[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit in August of 2016. I live in a 900 sq. ft. house and my central AC unit quit. No AC in August in Texas is not good. The AC guy couldn't get here for 5 days and no idea how long to get parts. I cranked the thermostat all the way down. It made the house tolerable until my central unit was fixed. This little unit has energy saver, remote control, digital readout, easy clean filter and did better than expected.
so far so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome solution for an area like a medium living room on low. Turned on high, it will push up to 700 sq. ft. if the area is open.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am still in love with this a/c unit though I do wish I could get rid of the rattle that has developed. I have stuffed paper around the filter panel to try to keep it to a minimum because the unit is actually a lot quieter than the unit this one replaced. After almost a year it is still keeping my bedroom very cold which helps me sleep at night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't like the fact that the air flow can't be adjusted to a different direction enough to make a difference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this before it got really hot and I should have bought a more powerful air conditioner even though my bedroom is small. It doesn't do the trick.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yesssss! This little beauty made it possible for me to cook in my kitchen again during summer months. Especially love the timer - set it before leaving for work in the morning and arrive home in the evening to a cool room! Great force fan, temp stays even, no bugs found so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very satisfied with the performance of this air conditioner. It cools a 25' x 15' living room and the 10' x 18' kitchen that is open to the living room. There have been days with temps in the 90's when we have left the house for a couple of hours with the ac on and returned to a very cool house, almost too cool! We haven't noticed much of an increase in electric bills which is nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this in July 2013. Hasn't missed a beat. I bought the largest one made at the time and haven't had one regret. I would advise you to measure your area especially in an older home that didn't plan for this size. Mine sticks out a little further than the counter and not much space between the fridge and the cabinets above. Still I would buy it again. The temp stays true to the thermometer. I was nervous about the freezer on the bottom after having had a side by side. I love it. I can easily see what I have and the 2 pull out shelves make organizing very easy. The ice maker does require watching. I'm the only ice user I must stir the ice often to unlock some frozen together cubes blocking the dispenser. Not a deal breaker. The exterior is easy to keep using a stainless cleaner. I would buy it again today if it were to stop working. Fortunate for me if that happened I do have a year left on my extended coverage.

Disappointing Compressor Noise Level

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In August 2016, I bought the LW6016R 6K BTU AC - "Recommended" based on it being in the top recommended window unit reviews of Consumer Reports. Although the unit cools well and the price was reasonable, the LG's compressor is much louder than the new Fridgidaire 6K BTU window unit I bought for another bedroom this summer (2017). The LG disturbs my sleep at times and is too noisy for watching television without having to turn up the TV's volume. I am disappointed that Consumer Reports did not note this problem of the compressor noise in their review. I had an AC repairman come to my apartment to check out the units - he told me that LG's compressors are just louder than Fridgidaire’s and that there is absolutely nothing I can do to lessen that noise - it is normal for the LG AC units. Too bad I cannot return the air conditioner at this point.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this unit for a few months prior to installing it. It hasn't been used much because it's being used in a second home. It seems to be cooling okay. I'm going to take a wait and see attitude do to my availability to frequent my vacation home. At the present it's cooling fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Put this in my Master bedroom window May 6th. This replaced a Frigidaire 5000 BTU unit I gave away. The first thing I noticed was the air output had no up and down adjustment; only side to side. I turned it on, and was surprised at how noisy it was. Especially when the compressor turned on. My last unit, you couldn't even tell when the compressor kicked in, it was so quiet. When it got the room to the preset temperature, I discovered that the compressor kicks on every 4 minutes and runs for 30 seconds or so, then turns off. Waits 4 minutes then kicks in again. Wondered why it has to turn on so often all night, which is the only time it runs. The room is only about 200 sq. ft. and the outside temperatures have not even hit the mid summer highs yet. Also, when I turn it on using the remote, it always goes into energy saver mode, which is not where I use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just installed and it was easy to do. About 50 pounds so you might need a helper. Although only 6,000BTUs, it does a good job in a 300 sq. ft. area. Pretty quiet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a window unit that lasted 8 years. This one sounds like a lawnmower. When the compressor kick on I can hear it three rooms away. It is louder than my whole house window unit.
