[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 6-year old kindergarten grandson loves the game! He enjoys taking popcorn from the theater-like container, examining the word & saying or sounding it out. He also loves seeing his collection of popcorn accumulate and counting the puffs! The game also assists his parents in assessing his reading progress! - a double win-win! I would highly recommend this game for early readers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this daily in our homeschool. My kiddos absolutely love it. It's great for beginner readers, phonics, and, obviously, sight words! Highly recommend! Your little reader will have such confidence in a short amount of time with reading these sight words!

My daughter Loves these! I was previously writing her sight words on flash cards and she acted like she didn't want to go over her words. She asks to do the popcorn words! We use it as a family game drawing words, spelling, sounding out & saying the words.

This is a fun way to review sight words. Anything that looks like a game is much more engaging than flash cards! The selection of words is just right for my first and second grade students.

I bought this item as I had seen a colleague using it during precision teaching sessions. Although the words are a little easy for my year 4 class (I didn't know where I would be this year...) I will certainly be adapting it to suit my LA children. The design and idea of children picking out popcorn is brilliant. My coordinator has already commented on how much she likes them.

I love the idea of this game, but my daughter tired of it quickly. It is also difficult to learn sight words out of context. My 2-year-old and 5-year-old did love it for playing movie theater though.

How the game works is that each player must attempt to have the most words. The game ends when all the pieces of popcorn are used up. You earn those words which are pieces of popcorn by having read the word featured on them correctly. When you draw a POP! card, you return all the cards you've gained back to the box. This way of playing was a bit discouraging to my daughter being challenged by a few words and achieving those only then having to put them all back and start over. However, one part of the rules is when a word is read incorrectly, you set it aside. Modifying the rules to allow for a retry of one of the set aside words is, in my opinion, a better way to play. Some other ideas are removing the POP! cards entirely, shuffling in the set aside words back in when a POP! is drawn, or some other variant you can come up with. The fact you can make your own house rules is what will keep me using it and probably both my children interested. Overall we pull out this bundle weekly and practice lots of sight word learning. My daughter literally asks for these often but only after we mixed things up. The bundle is a nice combo pack that will help grow your child's sight word knowledge from kindergarten even possibly through first grade. In my opinion, you'll get a whole lot more use out of the games if you opt to mix things up from the general playing rules.

I am focusing on sounds and sight words to get my son started reading. I am always looking for resources to help me teach him and I always find it from Learning Resources. My son is loving learning his sight words with the Pop for Sights Words Games Bundle. These cards provide sight word practice students will love! My son loves that these games look like popcorn containers and popcorn kernels since he LOVES popcorn! He loves to either play the game or use the cards as flash cards. If your child needs a little practice with sight words or you are just looking for a fun educational game for Family Game Night, I recommend Pop for Sight Words Game Bundle!

My 6 year-old has struggled with his sight words at school and has had trouble learning them. He absolutely loves this game and asks to play almost every single day. I have noticed such a change in his ability to sound out words and letters. Not only is it fun for him, but very educational. Since this is a bundle, I will be able to use this with him all year and he will continue to add on new words to his vocabulary. I'm very pleased with this game!

Pop for Sight Words Games Bundle includes 2 games for learning early sight words. Each game includes 100 cards with 92 different sight words and 8 POP cards. That is a total of almost 200 words. The instructions for the game are printed on the cute pop corn style box that holds the pieces. This makes it easier so they don't get lost. The instructions are simple. Each player takes a piece of pop corn. If the player can read the word they get to keep the card and if not then it gets placed in the un-popped pile. If a player chooses the "POP" card then they have to put all their saved pieces back in the box. The game continues until all the pop corn pieces are gone. I really like these two games. I feel like My son is starting to know some sight words and his Kindergarten teacher will be happy that he is already starting to recognize some. The game is simple and easily adjusted to fit the needs of your child or children. Read more at http://www.arizonamamablog.com/2013/07/learing-resources-pop-for-sight-words.html#PuAqI1ZfxtjMlkuL.99

Each game includes 100 different words to learn along with 8 special popcorn cards. The die cut cards make it look like a yummy box of popcorn ready to delve into! This game makes it easy to include several in the game. It also is super portable for those long drives in the car. They make learning those pesky words that we simply have to memorize, much more interesting!
