Q: Are the Quick Clean bags free of BPA-alternative chemicals?

A: Medela prides itself on having safe reliable products, that’s why we only use the safest food grade plastics for all parts that touch breast milk. All parts that touch breast milk are made without BPA, BPS, DEHP, PVC, and Phthalates.

Q: Do I still need to was my pump parts before I use the bag?

A: The bags are good for sterilizing, so it gets it "clean" enough if you are pumping at work where you can't scrub down with soap and water and leave out on a drying rack for everyone to see. However, the milky residue will remain, but at least they are sterilized. So eventually you will need to wash with soap and water.

We can only recommend that they be used with Medela products since we don't know the results or effects that they may have on non-Medela brand accessories. I expected 20 uses out of each bag, as advertised in product description. After the first use, the plastic zip detached from one side of the bag, making it useless. I thought the bag was defective and tried another one from the same box. The exact same thing happened! I came to write a review and see that another recent review mentions the same issue. What is happening? I bought this item from Target rather than Amazon, after Amazon sent the item in unmarked packaging, because I am accustomed to better quality from Target. What a disappointment.

It was mentioned that single bag can be used multiple times(20) for microwave sterilization. However, after following instructions, the ziplock came off after 1st use only. Seems like ziplock was glued. No use.

I was hesitant to use these bags due to plastic exposure, however, after multiple days of boiling bottles and breast pump parts, I gave these a try. In three minutes I can have sanitized supplies, giving me time back in the day. Since you can reuse the bags up to 20 times, it is also easy to clean everything all at once, or as things are rotated throughout the day. The one con so far is the smell - when the bag is in the microwave it smells a bit like chemicals and the contents retain the smell of whatever dish soap you’ve used.

These bags are smaller than I expected. A typical pumping session will result in using this bag about three times. I would say this is practical if you’re only planning to be out of the house for a night. We used these for a two night trip and I was pumping more often than usual and it felt like it took forever to get everything sanitized. This is great for very short term but anything longer than a day just buy a normal sterilizer.

Love these so much! These are a super easy and convenient way to clean bottles and pump parts. I can see how a sterilizer appliance would be helpful if you're in the office/pumping full time, but for those of us who just pump a few times a week, these are perfect.

These bags are awful. I’ve brought them before and had no issues but this time, not one one of them would close shut! Maybe I got a bad batch, but they did were no good.

We put all our different brand (dr. Brown’s, spectra, Medela, MAM, etc.) bottles and breast pump parts in these bags and have had zero issues. Love that they are reusable for so many times. They can fit quite a lot if you position everything right. We also use a Papablic bottle sterilizer, but we love these bags for taking to the grandparents’ houses or when we’re in a pinch. All you need is a microwave and a little water!
