Q: Why would you want the bowl-lift feature vs a tilt head?

submitted by Cassie - 1 year ago
  • A: You can use this in more versatile places, such as under an overhang or cabinet without having to move it to lift the bowl.

submitted byMrs Meow - 28 days ago
  • A: Hi Cassie, The bowl-lift models offer a higher wattage for mixing larger quantities.

submitted byKitchenAidTeam - 1 year ago

  • A: Bread/pizza dough. Lift stand models have no "flex" in the hinge when kneading with the dough hook. Minor trade-off is having to remove the beater/hook before removing the bowl, vs tipping it up.

Love the versatility. I bought this in red and am super happy with it. Mixing is so much easier when I double the recipe. I think the only thing that makes this harder to use is you have to attach one side of the bowl and rotate it over to hook on. Other then that once you get use to it it works so perfect.

Love this! I’ve wanted one forever, finally made the deep dive and purchased it on a great sale from target. You want to use the 6qt attachments, even though it’s 5.5qt. I’ve had some difficulty and trial-and-error figuring that out.

    Want my old one back

    2 out of 5 stars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my 20+ year old Kitchen Aid stand mixer. The old one was squealing on low speeds and losing power to mix stiff dough, plus the beater was lightly hitting the sides. I still would rather have my old one because this new one feels like a lightweight cheap wannabe. The speed lever is annoyingly flimsy AMD has way too many "selections#. The motor is noisy and sounds like it's struggling to mix. The shallow shape of the mixer bowl slings pieces of dough out when mixing even at a medium speed.

    Good, not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Because it's a Kitchenaid you know it's good quality. It works fine, not great. Here is why I say this: If whipping up batter on speed 9 or 10, it has a tendency to splatter out of the bowl leaving a mess; the bowl handle isn't rolled, making it uncomfortable on your hand; and it didn't come with a splash guard. Otherwise, all is well.

This is my first Kitchenaide mixer, I recieved it as a Christmas gift. I love the red color and have Inamed her Ruby Rose'. This is the reason for star/ I took it out of the box and stood it on the counter, as I raised and lowered the bowl to get a feel for it, there was a sudden internal slip and the raise/lower apparatus slammed down. After this, it would not stay in raised position. Luckily, I am pretty mechanically inclined and have a house full of engineers. We felt and heard something loose in the column and looked in the bottom and could see something loose. We removed the bottom stand and low and behold the CLIP that held the arm inplace had slipped off. The c-clip was so loose it would not stay on. We went to the hardware store, bought a buck fifty clip to replace a vital but cheap part. I am hoping to become a lifelong Kitchenaid fan but not going to lie, I think I came to the game too late and the quality is not there.
