submitted byKitchenAidTeam - 1 year agoBrand expertA: Bread/pizza dough. Lift stand models have no "flex" in the hinge when kneading with the dough hook. Minor trade-off is having to remove the beater/hook before removing the bowl, vs tipping it up.

This mixer is slightly larger than the one that doesn’t have the bowl lift but the bowl lift actually seems to be a more sturdy feature. There are 11 mixing speeds which is really nice for everything from my making pizza dough to whipped cream. It’s the perfect appliance when you need an extra hand or two in the kitchen but also just enjoy being in the kitchen working alone. I love how KitchenAid makes different colors and designs to fit not only the need in the kitchen but also the aesthetic. The matte black and stainless look fits right into my kitchen. It came with three accessories and recipes already but I have ordered a few more and learned how to use them with the easy instructions and recipes that come with each item. This mixer does have less options for changing out the bowl because of the way you sit the bowl in place. There are two holes in either side of the bowl which fit over two studs and behind the bowl it clips in also. (This creates the stability I mentioned previously). I know some people like the ability to change out the bowls or have multiple on hand so definitely keep this in mind if you are that person. I personally recommend this product if you are the one hosting large holiday meals and the smaller version just won’t cut it. You can make small batches still but the extra quart with this one compared to the smaller one is definitely a plus for me because of the larger meals I cook a few times a year.

Bread making became a breeze. Made dough for variety of dishes using whole wheat flour. Everything came out perfect. Pasta attachment created whole wheat fresh pasta with much less effort. Cakes batter is easy. It would have been nice if had scrapping mixer blade with the unit. I wish kitchenaid creates blender attachment to prepare soups, shakes and smoothies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my mixer. I've had it a little over a month. The Agave color is gorgeous and this machine saves me time and money. I make bread, pizza dough, cookies, etc from scratch now. I shred/slice veggies and cheese in no time at all with the shredder/slicer attachment. I also purchased the ice cream maker attachment and can make delicious homemade ice cream with just a couple ingredients for much less than it costs to buy ice cream at the store. The only bummer for me is that although I thought I researched enough to choose between bowl-lift and tilt-head now that I have a bowl-lift I see that it's not compatible with their bread bowl or the beautiful replacement bowls. I wonder what else isn't compatible. So, now I kind of wish I had bought a tilt-head mixer. That being said, I'm happy to have a mixer at all and it seems of top notch quality that will last a lifetime plus!
