Description
The Hydro Pods Marvel Starter Pack is a collectible toy and a kids game all in one, complete with everything needed to launch into hydro-powered play. First, fill the pod with water, plug in the target, and watch as a mystery Marvel toy character is revealed. This kids toy set features Iron Man, Black Panther, Groot, Ultron, Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, or the special edition black and gold Iron Man -- which character will you unveil? Next, place the pod in the slot in the Tide Trapper water tray, load a disc into the included launcher, and aim at the target. Nice shot! As the target flies off, the water drains out of the bottom of the pod and the character sinks in defeat. Tide Trappers keep water contained, so kids can keep battling with this water toy without making a mess. Look for other Hydro Pods sets including battle-ready Aqua Armor and mystery starter packs with fun characters to trade with friends or give as gifts for kids ages 6 and up. (Sold separately. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is packaged to attract kids! My son was very excited to play with this but it didn’t last too long. You need to have water on hand to constantly fill it up. The toy does have small pieces which can’t be left alone with a small child. It’s good entertainment for few minutes!

But they still all have to be refilled with water once they are hit. It is a cute concept, and it’s fun when it’s hit.. but my daughter played with it for about 5 minutes before moving on. It’s basically like a dunk tank. Keep a bowl of water handy to refill quickly!

The toy itself seemed to hold up to repeated use, and it was packaged brightly so the kids enjoyed it. I wouldn’t give it to a small child as there are small pieces and they could choke. Overall, it was cute, but it wasn’t necessarily a long lasting loved toy.

It came in a small package which fit in my mailbox! I felt like with how rough my son is, it held up pretty well! Some of the smaller pieces, I definitely would keep an eye on any younger kids playing with this!

He had a lot of fun with it and was very excited to show other family members how he could hit the target without many attempts. We only had one, but it would definitely add lots of fun for him to have a second to compete with someone else. Playing on his own was also perfectly fine for him, but it probably won't occupy his attention as long as two would. I don't love that the capsule has to be held under water while sticking the target in to prevent leakage, but it's not a big deal either. After I did it a few times, my nephew was mostly able to do that own his own.
Fun, but you need more than one!

You fill the Hydro Pod with Water, put the Target/water stopper on top of it, and shoot it with disks until someone knocks the Target out of the Hydro Pod which causes the water to drain in the tray! This pack comes with only 1 Hydro Pod (the bean looking thing that holds water and a marvel characters head) a disk launcher with 3 disks, a water tray, and a Target/water stopper. My only issue with this pack is that it only comes with 1x Hydro pod, it should come with 2x! We had fun playing with this! But for sure you need atleast 2x Hydro Pods with Trays to really enjoy this with others. Playing alone gets boring pretty fast for kids, I recommended getting 2x of these if you wanted this as game time play for multiple kids. Having only 1x might be okay for some kids, your mileage may vary. I recommend this for those kids who like shooting games and like playing in water. Give it a try!

It does incorporate water, so keep that in mind when choosing where play will occur 😅 I think that despite the package’s recommended age of 6+, this toy would be best for ages 4-6. The packaging is easy to open, and the toy was easy to get started with quickly.

But for the time being, my kid was happy with using his imagination playing with it by himself. This is a good quality and seems like it will last a long time. A kid with a good imagination will get a lot of play out of this.
