in shipping, handling, and storage can cause both the chocolate to be discolored and the nut butter to dry out and discolor in most cases. This organization goes to great lengths to ensure the safety and quality of the farms from where we source our cocoa. Rainforest Alliance accomplishes this by defining the criteria for suitable labor conditions, educating and training its farmers, and monitoring labor practices on farms through the certification audits and specific studies. Additionally, our chocolate is organic, which prohibits the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, thus increasing soil biodiversity. Don't call this dark chocolate. First ingredient for the chocolate itself is sugar, and these cups literally have nearly the same amount of sugar as original reeses cups. It's also too much chocolate, too much salt, and not good flavor overall.

Honestly not bad, but let me put you on Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups. They are WAYYY better. You also get a lot more for cheaper.

As someone who is lactose intolerant, I was super excited to find this dairy free alternative to Reese’s cups. In fact, I think I like the taste of these better than Reese’s, or any other peanut butter cup for that matter. The only downside is they’re a bit pricey for only two cups. However, I believe they are worth it.

These are freaking phenomenal!!!! I’m not usually a fan of dark chocolate or organic candies but these are the one exception, anytime I see them I grab at least three. They’re super delicious and the filling was amazing. Honestly, my new favorite chocolate treat.

I don't even really like dark chocolate, but the peanut butter in this makes up for the chocolate lol. They compliment each other really well. I don't eat dairy anymore, so can't try the milk chocolate version but I'm willing to bet it's better than Reese's (which I used to love). The peanut butter in this one is so much better. It tastes like real peanut butter mixed with sugar. Delicious BUT expensive.
