Bought this set for my wife and I. Ironically, I had never seen the movies. We found the build to be quite enjoyable and fun. As I watched the 1st movie for the 1st time I noticed how many details were easily recognizable in the finished set. I can see what some have said about tight spaces inside that restrict playability to some extent but my wife and I build sets more as display pieces so that doesn't affect us. We did have one missing piece, a 1x2 brown brick but I had one in my random Lego boxes. Overall a really good set and great representation of the movie.

The strange roof construction doesn't allow access to the interior and the only one side opens up - so you can't position the mini figures or really see into the interior at all. Even with small hands, if you reach inside, you will instantly dislodge many of the decorative elements, requiring you to try to do ship-in-bottle reconstruction. The water wheel came loose on ours, and it was a major effort to reattach it.

I'm a review reader, so I've read most of the reviews available. I'm going to agree with most of them (but I think rating this a 1 or 2 is not fair). Yes, this build is a ton of fun, and I love the movie, so I loved the build. Is it to play with? Absolutely not. It is very flimsy - trying to build inside the home and deal with the water wheel was a giant pain. I had to rebuild this part of the design about 4 times. Our Lego sets are to look at, so once it was done, it was a nice display. Would I rate it a 5? No, it needs some work. But it was a fun idea and I would like to see more of these.

The wife and I built this over the course of 3 days. It was hard spreading it out because each step left you wanting to do a little more. My wife is a huge Hocus Pocus fan and it was such a joy listening to her quote lines from the movie and smile while building. Overall, a very fun build experience!

This was my biggest build so far and my first module build too. It was so fun to make and the instructions were easy to follow. It’s such a charming little house with so much detail and moving parts. When looking for my first module build I really wanted something interactive that would open up for display purposes and this really delivered! There are lots of ways to display it, it opens up at the back and the roof lifts up so you can see inside. My 8 year old has also loved playing with it.

I absolutely love this house. The movie itself has a place in my heart. Having the house is the icing on the cake. This build proved more difficult than first anticipated. Some of the pieces fit so delicately in place I was rescuing them multiple times. Often the pieces that went inside the house would come loose and I’d need to get in there with my chunky fingers and try to fix them. When all was said and done I was very happy. It sits proudly in my office for me to enjoy through my workday. I do not recommend this be played with. As stated some pieces fit delicately on. My nephew talked me into letting him use it as a spooky train station (he’s 4) and I guess the temptation not to touch was too great. Little parts were removed and internal pieces were jostled loose. It took me 2 hours but I was able to get it back together. Just a cautionary tale this is not little kid friendly. But we love it and it’ll always have a place in my office.

I have only ever used Lego once before for a table plan for my wedding so this was the first Lego set I have ever put together. I really enjoyed the experience and the set looks amazing on display. I received this set as a gift as I am a fan of the Hocus Pocus movie. I would recommend this set to others it's fabulous.

Great concept. Love the cottage. But…. Way too much is happening inside. The roof design makes it incredibly difficult to access the inside. I’ve never been a fan of the Lego roof designs. They are not very sturdy. The waterwheel design is terrible. I was close to completing the cottage and the waterwheel came apart. I am now in the process of disassembling the cottage in order to fix it.

This was great, all the Easter eggs, rat tail etc. flimsy build, the pieces did not stay well. The wheel that turns the purple flames up and down kept breaking, and then you can’t get at it to fix it. Very compact. Not for play. Can’t really see in the house. Needed hinges to open up more. Too stuffy. Favorite movie and accurate build. Wish it came with a Billy! And the two bullies.

One of the flimsiest Lego sets I have recently put together and no access to any of the interior "areas of play". When putting this up on my shelf I barely grazed a candelabra, which fell behind the fireplace mech. No amount of shaking or turning the whole set upside would remove this fallen piece from it's stuck location. I had to completely disassemble the set to remove the piece. Then putting it back together a bottle piece fell of the book shelf in the corner. Once again full disassemble just to gain access to the bookshelf in question. Lastly the fireplace effect doesn't work at all. Spent a good hour checking the piece placement and build and it still does not work. Wheel gets caught and the shaft for the flames becomes disconnected.
