This product has to much fragrance , it activates allergies in my sinus

I thought I had finally found a replacement for my old discontinued facial cleanser. The first bottle was great! Five stars! The next bottle was the new formula. What a disappointment. Watery. Good luck not pouring out too much. I hate it and will once again be looking for a decent face wash. **Please don't offer to connect me with customer service unless they can offer a technique of boiling the new formula down to make it like the old gel again.**

I have been using this product daily for over a decade, but with the recent formula change it no longer leaves a pleasant feel on the skin that quickly absorbs; now mostly just feels sticky and gross up until next time you shower. Also as someone who shaves their head, the original formula offered a comfortable cooling effect to all the micro razor burn, but the current product just burns. Definitely will be my last purchase unless they can bring back the original formula, the current is only worthy of the trash can.

I don’t understand what the fuss is about with the updated formula. I love it! I still get that refreshed feeling…in fact even more so than the old formula!!! Best men’s face wash on the market imo

Looks like it’s not just me. I bought a new bottle recently. What ever went into reformulating the product has left me dissatisfied. I feel like the fragrance is less therapeutic and is now more clinical or industrial, less appealing. I also feel like it doesn’t lather up as well. Which could be intentional to drive more product use per use?? Either way, this long time customer is quite dissatisfied. Please notify if the product is changed back to the original.

As other reviewers have stated, this product recently switched to a new formula that is basically a watered-down version of the old formula with a new, stronger scent. I don't know what else to say other than I'm shocked that Kiehls would make such a drastic change to a popular product without doing some sort of testing first (focus group or otherwise). It just seems irresponsible. The change is clearly unpopular and I have to wonder what other products Kiehls plans to change in the near future. With that said, I plan to make fewer purchases of Kiehls products in general until I can be sure they won't make changes to other products. At the same time, unless there's a clear statement from Kiehls communicating that this product has reverted to the old formula, I plan to switch to another brand.

I've been using Kiehl's products since I moved to NYC in 1999 and went to the retail store in Chelsea. Since 1999 I've been using the Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash. Until this week. I unfortunately ran out of my latest supply and purchased a new bottle and that night when I went to shower I was completely flabbergasted. Clearly they had changed the formula, didn't mention it on their packaging, and clearly didn't try to at least make it similar or better. The scent is awful, the texture (is there texture to slippery water?) is wrong, need more of the product to be effective and it honestly doesn't even leave my face feeling clean. Thankfully a little research with ChatGPT and I was given several different products to try. The worst part is I also really like the Body Fuel Wash and suspect that they will eventually change that formula also.

I agree with the other reviews. I have been using this face wash for the last 20 years and something has definitely changed with their formula for this face wash. It is now extremely watery, requires more pumps, smells worse, does not feel as clean as it used to, and simply does not work as effectively as it used to. This, along with other changes that I have noticed with other products, is making me rethink my allegiance to Kiehl's. Kiehl's should be ashamed of themselves for making such drastic changes to a product and trying to market it as if it's the same old product. I returned the product and will never buy it again unless they revert to the old formula. Kiehl's you've lost a loyal customer.

I used this all the time. It was my go-to face cleanser... for decades! No longer. You changed it to the point where the scent is awful, the texture is awful, and you need much, more for a similar, but not the same effect. Doesn't clean as well. What you had was amazing and excellent. It is now junk. I'll never purchase this again.

Why change the formula of such a great product that has been in may peoples rotation for 10+ years? Offer a version for those that feel the need to use vegan products.

Agree with the disdain for the new formula. I actually took the time to seek out a forum to complain. Should have just discontinued the product rather than foist off this inferior product as the same thing. I'd like my money back.

Maybe a bad batch? This is not the same product I am used to. No lather, slippery rather than luxurious. Two bottles the same, will try to return

The new formula requires multiple pumps and doesn't go as far as the old formula. Feels like it is watered down and foams up too quickly. Fortunately, I found an unopened bottle of the old formula which I'll use and then find another face wash brand. Highly disappointed as the old formula was perfect as indicated by a number of other customers as well.

NEW FORMULA IS HORRID!! Why change when it was already perfect from the beginning

I've been using this for the last five years, ran out about a month ago, so I re-ordered. The reviews are correct. It's definitely different and it's lousy. No foaming action, and it feels like I need three pumps to even cover my entire face. Definitely watered down. Very disappointed as I will have to look for a new face wash.
