[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for an Easter gift for one of little friends, Callen. I think he and his older sister will get a kick out of them and learn by using something.

I purchased Smart Snacks Number Pops and Smart Snacks Alpha Pops. Then I use a large colorful box to separate the Ice-cream numbers and the alpha popsicles. Next, I set-up a starting line for the kids at one end of the room and the box at the other. The kids race to the box to match either the dots and cover on the ice-cream or the capitol and small letters on the popsicle, then race back to a table and place their matched item in their small bin. The child with the most correct matching items win! This is great for large and small motor skills, hand and eye coordination, visual, language skills, and it also promotes sharing and unity working together if someone else has your match. I love these toys and so do the kids. Thanks!!!!!

The Smart Snacks Number Pops are for ages 2+ so even though my son is just under 2 I felt he was ready to try them out and of course my 6 year old had to join in the fun. The Smart Snacks Number Pops are fun brightly colored Popsicles. Each pop has a number of colored dots from 1-10 and there is a corresponding colored cover with the number written on it. The covers slide on and off easily. These pops can be used for fine motor, counting, matching, number recognition, and eye hand coordination. Each pop is 4.25"L X 2" W. They are a perfect chunky size for little hands. My almost 2 year old has found many fun things to do with these. He loves to remove the cover and try putting it on. It is really helping him to work on his fine motor skills and eye hand coordination. He is not quite to the color matching or number recognition. That will come in time I'm sure. He also pretends to eat them and that they are phones. My 6 year old likes to mix them up and match the number to the dots. I was provided these in exchange for a honest review on my blog. All thoughts and opinions are my own. You can read more here: http://www.arizonamamablog.com/2014/06/learning-resources-smart-snacks-number.html

We received a sample for review. We're always looking for exciting ways to inspire learning through fun. This set is great for my preschooler and not only helps to reinforce the numbers 1 through 10 but also his colors as well. The pop shapes are a huge hit and he is eager to play with them not realizing he is learning at the same time. My preschooler also likes to set up an ice cream shop and instead of order flavors he has his siblings and cousins order colors. Just like our other Learning Resources products, this set is durable. Withstands hours of play time and learning fun without any fading or chips.
Ice Cream week and Math in one

This is a great activity for kids to reinforce their counting and numbers 1-10. The bottom half of the popsicle has dots for kids to count. The top half of the popsicle can be used in two ways; keep the number and number word together to be matched to the dots, or for more of a challenge, cut apart the number from the number word. (see bonus learning below) Kids can practice counting, matching objects to the correct number and learn how to read number words. Such a cute fun way to practice counting and number recognition! My pre-k class loves this in our math station. Great for my small groups as well. The one thing I do wish is that is was self correcting. Maybe different shapes per ice cream. It is very simple to add the covers over the ice cream and not match them for my younger 2 and 3 year olds. The other concern is that it only goes to 10 and I would have loved 11-20 as well I can also use this during my "Ice Cream" themed week. I am always looking for new ways for children to practice the ten frame dot patterns and this is so appealing to me over all .
