Q: How far apart are the slats? What is the distance from first bunk to top bunk? What is the underbed storage measurement?

A: The slats are 4" apart and should be screwed in place on both ends. The distance from the top of an 8" thick mattress on the bottom bunk the the bottom on the top bunk is 25". The under the bed storage unit dimensions are 10.25"H x 39.5"W x 75.25"L.
