Q: Is this frame compatible with and adjustable base?

A: Hello Melissa - We appreciate your interest in this item. Yes, this bed can be used with an adjustable frame if that adjustable frame can fit inside of ours. Our metal frame has metal corners that are necessary to the instruction. They cut into the foot print at 6" from the floor. For a king, the legs of the adjustable must fit within 68.25 and 72.25.
