Hi there, Thank you for sharing this feedback on our NaturalWave nipple. We're sorry to hear about your experience with the flow on the slow flow nipple. We designed our NaturalWave nipple to create an experience that mimics breastfeeding. With regard to the flow, our slow (2S) flow nipple is designed to drip while inverted. In order to help your baby learn how to handle the flow, we recommend holding the baby in a more upright fashion and holding the bottle more horizontally to decrease the dripping. We hope this helps! If you have any other feedback that you would like to share, please send an email to customerservice@lansinoh.com. Thank you.

I bought these bottles and tried to get the slowest nipple because we have been having nipple confusion. I really wanted to love these so bad, but the flow is so stinking fast that my baby is downing a 5 oz bottle in like 10 mins. which is wayyyyyyy faster than my breast. when I try to latch him, he screams because he wants the fast flow of the bottle. I'm so upset and want him to be able to go back and forth better. please make a slower flow nipple!!!

Love the shape of the nipples and it gives baby very similar latch to breastfeeding, however the slow flow nipple is way too fast. I do paced feeding, holding the bottle horizontal and sitting baby up and its still way too fast. These would be perfect with a slower flow nipple.

I purchased these for baby #3 after having two successful BF babies who also took bottles occasionally. I wanted to love these bottles so much because I loved the shape of the nipple but the flow is way too fast my baby would try to drink and be drowned. There was no way for her to stop the flow in order to breath which lead to so much frustration for mom and baby!! I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one to feel this way after reading these reviews. PLEASE make a slower flow.

Hello Elsa, Thank you for your feedback. Our slow flow nipples are specifically designed to support a baby's natural feeding rhythm, mimicking breastfeeding as closely as possible. We understand that every baby is different, and while our nipples work well for many families, we recognize they may not be the perfect fit for everyone. In order to help your baby learn how to handle the flow, we recommend holding the baby in a more upright fashion and holding the bottle more horizontally to decrease the dripping. If the flow speed doesn't meet your needs, we recommend exploring other options that might be better suited for your baby. We appreciate your understanding.

My daughter refused bottles until switching to a faster flowing nipple. The nipple kept collapsing while my daughter was drinking her bottle, but eventually I figured out how to fix it. The opening needs to be on top so air can escape and if it still doesn’t fix the issues you need to make sure the little air hole is actually open on the inside lip of the nipple. Sometimes it just needs to be pinched a bit to open up.

Work well for breastfed baby, but leaks a bit due to faster flow than other brands
1 reply from Lansinoh Team team - 6 months ago
Hello Apack, Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback on our Breastfeeding Bottles with Slow Flow NaturalWave nipples. We're sorry to hear about your experience. We designed our NaturalWave nipples to create an experience that is similar to that of the breast. Because the nipple stretches when a baby nurses, we wanted our NaturalWave nipple to mimic this so that transitioning between the bottle and breast would be easier. Our NaturalWave nipple is clinically proven to reduce nipple confusion. That said, our slow flow (2S) nipple is designed to drip while inverted, so this may explain the leaking that you described. Nonetheless, we welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Please send an email to customerservice@lansinoh.com. We look forward to working with you.

Nipple shape is great. Baby latches on easily and switches from breast no problem. However, this is NOT a slow flow nipple despite its name. It is very fast. We have to stop and wipe her spit up every few gulps! It’s a faster flow than the default medium flow nipples we have from Lansinoh!

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. Our slow flow nipples are specifically designed to support a baby's natural feeding rhythm, mimicking breastfeeding as closely as possible. Our 3M, medium flow nipple is not designed to drip like our 2S, Slow Flow Nipple. The medium flow nipple is designed to allow milk to flow when there is pressure on the nipple. This helps the baby to control the flow of milk and train their sucking ability.

You'd think that with how many complaints and for how far back the complaints go about flow speed, lansinoh would surely make some adjustments. I'm guessing they manufactured way too many and can't afford to remake the nipples or are just a "the customer is always wrong" business.

Love the shape and ease of these bottles but like almost every other review says, the slow flow is way too fast! Such a disappointment considering these are the closest to mimicking the breast. My breastfed baby now fusses when latched at night because my flow (which isn’t slow by any means) isn’t fast enough for her at night.

I love the lansinoh bottles and nipples…EXCEPT the flow. Much like other users, and quite honestly with the number of people that have had the same issue I don’t know why Lansinoh hasn’t made another slower version yet - but I digress, the slow flow is not even close to slow enough. I wouldn’t say I have a slow flow myself, and my 10 week old is gasping and choking. And for those saying “try to pace feed” etc….this is WITH pace feeding. The second I tilt the bottle it begins. It’s absurd as a level one pace. At least Pigeon has figured out the fix and is certainly capitalizing on all of these breastfeeding moms that need a slower flow bottle nipple. Highly recommend the 0+ ss nipple and it’s compatible with Lansinoh. Lansinoh- please take note- when this many people have the same issue, the problem isn’t us. It’s you. Please LISTEN to your customers.

Hello Mandy, Thank you for sharing your feedback on our NaturalWave nipple. We designed the slow (2S) flow nipple to mimic breastfeeding, which is why it drips when inverted. To help manage the flow, try holding the bottle more horizontally and your baby more upright. If this does not help, please wait until your baby is older to try the nipples again. We appreciate your input and will share your comments with our product development team for consideration.

Slow Flow is NOT Slow

Unsure why the slow flow complaints aren’t being taken seriously by company, but it’s very frustrating. My newborn won’t take a bottle, but this one went very well EXCEPT it was completely flooding her out. How is this similar to a breast when the flow is SO much faster? We just need a slower flow nipple option - similar to Dr Browns P and 1. Sitting her upright and pace feeding does not combat the incredibly fast flow of the 2s.
1 reply from Lansinoh Support team - 11 months ago
Hello Lola, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with our Natural Wave Nipples. We understand how important it is to find the right feeding solution for your newborn. Currently, our 2S is our slowest flow nipple. However, we recognize that every baby is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Consulting with your pediatrician or a lactation consultant could be helpful, as they might be able to provide further guidance on where to find different slow flow nipples or suggest alternative solutions to suit your baby's needs.

I’ve been using Lansinoh bottles with my twins since they were born since we have to supplement with formula. We have no issue with the flow, they spill milk sometimes and it’s definitely not the nipple flow because one twin doesn’t spill a single drop while the other one every now and them soaks a bib. These promote a wide latch and I think it was one of the things that helped my twins latch onto the breast, they were born very small and had a hard time latching. We started with the smaller bottles and quickly realized that we needed the bigger ones, so we purchased multiple 2S nipples for the bigger bottles and that’s what we’re still using at almost 4 months. Also, a great hack is to purchase the Lansinoh nipples and use them with the Parents Choice wide neck bottles!!

These have helped my son's latch (he is 2 my months old and had bottle in NICU so we struggle with him in nursing) but the slow flow nipple is way to fast even sitting up with the bottle not totally inverted. It seems many babies would do better with a slower flow nipple from reading these reviews. Please consider what your customers are asking for. Love the rest of the products I use from Lansinoh

Does not reduce colic

Kim - 1 year ago
In the beginning the slow flow was too fast until my baby got to be about 2 months old then it became too slow and challenging. The little air hole does nothing for anti colic. I bought 12 of these bottles and now we don’t use any of them because his gas was so bad during the 2 weeks we used them. So we switched brands.
1 reply from Lansinoh Team team - 1 year ago
Hello Kim, The small hole that you are referring to is our Air Ventilation System® (AVS). The Air Ventilation System® reduces the intake of air, so, in turn, reduces the potential cause of gas. For the best performance, we recommend aligning the AVS with the baby's nose. We hope this helps! If you have any additional feedback or questions, please send an email to wecare@lansinoh.com. Thank you.

The quality of the product is nice but their "slow flow" nipple (size 2s) is far from a slow flow nipple. If you hold the bottle so there is liquid in the nipple the liquid drips out very rapidly, even with a small amount of liquid in the bottle. They need a size 1 nipple option. If their flow rates were comparable to other brands this product might be worth it but as of now I would not recommend. Avent has a slow flow option for anyone looking for a more accurate flow rate.

Bought this for my newborn to have a bottle that would complement the breastfeeding since I will need to go back to work but the slow flow nipple is way to fast for my newborn. She chokes on it just as much as she does with my oversupply and fast letdown within the first few weeks of birth regardless of baby and bottle positioning They need a slower flow nipple.
1 reply from Lansinoh Support team - 1 year ago
Hello AKchick, Thank you for providing your feedback. We understand your need for level 1 nipples for bottles, but unfortunately, we do not carry any products smaller than 2S, which is considered our slow-flow nipples. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To help your baby learn how to handle the flow, we recommend holding the baby in a more upright fashion and holding the bottle more horizontally to decrease the dripping. Additionally, it could be helpful to consult with your pediatrician or lactation consultant, as they might be able to provide further guidance on where to find level 1 nipples or suggest alternative solutions.
