Q: can the rope be shortened?
submitted by Chris - 5 years ago
A: I am just now purchasing the jump rope, but the description says "two sliding rope adjustors make any rope length adjustment quick and easy." The small black piece in the picture of the rope should slide up to catch in the handle and shorten the rope. Hope this helps.
submitted byPDay - 5 years agoA: Hi Chris - Thanks for your question! The Lifeline .75lbs Weighted Speed Rope can be shortened by the easy-to-use sliding length adjusters at the end of the rope. I hope this helps!

The rope portion is a stiff plastic tube with very little flexibility, even after allowing it to hang straight and lay flat from being wound up in the box. The handles move smoothly, but the curves and twists that I can't get out of the "rope" make it nearly impossible to use. I will be returning it.
Inflexible and wont uncoil

Inflexible- we can’t get it to uncoil even after putting it stretched out under furniture etc. It also doesn’t seem any more “weighted” than your standard rope jump rope, which may be why the uncoiling is so tough. Will update if we figure out a trick. I would return but the kids already used it outside in attempt to get it to uncoil.
I miss the gym!

I used to run a lot when I was younger just getting out of college, but then I stopped a little because my legs would get sore easy. I started reading up on jumping rope as a comparative exercise that has the same, if not better, benefits as running in less time. I saw a some other jump ropes that were somewhat bland and cheap looking, and then came across the weighted rope. It's been working like a charm. It is a little tangly/tight initially because of the material, but after a couple uses, it's fine. I sweat a lot when I workout, so my hands sometimes get slick and the handles could use a little more grip. Hopefully once my body gets more acclimated, it won't be an issue.
Like the weight

I lost the weight in the handle of a different weighted rope I was given as a gift awhile ago and needed a new rope. I chose the Lifeline rope because the weight isn't in the handles, its in the rope, which I wanted to compare to the weighted handle style. Its a different weorkout and a better one in my opinion. This rope has better rotation and I like the large handles. The rope was curly in the beginning but it straightened out the first time I used it.

I like the weight in the rope rather than the handles. It rotates easily when jumping. The handle were a little slippery when I got into my workouts and the rope was a little curly at first but eventually straightened out.
