This is my favorite build. Period. Sure, it’s of my favorite game, but the engineering of it is amazing. I love the little secrets and nods. And my daughter plays with it (delicately) every chance she gets. Please do the red, green, and blue !-blocks from Mario 64!

    Ultimate Fan Experience

I purchased this set a while ago but am only writing this review now as I had a chance to rebuild it with my middle school classroom and really saw the value of this set. First, as a fan of the game, this set manages to capture the joy of the game with typical Lego flair. The attention to detail on each of the four settings brought pure joy each step of the way - especially loved the inside portion of Peach’s castle! Second, as a classroom tool, it served as a phenomenal STEAM activity. I try to bring Lego in with my students beyond just the straight coding sets (love SPIKE Prime, too!) to help with literacy, specifically instructional texts, as it turns out, following instructions isn’t for everyone haha. Anyways, now it’s back home on my book shelf, where it belongs. Teaching tool aside, if you’re ever wondering what’s missing from your decor or need a little joy in your life, don’t hesitate to pick this up:)

I've purchased and built hundreds of lego sets, and this is one of the ones that sticks out the most in my mind as a unique and interesting build combined with a unique and interesting play experience. Folks who chase minifigures will not be impressed by the 3-to-5 brick portrayal of the video game icons, but the unique design and the feel of the mechanisms in your hands are incredibly impressive.

This tested all the members of my family. I felt like I was playing monopoly but with Legos. From the first 2 question marking borders falling off the question mark. The rubber band door opening up to swing the world’s inside the cube, not completely closing. Why would it matter anyway? Not like it doesn’t cause it to not sit inside the cube correctly and having you to glue it down (Says sarcastically). Well in the end when the game is done it will be a awhile before you talk to your family again so remember to love thy family

That's not the type of building experience we'd want you to have! If your set hasn't come together all the way, please get in touch at LEGO.build/Service-BV and our team of experts will be happy to help.

I remember playing Super Mario 64 with my dad and two brothers when I was about 10 years old. Building this LEGO set constantly brought me back to those days. Several times during the 8-10 hr build, I found myself think "I don't know what's up with this piece but I'll put it in anyway" only to go "oh! It's the rolling log in Lava Lava Lakes!" 5 minutes later. Constantly full of surprises while building and while playing. Each level is also surprisingly accurate given it's miniature scale. Looks great from any angle and in any mode. 10/10.

I had a blast building this Mario 64 set with my wife over the weekend! The nostalgia of playing Mario 64 over the many years. I found myself playing the songs in my head while building this set. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to re-live their childhood of playing Lego’s and Mario 64!

My wife usually chooses smaller, easier builds but she gravitated toward this one. It really says something that at her skill level she had a good time and was so proud of herself for nailing it on the first try! The play value of this set is better than most - it’s really fun to swivel the dioramas in and out of the block!

Loved it. It has a few different movable mechanisms, edits that make it super cool. Even has hidden surprises and hat can be activated with the Mario or Luigi.

Overall a great build. loved Super Mario 64 when I was younger (played it on the DS, don't hate me). Really liked building the top half of the set, the middle technical section was a bit of a bore but still great to see how it works in the final build. Loved building the small characters from all the levels, probably my favorite part. Only had one sort of big problem... One of the small rubber bands in my set had a tiny slit in it and snapped after a few uses (still giving 5 stars anyway since I only got the set for display) haven't heard anyone else with this issue so it may have just been a one off. Great build, would recommend to anyone who likes SM64 or just Mario in general.

The versatility of making a question mark block with multiple mini diroamas inside to pay a fitting tribute to Super Mario 64. Unless you have the Lego Mario figure, don't expect any playability save for the mini Bowser stage.

This is a neat set. You don't need me to tell you that the flip-out/flip-back centerpiece is a brilliant piece of both display fun and Lego engineering bravado. The little hidden elements are nifty and the finished block looks terrific. My only real problem with it is that it's surprisingly fragile. I've had several elements almost fall off while engaging the play features, which is not something I've had happen with other sets. Doesn't mean I can't or won't recommend it, but it does mean you should be a little cautious with the thing once it's finished.

A genuinely joyous experience. The attention to detail, Easter eggs and subtle nods to the game showcase the real care and consideration that went into the design. I was grinning throughout. Plus it looks incredible.
