This is a fun way of teaching colours & words to my 2y/o. He loves it & it's really well made. Have bought another one to gift.
(Minor negative: the brown shade is more like khaki green.)
I would buy this again and again

This is such a fun way to help develop my little ones brain! It's still a little overwhelming for him right now, but I have only brought out one or two paint cooors at a time so I don't overload him. He loses interest fast, so it seems to be helpful if there's less colors.
Love this!

These are bigger than I expected, but it is really a nice toy to help my children learn their colors. I also really love that it has most of the colors. I don't have anything bad to say about this!

I am always looking for more activities to use on vertical surfaces. This is perfect for lower level students and an easy way to embed language development with the different objects.
I recommend this product. My son love it

I bought this product for my in home childcare. My kiddos absolutely love it! The large pieces help with smaller hands and is a fun way for them to learn colors and matching. I used a large oil drip pan for the magnets to fit on and it looks great! Overall terrific product.
Great!

My daughter has been struggling with her colors. This is so fun for her to use and she really enjoys playing with the magnets. She doesn't even realize she is practicing her colors. Now she is so excited to work with them and do color sorting time. I would totally buy this again.
Love it

Great for a mix of activities such as sorting and counting. Good size - larger paintpots than I was expecting. Sticks to my magnetic wall well. Worried they may not last long as easy to mark with teeth bites or bend and crease.
Wonderful Preschool Learning Toy!

Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set includes 8 magnetic color paint can frames and 40 magnets. It is perfect for whiteboards in a home school environment or simply on the refrigerator, as it works on any magnetic surface. The learning possibilities are endless with this set. Children can sort the objects by color but the set also includes an activity guide with ideas for vocabulary and early math skills.
We put our set on the refrigerator and let our daughter decide how to use it. I didn't tell her any "rules" but just handed her each object one by one. She immediately sorted all the objects in the corresponding colored can. I decided to pull out the guide and try some other play ideas, as well as creating some of our own.
Since she had no problems matching the colors, we moved on to sounds. We started asking her to name objects that began with certain sounds. I would put two or three objects on the board, such as the carrot, cat and banana and ask her to find the one that started with "buh" sound. The sorting set complements her alphabet letters well when using this technique. It really helped her to visualize the sound of a letter with one of the magnetic objects.
We also played guessing games to help her sort, like "what do you like to eat on hot days?" (ice cream). She also likes to count how many objects are in a can. There really are so many ways to use the Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set and it's a great tool to aid in learning. With it on the refrigerator, I can easily teach while cooking dinner, too!
Fun & Educational!

I am always looking for fun ways to help my son learn. He is 2 years old and is so interested in the world around him. He is always asking 'What's that Mom?'. I love that he is so curious (even though his questions are non-stop) and I want to give him all the knowledge that he will take in!!
We received the Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set from Learning Resources a while ago and it has been a great way to help my little guy learn his learningcolors.
He has so much fun sticking these magnets to the fridge and grouping them into colors. It keeps his little hands busy while I am in the kitchen trying to make dinner and I love that he is learning through creative play.
This set comes in all your basic colors like RED, GREEN, YELLOW, ORANGE, PURPLE, BLUE, BLACK & BROWN. There are also several ways you can play with this magnetic set. My son especially loves naming off each 'item' before he puts them into their matching paint can. We also had fun using it as a 'puzzle' by putting each shape into it's correct space in the paint can. The Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set is great for teaching your child colors and a lot more!!
Love this game!

My kiddos love the cute game pieces and it's been pulled out several times since it's arrival. The pieces are large enough for little fingers to handle easily and they're very durable. I also like that it's so versatile. There are several ways you can use these here are a few ideas:
-Sort pieces by color
-Say the names of each item, have students say what letter or sound they hear at the beginning of the word.
-Using one color bucket and it's matching pieces, let your student look at the pieces quickly, then have them close their eyes. Remove one of the pieces and have them open their eyes and tell you which one is missing.
-Close your eyes and let your student pick one piece. Have them describe it to you, and you guess what it is. Repeat with you describing the piece and the student guessing.
-Pick 4-5 same colored pieces and one different colored piece. Put a group of objects on the board and let your student tell which one is different. Have them explain why it is different.
-Sort objects by type such as food, toys, animals, etc.

When I started teaching my son his numbers, letters and colors, for some reason, colors seemed to be the hardest for him! He would mix up his colors a lot and not be able to identify them!
He is a lot better at them now but I still continue to have him practice them to make sure he has them learned for sure!
One of our favorite ways he practices his colors is by the Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set from Learning Resources!
This color sorting set makes a color splash on any whiteboard, refrigerator or magnetic surface! It is specifically made for ages 3-5, but my son is two and loves to use and play with this!
Any child can learn their colors and practice their sorting skills by sorting these magnetic objects into their color cans. It builds color recognition, vocabulary and early math skills!
I love this sorting set a little more than our other favorite color sorting set, the Farmer's Market Color Sorting Set, another great product from Learning Resources, because it is easy to set up, easy to put away and doesn't leave fruits and veggies all over my house! :) I love that this set is magnetic so my son can play with it on any magnetic surface and keep the mess off the floor!
Plus, this set has a lot more colors for him to learn - including brown, blue and black, which the Farmer's Market does not include!
If you are looking for an easy to set up, easy to sort, and fun color learning activity, then make sure to try the Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set today!
This product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.
A splash in our home!

My 2 year old and 4 year old had a ball with this, I placed all the paint cans on our refrigerator, took out all the magnet pieces inside the paint can and placed them in the box on the floor and had my 2 year old not only match the color pieces inside the corresponding paint can, as she did that she named the colors but she also was able to place them in the correct shape opening. This was good for thinking skills because the openings only had 1 piece per opening that the magnetic piece would fit into! What a great way for children to learn their colors, great for dexterity and thinking skills![@]
An Excellent Counting and Sorting Toy

Learning Resources has hit the mark again! Their development team has created another awesome educational toy called the Splash of Color Magnetic Sorting Set. This is the type of toy I love to have in my early childhood classroom because it can be used in so many different ways.
It's a huge 48 piece set including eight paint can magnets, and five matching color magnets for each paint can. The quality is unmistakably Learning Resources and I know these will last in my classroom for years. The colors are bright and the pieces are thick enough for little fingers to pull off a magnetic surface. We first did a teacher-directed activity where we started with all eight paint cans empty. I held up each item and asked in which color paint can it should go and the children called out the color. This is a very versatile toy! My two year olds will be using it for item recognition and color recognition, my threes for counting and sorting, and my fours will be using it for early math like adding and subtracting. I even provided a cup of dry paintbrushes so they can pretend to paint each item with paint from the paint cans.
Disclosure: I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
