Description

Introduce kids to angles, trajectories, and other early physics fundamentals with the Crashapult STEM Challenge from Learning Resources. Now preschool activities such as this hands-on activity set challenges kids to build and complete high-flying obstacle courses designed around core STEM concepts. After setting up their catapults, kids send the launch balls flying off walls, over obstacles, and toward the set’s included hoop target, funnel, or goal cup. Be careful when assembling

Be careful when you insert the orange funnel into the holder. The grey bracket/arm cracked when my son was assembling it brand new out of the box. Would have given more stars had the piece not cracked when assembling.

My students also loved this stem activity. I had the balls being shot all over the place with them trying to figure out more ways to interact with the activity.

I received this product as part of an incentivized review program. This product challenged the students to think about how they would structure it in order for it to work. I was expecting the materials to be bigger. It comes out to be a small layout. Overall the students enjoyed using it. I would like to see more products like this in the future. I would recommend this product.

Fun STEM Challenge for Variety of Ages

I love the STEM challenge products offered by Learning Resources, and this set is no exception. My favorite aspect of this set is that it coordinates with the Wacky Wheels and Pendulonium Sets. My child is 10 years old, and he definitely loves the added challenge of combining sets. There are a variety of challenges provided in the simple, easy-to-follow instructions. After children have mastered those, they are encouraged to create their own challenges. I LOVE that. The best learning occurs when children can explore and discover on their own, and this set encourages them to do just that. I highly recommend it. I received this toy as a part of an incentivized review program.

This was great for my son to play with and try to figure out what angles work and will not work from the concept of the game. It made him think differently. He really enjoyed throwing the balls through the hoop. Great way to introduce stem into his educational learning.

Fun with physics

This toy is an excellent introduction to physics. As we played, it was apparent that my daughter was slowly beginning to recognize the effects of force, motion and direction --concepts which are otherwise far too confusing to explain in words. The toy requires some simple assembly, clicking a few pieces together and placing stickers on the individual pieces. Nothing complicated. There is a little ball, which is placed on the see-saw catapult. The challenge is to cause the ball to fly or bounce through various hoop-like pieces. For a young kid, it is fun just to cause the ball to fly at varying distances and directions. Well made with bright colors, this toy is a creative approach to a complex topic. I received this product as part of an incentivized review program.

This is a good activity to play with my son because it's teaches STEM concepts in a fun way. It reminds me of flicking paper footballs in grade school and I thought it be an easy way to feel confident that our playtime was educational also. We have fun setting up our own challenges with the set. The set is very durable and made well.

We decided yo put this together one cold weekend afternoon for something to do as a family. My two fourteen year olds and my four year old and I played with it for several hours. It was easy to put together, seems very durable and every one enjoyed it. I like that it came with two balls since my four year old has a hard time sharing so she just kept one and we played with the other one. Love that they are able to learn through play without even realizing it! Would recommend this engaging toy for a wide range of kids and adults.

This product is well made. And was packaged well. It came with all of the pieces in the box and stickers that needed to be applied. It only took a few minutes to get all of the stickers in place. My six year old daughter had fun with this product. I love that it is something educational for her to play with. It involves thinking and problem solving. It also works on motor skills with the catapult. I did mark it down one star only because my daughter does not play with it often. She sees it as a game, but does not enjoy it as much as other games she has. I still think it is a great educational product. And I love having it for anytime she is in the mood to play with it. I received this product as part of an incentive review program.

Introduce your little ones to physics!

This activity set is great for teaching kids concepts of angles, and trajectories. The instructions were in pictures which was easy for my kids to assemble themselves. I actually like the set visually without the stickers but my kids had fun putting it on to complete the look. My kids had fun experimenting and trying to figure out how much pressure to apply to send the balls flying through the air and toward targets with the help of the included catapult. There are two balls which is nice so that both of my children can each have her own. It is a fun activity to do as a family after dinner for us! I like the fact that I can have quality time with my family and can talk about why the ball didn't go through the target and how we can improve to get through the target. Love that no batteries are required or any other tool necessary and everything is provided. I received this product as part of an incentive review program.

Best problem thinking game ever!

I received the Crashapult STEM challenge toy for being a part of a review program. My kids are ages 4 and 6 so this is the perfect age to get those little minds thinking! It comes in a nice sturdy box with a view of everything that is included in the box. I am easily able to store everything in the box for future use and the box shape fits perfectly with our other game/building boxes. Just from the front picture you can tell it's going to be fun! The instructions are an accordion guide to different ways to set up the kit for some beginner ideas. There are no words, just pictures so the kids can easily follow along. I am planning on laminating the cards so they will last a long time. There is a sticker sheet to place some stickers on the pieces but that wasn't hard to do at all. The pieces themselves are very durable with a bright green and orange color. The bright colors make it enticing for my kids. I don't feel there will be any problem with the pieces breaking. The green ring is bendable but I can bend it a lot and still keeps its shape. I LOVE the fact it comes with 2 balls so my kids aren't fighting over the ball and can take turns quickly. So far my kids have spend a lot of time playing with this toy. I'm so glad to see them having fun while also using their head to figure out how hard they need to hit the catapult and setting the distance of the funnel. I have already seen them make up their own ideas! This is fun for adults too! Why not invite some adult friends over for a game night! I would definitely recommend this toy!

Endless play options for this fun game!

This is such a fun game! It says ages 5+ but my almost 3.5 year loved this game! I love games where my kids are learning without realizing it because they are having so much fun and this is one of those fun and educational games! There are so many different ways to set up and play this game so you can adjust it based on the ages of your kids. Even adults will love this! My husband, daughter and I loved playing this game together while baby sister was napping! I really like that my daughter is already learning about physics without even realizing it! The activity guide is very helpful with some good starting challenges but really this game is so customizable so you and/or your child can invent your own obstacle course. I love how all the pieces can fit in the box for storage. I love that this game will be played with for years to come as there isn't just one way to play it! Definitely will be a fun present to give to other kids for birthday presents, Christmas gifts, etc.

Fun, durable activity

Crashapult is fairly straightforward to apply the stickers and play with it. The game comes with a challenge booklet with different ways to set up the targets, which is nice to include! My daughter and her two friends had fun setting the targets up in their own ways. Overall, the pieces seem durable, which I find important for a game like this. CON: For the target shaped like a funnel, if my daughter did not hit the funnel in exactly the middle, the ball would just bounce out. I imagined it to be more like a backboard on a basketball net where as long as you hit a certain area, the ball would still go down the funnel. This caused a little frustration for her. I received this product in return for an honest review.

Fun interactive game for two or more

I received this product as part of an incentivized review program. Crashapult is such a fun game for any kid. Both my son and daughter have not stopped playing with it since we opened it. It easy to put together and store after each use. All of the pieces fit in the box intact except for the hoop target. You have to disassemble it before putting it away. I do wish that the box was a little sturdier like some of the other LR products I have bought in the past. I do love that they included different ideas on the back of the box. My kids wanted to build it just like the picture at first. Each item was bagged separately and you had to figure out how to assemble it on your own. However, using the picture on the back of the box made it easy for the kids to put it together. They didn't need any help from me. The instructions had pictures for my kids to look at so they can set up the challenge. The kids set it up, played with it and had no problems cleaning it up on their own. They loved using the challenge booklet, but spent more time just making up their own challenges. That is why I like this game. There are ways for them to get ideas to set up the challenges, but at the same time it gives them the freedom to use their own creativity to think of their own challenges. It was a lot of fun to watch them interact and give each other points on how to get the ball to land where it is. There was a lot of trial and error and different techniques tried to see how to get the ball into the target. It helps to play the game on a rug or carpet. If you miss, the ball will roll away less for the kids. I would definitely recommend it to another friend, especially if they have two kids. My kids played together to see if they could beat each other's number of attempts for each challenge.
