Got this for $40. At that price the value is incredible. Very easy to use and clean. I rarely pull out the blender since I’ve gotten this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to make a smoothie and to cream potatoes after done. The first one said a pan guard was included. Nope. They don’t make the pan guards anymore. But bless me I could upgrade to the one with guard. So I did. Purpose was to not ruin Teflon skillets (arthritis). Guess what. Pan guard came off. Yes it was on properly and ruined my skillet. So not pleased. Offer to let me upgrade! No

    Disappointed with engineering/ production

I think (hope) they may have pulled the KHBV53ER - at least I don't see it listed on site right now, but it is essentially looks the same as the one listed here - right down to the price point, so I suspect it is largely the same model. I would hope that they have discontinued the former and re-issued with a new pan guard, but if they haven't then I would suggest you give this a pass if the pan guard is part of the appeal to you. After all the Kitchenaid products I have bought I just couldn't imagine they would put out anything that wasn't of great quality - even in an economy model. The pan guard is a disaster, not that it isn't a good idea, but it's actual production or maybe engineering is pretty bad. The pan guard does not fit snugly and so it can fall off really easily and, of course, as soon as it does it will impact the blades and you have a bunch of shredded plastic in your morning smoothie. I am so disappointed, although for the rest of the functionality of the product, I have had no problems. I just have to use appropriate mixing bowls, etc. so I don't need the pan guard. That earns Kitchenaid two stars, but the failure of the pan guard makes me doubt the integrity of the product line, which I had come to depend on.

I purchased this blender to replace my old one, Kitchenaid , which I loved but the rubber button brock (after 10 years of use is ok). Unfortunately, the new one is not powerful at all. Useless in my kitchen. I don't know if I can return it, but I can't use it. If you do more then milkshake, don't buy.

The blender functions well. You must have the blender near an A/C power outlet or use an extension cord; the provided A/C power cord is short. The open "windows" along the metal enclosure around the blade help to flush water through to clean the blade area. It is a good design. To Manufacturers: Please provide a video demonstrating how to pack all the components (including the clear plastic container with lid) back into the box. This will be helpful for those of us who keep the equipment in the original packing box.

Great blender, but just stopped working

I really enjoyed this blender while it was working. However after less than a year of owning it just stopped working. It will turn on for a minimum of 3 seconds then will just make a buzzing sound and not mix anything. It worked really well when I first got it but now will not even mix liquid let alone anything remotely solid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the hand blender because it has a guard to protect my pots and pans but I do not think it is very secure. I have used my hand blender 2 times since I got it in the past month and the guard already looks very wobbly on the blender shaft, otherwise I would have given it a 5 star review.
