The Red Dragon’s Tale hits the spot

I bought myself the Red Dragon’s Tale as a treat and I wasn’t disappointed! The various stages of the build allowed for a variety of different styles of area, from tavern to meadow to wizards tower, there were some lovely bits of engineering and I love the various D&D classic creatures that have been represented in the set. Then to really finish it all off, there is an adventure that goes alongside the set using everything in it! I’m really impressed and found it really well thought out. It even had suggestions for how to play without rules for those that aren’t D&D players, which was a nice touch. It’s just a shame that the set of minifigures that came out in 2024 aren’t still available as they add a host of new characters that give the adventure more options! I really hope that there are more releases I connected to D&D, some sets connected to Honour Among Thieves would be especially appreciated, but any sets to make up a dungeon or other adventure would be very cool!

Just finish building this wonderful d&d set. From the moment I opened the set it was a great building experience. The set comes together really well and when complete looks great. There so much pleasure in playing with this set and I would recommend getting the d&d guide and some extra figures to enjoy it even more. My favorite lego set so far for play ability.

I've built quite a few Lego sets in the recent months and this set is, by far, my favorite. It was a blast to build and fun to show off. I was never bored while building and highly recommend this set to everyone.

A very cool set that has a long of unique builds. I really love the variety of minifigures and monsters. There are also alot of neat easter eggs hidden throughout the set that are definitely in the spirit of DnD. Plenty of hidden treasures, secret doors, and deadly traps in this set.

I am a father of four teenage kids and run a monthly RPG game with my kids and their friends. This set, along with the blind pack D&D figures have added so much fun to the campaign. Please keep them coming! The build was a joy for the group to complete. Their are four books included and each kid got to build their own part and then combine it all. It only took about 4 hours to complete, but that was with lunch break and chatter. Was a pleasure to get them off their phone for awhile and reconnect. This was my first lego purchase as an adult for myself and I am very much looking forward to more sets of this caliber.

I spent my OWN money on this AND THAT STUPID MOUTH OF THE DRAGON WONT HOLD. When I finally did the mouth shut I tried to put it in a nice pose and the dragon JUST broke I had all of my nerves up because I spent so much time, effort and how I told NERVES ON THAT THING for it just to break I spent most of my life on Legos. And this is the first time happening I'm super annoyed
Very happy with the service and product

Excellent set with a tons of secrets for dungeons and dragons fans! It is a fantastic set and was an absolute joy to build imo. Just keep in mind that the dragon isn't held in place to the set via studs or anything so you'll need to carefully pose it yourself (which is feasible). And that the set is gigantic but doesn't have excess room in the interiors so do with that what you will. But if you are fine with that than I 100% recommend especially for fans of dungeons and dragons or the forgotten realms.

Very fun build, if you know D&D items and creatures well you will find a lot to enjoy with this set, it is pretty pricey but very big.
Almost Great, But Missing Pieces

First off, the design is fantastic and I loved all the little touches, which made for a richly detailed finished set. The build wasn’t difficult, but it was challenging enough to keep me engaged and entertained throughout. Overall, this would have been a great set, however… there were about half a dozen pieces missing (mostly from the tavern). Through creativity (and raiding my childhood stash of bricks) I was able to complete the build, but it was really disappointing. I just wish the quality control had been better, especially considering the price point on this set.

My largest build yet. Lots of fun! Two pieces (out of 3000+ pieces) were missing but fortunately they weren't integral to the structure. I really enjoyed this.

I haven't finished building yet, more than halfway there. I've been playing an irl campaign with friends over the last few months and used basic lego and DnD Minis for many of the encounters. Decided to gift myself this for Xmas. I highly recommend the set if you plan to use it to leap-frog other stories and campaigns. The one-shot provided is decent, a bit simple and a small bit childish despite the set being rated 18+. It's great if you wanted some monsters and characters to bank away for your players to face further down the line, and some cool environments and dungeons.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm halfway through the build: I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that there is a campaign from Wizards of the Coast available to download.
