Maisto Volvo My First Dump Truck R/C

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sweet little dump truck is perfect for the little one in your life, my toddler loves his! The truck is the perfect size for him, he's actually able to pick it up and move it around on his own without my help. Most of the time he enjoys just manually moving his truck back and forth, but he also loves moving the truck with his directional wand . There are only two buttons on the wand which make it very simple for my little guy to figure out with a little help from me. Overall it's a great, well made toy that will certainly keep my little one happy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves this RC Dump Truck. He has had endless playtime with it and he tries to take it everywhere with him. I find it so fascinating that which ever way you move the wand, is the direction that the Dump Truck goes. I’ve never seen anything like it! That being said, my three year old son has had no problems navigating it around the house. It works on any floor surface, even carpeting. This is so unique and perfect for any child. There was absolutely no assembly required, which is always a plus when it comes to toys. Batteries last a long time, even with everyday use. Super durable as my three year old tend to send it toppling down the stairs and it’s survived.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am currently using this RC dump truck in my Infant/Toddler classroom Having the 18-30 month old toddlers play and investigate with their first experience seeing and a RC car. Everyone immediately wanted to touch, pick up and grab our dump truck. Once the initial excitement settled down and they watched how it worked and shared taking turns, the learning could begin. The fine motor skills, cause and effect, directions, sharing. Watching others succeed while you sit and watch. It was a wonderful experience for our kids and fun to teach the kids. We will use it often in class.

It is motion controlled by the wand and seems to work great. The durability is pretty nice as well seeing as I have seen my nephew throw it and it still works great. Defiantly recommend to anyone who has a child that loves cars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was blessed to receive this BB Jr. Volvo My First RC Dump Truck in exchange for my honest feedback and that is what I am providing. The suggested age for this RC Dump Truck is 24 mos +. My grandson is 2 1/2 and this truck is proportioned perfectly for his toddler sized hands. The Cab portion measures 5"L x 4"W x 3 1/2"T, the Dump portion measures 4"L x 4"W x 2"D. Measurements do not include the 2 1/2" Round and 1/2"Thick Wheels. The body of the truck is constructed out of sturdy plastic, the wheels are a softer, plastic that almost feels like rubber. My grandson loves the super cute eyes sticker on the windshield. In order for this RC Dump Truck to work, you will need to install 3 AA Batteries (Not Included). The battery compartment is located Underneath the Truck Bed and is easy to access. The Wand that comes with the truck is made to look like a Directional Flashlight. It operates on 2-AAA batteries which are already installed. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw that assures the battery compartment for both the truck & wand stay closed during play. What I like best about the Remote Control Wand is that although it makes both turning a key in the ignition / engine sound (Upper Triangular Button) and beeping noise (Lower Triangular Button), the sound itself, as well as the volume level is not very bothersome. I especially love that the sound stops as soon as the child takes his finger off the buttons. The Triangular Shaped Buttons are large enough that they are easy for toddler hands to push without assistance. The upper portion of the Controller Wand features a flashing light and makes a short beep noise. The front wheels of the Dump Truck swivel. When the child waves the Controller Wand to the left or right, the wheels respond by moving in the same direction as the Controller Wand is pointed. One thing that makes me feel good about the manufacturer, aside from the overall design of this dump truck, is that All of the packaging is recyclable. The only thing I would caution others about is that because the Dump portion of this RC truck is designed to be operated manually, when lowering the bed, it would be possible for a child to pinch their finger if placed between the bed bottom & truck frame. Other than that, this truck is designed with toddlers in mind and seems to be a very safe toy. I truly appreciate that in a time when so many toys offer instant gratification with little effort on the child's part, playing with this BB Jr. Volvo My First RC Dump Truck helps to build eye/hand coordination, improves manual dexterity skills and encourages children to use their imagination. A+ Recommendation!

He chased after it for the longest time. The truck was so easy for him to control. It was a bit smaller than I thought but the toy was loved nonetheless!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two year old is having so much fun controlling his Volvo My First RC Dump Truck by Maisto International. It’s a well designed, sturdy truck that is about 9” long and 4” wide. The bright yellow plastic body is designed with big eyes on the windshield, giving it a child friendly personality. The dump bed can be manually raised or lowered. The vehicle is operated with a traffic wand controller that has lights and sounds. Wave the traffic wand left or right, to steer the direction of the truck. It can move forward, backwards or in circles. This is an ideal remote controlled vehicle for toddlers as it’s very simple for them to operate and master. I think it’s great for enforcing hand-eye coordination and developing logical thinking. My only disappointment was that the 3 AA batteries needed for the truck body were not included, but the batteries for the traffic wand were pre-installed.

We especially like to rounded edges that make it an appropriate toy for a toddler. The remote control is an added bonus; the idea to control the movement with waving a wand is genius. He giggles when he makes the truck move around by waving the wand. The price point is definitely reasonable, and the quality of the material is very good. But don’t forget the batteries, as always they are not included.
