Q: I know the description says the glass dome is 8.25" tall, but this probably includes the glass ball handle at the top. What is the height of the dome in terms of what it can hold inside?

The height is perfect. However, the glass lid is very thin and feels very fragile. The color of the pedestal base is so light in comparison to the rest of the piece and makes it not as attractive. It was not damaged so I didn’t feel like I needed to return it. However, I really wish I would have exchanged it.

This is a beautiful stand; however, my wooden base was visibly warped, so the lid did not fit properly and did not create a seal. Will have to return.

I love this cake dish. I can use as decoration and storing sweets. Just know when cleaning it wipe with a soapy towel or Clorox wipe so the wood won’t split

I have been looking for a cake stand with a dome tall enough to hold a tall layer cake. This fits that bill beautifully. The glass dome is heavy enough to be sturdy, yet light enough to be easy to carry. The wood base is - in a word - gorgeous!
