Description

More protection, less worry. New moms deserve better care for C-section recovery. Our Soothies C-section Recovery Pad protects your incision after stitches come out, when the wound is closed but still healing. Perfect for those early days postpartum, you can start using our pads about a week after birth, unlike a scar cream which can’t be used until the wound is fully healed (about 6 weeks after birth). Our C-Section pads include gel padding to minimize friction and rubbing as you move, plus provide cooling, soothing relief for your tender, itchy, healing skin. Sterilized for hygiene and designed for all day wear, with a gentle adhesive border to keep the pad in place, even in the shower! Includes 4 single-use medical grade pads. Wear each pad for up to 72 hours. A postpartum essential for C-section moms.

For nearly 40 years, new mothers have trusted Lansinoh to support and care for them while they enter the messy magic of motherhood. Born from one mother’s realization that birthing people often go without the support they need and deserve, Lansinoh proudly stands with mothers all over the world. Our journey started with award winning, doctor recommended HPA Lanolin Nipple Cream: today, we offer a comprehensive collection of solutions to help new parents navigate pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and pumping. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had recovery pads on my registry list, so when I received these to test from the Stellar Product Teating Panel I was super excited. This is my second C-section and the recovery is no joke. They came in a pack of 4 all individually wrapped. They were easy to apply and the cooling gel felt really good on my incision. I wore them for the full 72 hours and they stayed on great. I was able to shower with them on too. It was nice to have these pads covering the incision and kept my clothes from rubbing against my incision. I have a 1 year old at home and these helped make my incision feel more protected with her climbing on me. Would use in any future pregnancies as well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so glad to have received these from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I used them for my second c-section, so I can attest that they definitely do as promised me help soothe the itchy sore incision as compared to not using them. Having the ability to chill them is a nice touch too. My favorite part of these is how it prevents rubbing so I do feel protected. My incision tends to burn when rubbed, and these have prevented that!

    Awesome for csection mamas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am truly amazed at how well these pads have worked for my incision. I feel truly protected when I have the pad on. I feel like the pad has helped me feel more secure when I am doing certain activities like bending to get something from the floor my 2 year old dropped or when taking a shower. I feel better wearing the pad when I shower as I know the incision will not get soaked in these days that it is still in the healing stage. I love that I can wear whatever underwear or clothing I want and it will not rub or irritate the incision. Putting the pad in the fridge to make it cooler before applying feels great but it doesn't last long. I would definitely recommend these pads to all the mama's who've had a c-section. I wish I had these when I had my first child via c-section. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Hi Lmf84, Thank you for taking the time to try our newest product and providing your feedback. We're glad that you are enjoying the pads so far. Our Soothies C-section Recovery Pads were developed to deliver instant cooling relief upon contact and to protect the incision but are not intended for prolonged cooling. For extended cooling, we recommend using our Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Packs. Soothing Protection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this was my third child, it was my first c-section and I was incredibly anxious about it. When I recieved the cooling pads, I was grateful that there was at least some promise of relief. I didn't use the pads until I was about 4 weeks postpartum, when I was certain my incision was healed. My very favorite part of this product was the extra protection I felt like it provided my incision. It may seem like a small, trivial thing but it really helped knowing there was an extra "layer" between my still-healing scar and the rest of the world. Friction and rubbing that was an issue with waitbands post-surgery were immediately gone as soon as I out the pad on. It was amazing! With that said, I often forgot I was even wearing the pad, it was so comfortable. It was a breeze to put on and the adhesive did a great job at staying put. The cooling part of the pad is what was lacking for me. Straight out of the box, I didn't feel any cooling sensation. I tried putting the pad on after placing them in the fridge and that did help, but the cooling sensation didn't last as long as I was hoping. Overall, I loved the product for an added layer of protection over my incision to help with friction and irritation. As far as cooling sensation, this would not be the first thing I'd reach for. I recieved this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Nice product but uncomfortable to remove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good: The soothing pad felt nice going on; it does have cooling properties at the outset but they don't seem to last long. I left it on for 24 hours and honestly forgot it was there. I did not feel irritation or itching. I did like having an extra layer of protection between my incision and my clothes. The bad: It was uncomfortable to remove. I tried to remove it before getting in the shower, per the instructions, but it wasn't coming off easily, so I finished removing it in the shower. My skin has been sensitive following my surgery (I developed postpartum hives likely as a result of a disinfectant or tape used in the procedure), and the strong adhesive was a little bit painful to remove. It also pulled hair due to where the incision is located. Overall, I wish it came off more gently, as it is otherwise a nice product. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Hello JD21, We sincerely appreciate your time and effort in providing us with your feedback and testing our latest product. We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with the product. Our Soothies C-section Recovery Pads were developed to deliver instant cooling relief upon contact and to protect the incision but are not intended for prolonged cooling. For extended cooling, we recommend using our Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Packs. Additionally, when applying the pads, please ensure the area is clean and dry, and that the hair has been appropriately trimmed in the application region. This will help to eliminate any potential discomfort when removing the pad. Here are a few tips to assist with removing the pad in the future. 1) Hold the center of the pad with one hand 2) With the other hand, carefully lift one side of the dressing edge of the pad while maintaining light pressure on the center of the pad. 3) Slowly pull outwards towards your hips, rather than upwards to gently release the adhesive. 4) Continue to work your way around the pad, following the same direction as any hair growth, delicately releasing the remaining adhesive. We hope this helps. If you have any additional feedback or questions, please send an email to wecare@lansinoh.com. Thank you. "

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Soothies C-section Recovery Pads gave me much needed relief on my incision. The directions were clearly written on the box and each individual recovery pad package. Application of the pad was a little difficult. I had to use one hand to hold up my skin that folded over and the other hand to put the pad into place. I wish the gel pad was a littler longer as this is my 2nd C-section and my incision is longer this time. After a couple attempts, I was able to fit the gel pad on my entire incision. The adhesive part of the pad was very nice and sticky even after my couple attempts of applying. I wore this pad for almost 24 hours and it was very comfortable. The pad stuck on so nicely that I almost forgot I had it on. My favorite part about this product is that it protected my incision from fabric rubbing against it, which means I was able to wear regular underwear that rests on my incision! In addition, a small part of my incision was a little red, the gel pad protected me from itching and the redness went away after I took off the pad. Taking off the pad only hurt a little but it went away seconds after taking off the pad. The minor pain was only on my skin where the adhesive was at, my incision did not hurt and looked great. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Soothies C-section Recovery Pads.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited about these c-section recovery pads but they weren’t as soothing as I thought they would be. The first one I tried straight from the box and did not feel any cooling sensation from the pad. The second pad I refrigerated for over 24 hours and it felt cool to the touch but once I put it on my incision I did not experience the cooling sensation. The pad itself stayed in place well, was barely noticeable as I went about my day, and protected my incision from rubbing, which was was nice, but when it came time to remove the pad it was painful on the skin above my incision. I tried a couple ways of removing it and found the best way was to remove half from right to left and then the other half from left to right. Unfortunately, the dread of removing it outweighed the benefits the pad provided, so if you’re sensitive to pain I do not recommend using this recovery pad. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to test these recovery pads.

But they have help a lot with soothing the incision and also creating a barrier when I used my recovery band. It didn’t rub against my scar. Overall was a good product to use postpartum c section recovery.

I still have glue on the incision site but my doctor cleared me to use them. The gel pads are comfortable to wear and don't feel like anything once you have them on. I liked how it created a barrier so that my clothes wouldn't rub against me. The pads made it so that I could wear pants and shorts that otherwise would be uncomfortable for me. I was given this postpartum recovery item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lansinoh C-Section Soothies are super easy to apply, and left my incision site feeling great! I started using them 3 and a half weeks after my c-section, once my Dr. cleared me to do so, and I was so pleasantly surprised by this product. When I was wearing this it made me almost forget that I had just had major surgery! This made wearing clothing much more comfortable, as things were no longer rubbing or touching the very sensitive area. They somehow made me feel more pulled together, yet at the same time I almost forgot I had it on. I was nervous about peeling it off after 72 hours, but it was relatively painless and came off easily. I love how it's not sticky on the area that goes over the actual incision, making removal a breeze. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panelf or providing me with this product to test and review!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Soothies C-Section recovery pads have been a life saver post surgery. I received a sample of the recovery strips via Stellar testing panel and have sought out more packs after using the initial box. The strips provide a barrier against any rubbing post surgery. I waited 10 days after my surgery and after my OBGYN removed glue and tried my first one. The provided coverage that stopped itching and soothed the burning / searing pain around my incision. For extra cooling, I put the bios of strips in my refrigerator. I highly recommend doing this especially when the incision reaches its itchiest point. It takes about roughly 60 to 120 seconds for you to feel full relief. Removal of the strip can be tricky at first but if you truly follow the directions it is much easier. The strips are non visible thru clothing and I carried them in my diaper bags just in case I urgently needed one of the go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to review through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This was my second C-section and I gave these a try 11 days post surgery. My external wound was 99% closed and I didn't have any external stitches. The pad that goes over your incision is somewhat sticky so I would advise to wait until you have no external scabs or wounds before using this. It was a bit uncomfortable to remove as it pulls. The cooling sensation lasts about an hour which did feel nice especially on the itchy healing skin. It did help with preventing any rubbing sensation from clothing. I think these would be great to use further on in your recovery for scar desensitizing more than a healing aid right after surgery.

They offer so much relief to my healing incision. One of the best things about these recovery pads is how easy the directions were to follow. I love that there is a label for step one and for step two on the pad. It ensures that you won’t put them on incorrectly. When the pad is on your actual skin, you can feel the cooling sensation right away, which feels amazing! The pad also provides you with a secure fit so you can minimize rubbing. Even after the 72 hours, the rubbing was extremely minimal. I found comfort in knowing there is a product out there that supports healing after having a C-section.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this postpartum recovery item. I tested the smoothies c-section recovery pads about 4 days after my c-section when my c-section was fresh and the site was still swollen. I felt the cooling gel effect immediately when placing the pad on the site. However, the cooling effect went away quickly and I did not feel it anymore. Would be nice if it stayed cooled for a few more hours. Along with the cooling effect and the adhesion/sticky part is where I give this product 2 stars. Being honest, I was terrified on taking the product off since my site was swollen and still healing. It took about 10 minutes to get the pad off without hurting myself or the site. The directions should have been more clear and given pictures on how to take it off. The adhesion is only on the edges of the pad. The gel pad itself should only sit on your in Edison site. To take it off without any pain, the best way is to hold the edges with one hand while slowly pulling up on the edge with the other hand. If the incision site was higher, you are not swollen, was not on hair, and the incision sits directly in gel pad I can see this product helping and protecting the site. Aside from that, I personally would not buy this product again. If they can adjust the adhesion or do away with it, I would try it again.

I kept them in the refrigerator which made it feel extra soothing when I applied it on my scar. It also gave me additional padding in case I bumped into anything such as my counter with rinsing dishes. If I have another baby, I will make sure to have these on hand when I get home from the hospital- I strongly recommend them for any new mom who has a c-section!

I have mixed feelings and am hoping to give them another shot. The package says you are able to use after stitches or staples have been removed and you are still healing- I applied one soothie after a week from my surgery and I liked how secure and comfortable they were! I felt like my incision was safe from any rubbing and also it helped with the itchiness I felt. I removed after 2 days since you can wear up to 3, and unfortunately it pulled some scabs and glue off and caused an opening. I have yet to try again and am waiting for the last bit of glue to fall off before applying. I suggest not applying with any type of scab or glue reside still stuck on healing incision!
