The kids at daycare love these cute little turtles-especially the baby ones! They are fun to mix and match, and work great for dramatic play as well. The opportunity for educational play is there, but with the coordinating colors it’s not too challenging. It is good to just expose children to different shapes, colors, and numbers. My one complaint is that I wish the shell clicked a little more securely, I find the turtle falls apart easily when being played with and then the small baby turtles fall out. Overall this is a well made toy that kids enjoy!

My 24 month old looooves this toy! I put the covers in the bucket and give him one baby turtle at a time and then give him the covers. We just got it so with time I’ll be able to give them to him all at once. Thank you for a great educational toy!

I purchased this for my 19 month old. She has uses it on average 4 to 5 times a week. Now at 20 months she matches them all perfect without verbal prompting and is counting them up to the number 3. She is able to play independently as they are very age friendly. We even purchased an additional set to gift for a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the 5 turtles in my preschool classroom. The children love the turtles. They are a good size for their little hands. I love the shape on the shell and the colorful design. The children enjoy taking the turtle's shell off and identifying the number. It has so many possibilities- shapes, colors, counting and number identification. fun, fun, fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two children- nearly 2 and 4.5. We recently received these turtles. I wasn't sure which age would work best with them. Would they be too hard for my youngest? Too easy for my oldest? Turns out- they're great for both ages. My younger son liked matching the colors. While he can't name the colors yet he was able to pair up the baby, mother's body, and mother's shell that were the same color. As he did this I talked to him about the colors. He was repeating them after me. My older son enjoyed showing off his number skills with the turtles. He named each number and we talked about the shape that had that number of sides. He wasn't too interested in the colors since that's a skill he mastered awhile back. Both boys liked making "silly turtles" by mixing up the shells and bodies. They also made a turtle parade and played together to march the parade around the room. The toy was interactive and able to keep them both interested in much different way.

Fun, but not super challenging for 5 year olds

I work at a child care center. This toy was great for our 2 and 3 year olds. My 5 year olds enjoyed playing with the turtles, but it wasn't very academically stimulating for them. For the older kids, I would love the turtles to be all the same color and then have the numbers on the turtles and shapes on the shells - that way we could work on the 1 to 1 correspondence instead of just matching colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The toddlers in my classroom loved this product. They were so excited playing with the turtles matching colors and shapes they didn't realize they were learning while they were playing. They had fun putting the baby turtles inside the mommy turtles which improved their motor skills.

The packaging that the turtles came in was easy to store in my classroom. The clear container caught my students attention very quickly. Right when they saw the turtles they were excited to explore them. Instructions weren't even nessicary for the toy. It is self explanatory! The toy it's self was very pleasing to the eye, colorful, easy to open, and well made. The children loved using them. They were able to open and close the turtle shell without any help. They could match the smaller turtle to the corresponding shell by its color and numbers. The toy had a way of helping the children count and also focused on color recognition. Also, helped improve their fine motor skills. I would recommend this toy for children 3 or younger. I even enjoyed playing with the turtles myself!

It's so fun watching my child play with these turtles! She will open each and put the baby turtle in, snap them closed, and repeat again. When I sit with her, I'll prompt her asking her to sort by number or color. Very cute to see her imagination run with this toy!

My daughter plays with these nonstop! She is one but not too young to open and close the jar, pack the turtles up and unpack them again, put the baby turtles in the momma turtles bellies, group the mommas & babies separately...endless entertainment! We have not reached the point of appreciating the numbers, but this set is so versatile and sturdy that she will be playing with it for years. I received this product as part of an incentivized review program.
