My 1st grade students were very excited about these and enjoyed building shapes, however the ends break extremally easy. First day of use in centers, I had 5 ends break off.

We use this product with our child. We have lots of fun but the connection pieces break really easily. They have even snapped off under their own weight while adjusting another part of a build. It is disappointing as there are such cool designs and ways to play but I will not keep buying sets to replace broken pieces.

I have Zometools in my classroom, but they are very difficult for most kindergarten and some first grader students to use. This is a great set for students to be able to do the same types of things that Zometools do.

Haven't used it with the kiddos in class. Just bought it this summer for the new year. Have been modifying my math lesson plans. Wanted to upgrade 3 dimensional shapes. It has been hard finding something that the children can actually build the shape themselves. I love this. Am anticipating it being very popular in the classroom so I may have to see if my budget will allow for second set.

These are perfect to have students create shapes independently. They are easy to use and manipulate. They have helped my students to recognize shape attributes and have allowed them to describe shapes more accurately. Love!!

Learning Resources has rocked it again with their Geometric Shapes Building Set. It is a set of 90 sticks in 3 different sizes and 48 sphere shaped connectors. They are colorful and durable to allow for children to create to their heart's desire. There are no directions but just to dive in and start connecting and building. Even Mason joined in on the fun! The kids had fun making 2D shapes and even ventured into 3D shapes. More than one child can play with a set as there are plenty of pieces. This would even be great to have in a classroom setting to see how different children use their imaginations to create fantastic things. Mason became a pro at making lollipops and Kenzie was making castles, different animals and more.

We got this set for our 5 year old grand daughter to play with. She loves building sets and will sit for hours and play with them. This set is really unique and you can let your little one's creativity fly. She needed no assistance from us on coming up with her own ideas that she built. Great gift for Birthdays, Holidays or just because!

We got this set for our 5 year old grand daughter who loves building things. This set is really easy for kids to use and the parts are easy to assemble. This is a set that kids can play with on their own & get very creative with what they build. It keeps them entertained for hours!!!

The Learning Resources Geometric Shapes Building Set ™ has given my children a real hands on experience in creating 2-D as well as 3-D shapes! As homeschool parent, I like offering my children a hands-on activity when they are learning about a new concept. I find that if an activity is hands-on, it tends to be more likely remembered. This set is an excellent way to get children moving, thinking, and learning by encouraging open ended play too. This set comes with a Instructions & Use & Care Guide, 90 sticks in 3 sizes (2¼", 3½", 5¼"), 32 curves, and 48 connectors (approximately 1" in diameter). The pieces are large enough to easily be handled by a child. The connectors once connected to another piece stay in without easily coming out. My kids had no issue attaching or detaching the bright and colorful pieces. The pieces come in a round container which the set can be stored back in after use. I like that I don't have to find something else to store the set in after use and that the container takes up a minimal amount of space. My children have spent hours creating things from their imagination. We've also had a lesson in building a variety of shapes often learned about in geometry such as spheres, pentagonal prisms, cubes, cylinders, and many more! I do wish the set had some with some sort of geometric shape sheet or cards showing specific shapes to build. I in turn did some Internet research and found a sheet to print and have my children use along with this this set. So do note, if you are needing an aid to show your children certain shapes, that this set doesn't come with one. Overall, I do believe the Learning Resources Geometric Shapes Building Set ™ is a must have for any school or home classroom in aiding with learning about shapes in math. The set is durable, conveniently store able, offers great hands-on learning for math or open ended play. I most certainly recommend it!

With all the pushing toward academic rigor, common core standards, and math initiatives teachers know the importance of high math expectations. But with these, it doesn't mean math has to be boring. Geometry is one of my favorite subjects to teach. Learning Resources contacted me about reviewing their Geometric Shapes Building Set and of course I said YES! My students love anything hands-on, who doesn't? They loved it and begged to use them. It was an automatic math station with no prep!

Thank you Learning Resources for providing me with a Geometric Shapes Building Set, free of charge, for review on my blog Ahh~Mazing Reviews. These are my own honest opinions. My son's favorite types of toys are any kind of building sets. He has a few different kinds, but his newest favorite is his Geometric Shapes Building Set from Learning Resources. I think he really likes this set because he can easily make letters with the pieces, and he loves trying to spell words no matter what he is playing with. When this toy first arrived, my son immediately wanted to put pieces together to spell his name, Davey. I helped him put his name together, and then had something I needed to do. When I came back to check on Davey, he had spelled out "Davey Did It" with the building set! LOL Then I helped him make house-like structures out of it, and various shapes. This continues to be one of Davey's favorite toys. I love that it helps him with his fine motor skills, as well as creativity. Some of his other building sets came with instructions, and I just cannot get Davey to think outside the box and create much on his own with those sets. The Geometric Shapes Building Set doesn't come with any kind of instructions, which is really a good thing, as it encourages kids to get creative on their own. This building set is the one that Davey gets most creative with!
Fun for exploring with shapes!

This set was a great addition to my Kindergarten classroom. The children really enjoyed exploring with the shape builders. We used them to experiment with 3D shapes at the end of the year, but I'm excited to use them while we are learning/reviewing 2D shapes at the beginning of the school year. I thought the pieces were a bit tricky to snap together, but the children did not have a problem with them! I highly recommend this for math tubs and/or free play for a kindergarten/early childhood classroom!

This item was sent to me to review. The Geometric Shape Building Set comes with a definite recommendation from me and from all 3 of my kids {ages 5, 8, 12}. They all love building toys and will play and build for hours. There are enough pieces to build all sorts of items as an open ended free play toy. You can also use this set for math instruction, showing 2D and 3D shapes. The possibilities are endless!

I received this to review and my kids were definitely drawn to this set right away! It's colorful and the pieces are large enough for younger kids or children with fine motor / grasping skill delays. This is great for hands-on math lessons and activity centers. Make sure you press the pieces firmly together otherwise the shapes may come apart as you try to move them!
