A: The photo if the box says 24mm.
submitted byCfox - 8 years agoA: Yes and no. The size of your breast makes mo mind to what size MM shield you need. What does determine what you need is how large your nipple is and the age of your baby. Typically the 24MM is for small nipples and/or a newborn. Seek the advice of a certified lactation consultant to help determine the best fit for you and your baby. Ask your OBGYN or Pediatrician if you need a reference to a Lactation Consultant.

The shield was amazing when establishing breastfeeding, my baby wouldn't latch correctly at first, so it saved my nips and helped him develop a good latch!

Great product and works well. I like that there is less plastic at the top to allow my babies nose to be in contact with the breast. It helps feel more natural and I’m less worried about how he is breathing throughout the feed

The nipple shaft sticks out so far. When Baby tried to latch, I had to hold them so far away, and most of the time the guard would get knocked out of place while Baby was still 3 inches away. So frustrating to use.

The case that the shields come with is nice but overall I think I prefer a different brand shield. These shields are a little thicker and the nipple is shorter which makes latching a little harder. I will definitely keep these as spares for my car and diaper bag in case of an emergency.

I was hopeful these would help my son nurse since he has a tongue tie and struggles but he got so frustrated by these that they made it worse. These did not work for me.

Hello Jubilee, It is best to have a consultation with a lactation professional prior to using a nipple shield. The consultant will be able to assess needs of mom and baby and make any recommendations. Additionally, the Lactation professional will be able to help address the underlying issue that requires the use of the nipple shield and advise on how to wean from using the shield.

Definitely helped with nipple pain however did leave a lot of “air” in front of nipple and I felt that my baby was not able to latch onto it which increased reflux/swallowed air.

These did not work for me in any way, in fact they made nursing worse. These were recommended by my babies pediatrician, a lactation consultant, and mom friends. I was having major latching issues and was willing to try anything. Unfortunately, these made the pain and latching issue worse.

My baby wasn't latching well so I got these and the good thing is it help him latch. But I could tell he wasn't getting enough milk, he would fall asleep on the breast from being tired of sucking. One thing I was never told is that it could decrease milk supply due to not a deep enough latch and that's exactly what happy with me. I've been using them for 3 weeks, my baby is 2 1/2 months and my supply is low and baby is fussy from not being full. The product is okay. I use them as directed but they still slip around and curve off of the breast while baby is latched. REMEMBER: this is only a short term solution, do not use too long or your supply will plummet.
