Summary of reviews
Kodiak Cakes Dark Chocolate mix is a favorite among guests for its delicious taste and high protein content, making it a perfect choice for a healthy breakfast or snack. Many enjoy customizing their pancakes with fruits, nuts, or chocolate chips, enhancing the flavor and nutrition. The ease of preparation, requiring just water or milk, adds to its appeal. However, some guests feel the packaging could be improved as it contains more air than product.

The BEST Kodiak mix flavor!!!

I have tried most of Kodiak’s waffle and flapjack mixes, and the dark chocolate flavor is leagues above all others!!! The flavor is rich, but more importantly, it cooks thick and fluffy. The texture is way better than most other mixes (which says a lot, considering that Kodiak is really high quality anyways). I like to meal prep waffles to freeze, and I’ll do a few different flavors at a time, so I’d say the comparison to other flavors is fair.

Healthy Mickey Waffles

We decided to get a Mickey Mouse waffle maker after visiting Disney World and having chocolate Mickey waffles at our hotel. Instead of trying to come up with a recipe for chocolate waffles, I tried this because I have used the buttermilk mix in the past. It is perfect!!! The mini chocolate chips are just like the hotel waffles, and our Mickey waffles are also healthier with more protein and probably less sugar.
Dark chocolate Brownies

I starting making waffles with this product a couple of years ago, but now switched to my own recipe of brownies. I use 2 cups of the dark chocolate mix, add 8 whole eggs and about a half a cup of dark chocolate almond milk. Pour it in a 1/4 inch baking pan and bake for 25min. at 400deg. I cut it in thirds and it makes breakfast for three mornings. Taste better than anything you can buy and has a lot of protein. If anyone has any thoughts about this, like I may be getting too much protein, please let me know. Thanks

As a mom that tries to sneak nutrition into my pre-teen wherever I can, I love this mix. I use it most often to make mug cakes for dessert that have an extra wallop of protein. They taste good, and I feel good about getting some extra protein into my growing boy. It works great for pancakes too, but who can beat 1 minute in the microwave for a delicious dessert. Wish it was a little cheaper, but hey the worlds expensive right now.
Nutrition Label is confusing at best or misleading

The nutrition label is very confusing. Is 1 serving 1/3 cup of dry mix? And, if so, does that 1 serving have 12g of protein and make three 4" cakes? Or, am I following the recipe on the back that suggests 4 pancakes per 1 cup of dry mix. Additionally, the back shows three different ways to change the amount of protein in your recipe (e.g. with milk and/or an egg) boosting the 12g to potential 18g. Is that per cake as the serving size suggests (as a reminder 1/3 cup has 12g protein)? Lastly, the nutrition values have changed several times but the protein advertisement on the back has not changed.

I made two batches of muffins with this mix - the viral one with 2 cups mix plus 1 Fairlife protein shake, and then a more typical muffin recipe with sweetener, egg, etc. Both of them were totally disgusting - partially because of the texture of this mix. It has a rubbery feeling that’s kind of like tough quiche. The protein shakes are thick and super syrupy sweet so it was confusing to get bland rubbery muffins using that method. I figured adding more typical ingredients plus sweetener would help but not at all. It’s like the mix sucks up all the flavor of what it’s mixed with, it’s very weird.

Thank you for your feedback! We do show that this is the Flapjack Mix that is for flapjacks & waffles. However, we do have a Double Dark Chocolate Muffin mix you may enjoy more for muffins!
Excellent.

Delicious. I fix them with milk & egg for extra protein & calcium. Sometimes I add sliced bananas or dark chocolate chips. Rhubarb sauce is a good topping for even more calcium. They do not make as many as I had hoped for the price.

I definitely enjoy Kodiak cakes products they make a very great product. Packaging seems to be a bit over the top similar to a potato chip bag Kodiak cakes have what’s called a snackmossphere. In which half the box or bag is just air

LOVE this pancake mix. My fiancé and I add a banana to it to better the taste and texture. They burn easily on a non stick pan so we cook it between 2 and 4

These are my absolute favorite!! I make these often and always make the whole box. If there are any left, I wrap them and refrigerate or freeze them. This way, they are ready in a flash after a few seconds in the microwave!! On a rushed morning, it's nice to know that a delicious, hearty breakfast can be mine within a few seconds. The whole grains and protein provide a balanced breakfast that will keep me going and feeling great until the next meal. The best part is that they are not sugary sweet! Love 'em!!!

To my surprise I paid 5 dollars for less than a half full bag. Pretty disappointed. Been super excited to try these but the price needs to be lowered if you’re basically just buying air.

My daughter eats a chocolate waffle for breakfast every morning and has for years. I make one box at a time and keep them in the freezer. It's perfect for a picky child. She loves the taste and I love she's getting some whole grains and protein in every bite

The recipe for standard pancakes printed on Kodiak box ( 1 cup mix and 1cup water) is totally incorrect. You have to shovel the batter into pan. Makes awful pancakes !
