Q: I watched my laundry cycle. My rinse cycle is only 13 minutes. So according to Lysol my clothes are not sanitized. If I pause the load the water will eventually start to drain. Any suggestions?
A: A gallon of water. How many capfuls do I need? It’s towels in a washing machine. More than a gallon of water. Apparently it requires the entire bottle of Lysol
submitted byAnonymous - 10 months agoA: Why not use peroxide instead it seems like such a hassle
submitted byGlass measuring cups - 5 months agoA: Thank you for reaching out! We suggest you to follow the Pre-Soak Disinfection Directions: Pour two capfuls each filled to line 1 into 1 gallon of cold water. Submerge completely and soak items for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water or machine wash as directed. We hope that this information helps! Sincerely, Your Lysol Team.

Q: How often should I use this? Every other week or once a month?
A: Thank you for reaching out. This product is safe to use in the rinse cycle every wash. We hope this helps!
submitted byLysol Team - 1 year agoBrand expertA: The instructions I read said to wash often based on how soiled items are or if in contact with ill person. Says once a week or so is good enough for daily items. Every wash is also ok.

Q: do you use this with your regular detergent or by itself
A: I add it in addition to the regular laundry soap.
submitted bylilagage - 5 years agoA: Lysol Laundry Sanitizer should be used in conjunction with laundry detergent. Wash cycle additives such as stain remover can also be used. Lysol Laundry Sanitizer is formulated to be used in the rinse cycle without additional additives, such as fabric softener. Lysol Laundry Sanitizer provides a limited softening effect.
submitted byLysol Team - 5 years agoBrand expertA: That is the wrong way, you are wasting money. It is only effective in the rinse cycle and must be in the rinse cycle for 16 minutes. Those are the detailed directions.

Q: Do I STOP the rinse cyle with clothes submerged in water, put it in and let clothes soak for 16 minutes and push start on the cycle once the 16 minutes is up? OR, just put it in and let it be?
A: Based on what I read (I haven't used this product yet) you can do the first option you mentioned or put it in the fabric softener compartment. You can also add it in to soak for 16 min before washing.
submitted byEB - 1 year agoA: Thank you for reaching out. This product is formulated to be add to rinse cycle and leave product in rinse cycle for 16 minutes.

Q: Would this product be effective if I added it to the drum of the washer by itself, agitated, then stopped and let it soak, then let it rinse. Then did a SECOND wash with detergent alone?
A: It is best to follow the usage instructions for the best results. Allow for clothes to be washed by your detergent first, then add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer directly to the rinse cycle. You can let it soak for 15 minutes.
submitted byLysol Team - 3 years agoBrand expertA: Please someone explain why it must be in the rinse cycle? What is the science behind this? Same could be accomplished by method described above--just soak over 16 minutes alone before or after rinse
