Q: I would appreciate suggestions of shade to go with this. Also would like to know height with shade included. Looks like from previous question, shade must include slip uno, whatever that is!

A: Hi Connie – This lamp base pairs well with a variety of shades. It requires a slip uno (metal ring attached to the shade), so it’ll rest under the light bulb with the bulb securing it. The height will depend on which shade you choose. Q: Potentially silly question but how does a lampshade securely attach? I'm used to seeing an exterior thread, add the shade then another threaded part to secure or clips for a harp. What sort of shade would work? Thank you.

I’ve been looking for a reading lamp for several months that was something other than metal or wood. I love colors and have bright colors all around my home, but I just couldn’t find anything. This past week, I found this blue lamp base and thought it would work in my space! However, all the lamp shades were ugly or boring. So I put the lamp back and filed it away as “as possibility”. That same week, I had to go to Lowe’s for more tile (for a different project) and I browsed the lamp section to see whether there were my table lamps that would suit my needs. I found the perfect lamp shade to match the navy blue lamp base from target!!! I snatched it up! It took a few days, but I finally have it all together! I used an LED light bulb (that I had separately at home) to light the lamp. I placed the dial on/off switch towards my reading space for easy on/off access, and I am in love. I do recommend this lamp base, and it fits with the Allen and Roth brand small lamp shades from Lowe’s.

This lamp is beautiful, but my lamp has a chip On the bottom rim. This was a store pickup order, and the team member pulling the item should’ve noticed. Nonetheless, I needed it ASAP. So, I kept the chipped lamp, and keep the chip turned towards the wall.
