Description
Sorting fun for the whole family! Kids learn color, matching, and sorting skills as they talk about themselves and their families with the All About Me Sorting Neighborhood from Learning Resources. Inspired by our popular All About Me Family Counters, this set of 36 plastic counters and 6 two-piece houses helps kids strengthen their early math and imaginative skills every time they play. Shaped like toy people, counters come in six different colors and shapes (man, woman, boy, girl, baby, and family dog) and are ready for work as sorting manipulatives. Sort people figures by shape, count them up, or match them by color with the corresponding house—there are multiple ways to learn and play! The All About Me Sorting Neighborhood also works as a family toy for kids, helping them build social-emotional skills as they sort and talk about their own families and homes using the included play figures. Best of all—people figures store inside the houses for easy cleanup!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 4 year old. She has basic onowldege4of her colors and shapes. She enjoyed playing with her "colorful families" as she called them. She labeled each character according to what she identified them to such as mom, dad, sister, brother and baby. She also enjoyed coordinating them by color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cute neighborhood site that allows kids to use their imagination and learn colors. The quality of the tiny people leads me to believe it's only a matter of days before I start seeing teeth marks on them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this for free to try as a buzz agent. My 5 yo daughter and I have used it a few times. The way we play is mixing all of the people together and then separating them into their color groups. Then we count each character color coordinated. She likes to put each household into groups either going from dad, mom, brother, sister, dog. Or changing it up to mom and daughter, dad and son etc... it's entertaining for about 10 minutes then she becomes bored.
My son loves it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves the neighborhood counting set. He is 2 1/2 and we are working on numbers and colors. He would sort them by size/type (his favorite is the dogs) and by color. This keeps him entertained for 20+ minutes and encourages him to use his imagination. It is great for self play and guided play with an adult. The only downfall from a parent's perspective is all the pieces; putting it away organized takes a couple minutes. I did receive this free of charge in exchange for a honest review; this did not influence my opinions on this set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great learning toy. The toy allows children to learn their colors and sorting. My 3 year old loved it, she loved to play pretend with the little people and animals and loved putting them in their correct house based on their color. The only downside was she got bored with it pretty quickly since there was only so much she could do with it.
So many ways to sort!

There are so many ways to play... sorting either by type (mommy, baby, dog, etc) or color and more! The houses are able to be stacked, and there are plenty of sets and pieces for multiple children to play at once!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My toddler son has really enjoyed this set. The colors of all the houses and pieces are very vibrant and everything seems well made and sturdy. I can see this toy being used for at least a couple of years. Right now, the figurines are just something fun to play with and put in and take out of the houses. As he gets older, we can practice sorting by colors and counting with them as well. He can already recognize the "mama" and "papa" pieces and as he learns more vocabulary, I'm sure he'll have names for the rest. The little pieces could easily get lost but keeping everything stored in a bin is probably the best bet. I was pleasantly surprised by the set and think it's a great addition to foster imaginative play now and as he gets older.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All About Me Neighborhood Learning Set is better for smaller children learning colors. The sorting aspect is good; however, pre k aged kids could get bored easily. Would be good to use in a daycare setting for teaching colors and sorting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a pediatric nurse and mother so I get to enjoy multiple perspectives of child development. While I'm purely observational at work, watching a variety of developmental stages at play, with my own son I get the opportunity to not only pour into his education but personal/ethical development too. When we first received the colorful houses with colorful people, I didn't know how my son would react to this different toy. I thought he might grow bored of it quickly. However, I discovered a really neat learning opportunity wrapped up in a simple toy- after he initially set up "our family", I showed him how many other families look. Some families were made of different colored members, some had a solo mother or father, some had two mothers or fathers, some had animals and no children, some were grandparents caring for kids, and so on. Overall I'm grateful for this cool opportunity to teach him about differences in families and how they're all valid and lovable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The whole family is having fun with this one! There are so many things that can be learned from this set. We have used it to learn addition, subtraction, and some lower level multiplication. With it being so visual, my daughter is really catching on quite nicely. It is also thought provoking as far as her asking questions or noticing that not all couples have children, or like her, some just have one, some have no pets, and some have multiple, etc. Mom, dad, and daughter have all enjoyed this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great set. My 3 year old loved that it had each member of the family including pets! He would separate each color at first and then each pet and count and put them back into their color home. He begged to bring them into the bath and that's where the fun continued.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set was perfect for my four year old! I love that there is multiple ways to use this set that while she plays she can learn. The houses can stack on top of each other. You can store the figures in the houses which is perfect during clean up. I like that while my daughter is playing with them she can learn to sort out her colors. She can match them to the houses and also can match the figures together by man, woman etc. it also comes with a bunch of figures which is perfect with helping her learn to count. I really like that fact that you can tell that the figures are men, women and children but that they are a solid color which makes it fun for her because she can still play with them and can tell what they are but that she can learn her colors and matching them together compared to just traditional figures. There is many ways to play and learn which makes this set so great I would definitely recommend to any parent looking for something their children can play with but can also learn from it.
