A: I find that the patch alleviates the itching. It also stops the cold sore from cracking and it keeps it dry. So the patch doesn’t “relive pain” but it does offer relief from the symptoms of cold sores.

I bought this for my fever blister. Usually I use camphor and abreva and ive never had a scar. This time I used the mederma fever blister patch and I am scarred from it. I am so upset, my beautiful smile is scarred. I am self conscious anyway and now I feel horrible about how my face looks. I wish I had of just used the methods I have for years. I figured a quick fix with the patch and now I have this ugly scar that won't go away. I would not recommend this product.

They do conceal the cold sore BUT they sometimes don’t stay all the way down. But it did help the healing and pain and embarrassment of having a cold sore

I've been getting cold sores since grade school and have tried absolutely everything to make the healing process more comfortable. I usually get multiple sores at once and sometimes will even get one after the other for multiple days. My record is 6 sores at one time! With the mederma patches, the scabbing stage is completely avoided and I can eat, talk, and live my life without bleeding, oozing, and cracking. I don't know that the healing time is really reduced, but it's 1000% more bearable. I wear these patches to work and while they are somewhat noticeable, I'd rather be seen with little stickers on my face than oozing and scabbing cold sores. My only request is that Mederma come out with a longer, oval shaped version for those pesky cluster sores that I get all the time so that I don't have to use two or three patches for one sore.

These are a must have for me! I don’t get cold sores super often, maybe once every few years, but when I do, I use these! They cover super well and definitely seem to speed up the healing process. And bonus, I don’t have to worry about contaminating everything (and everyone) in my household. The only issue I have is that, because of the location of my cold sores, I always have to have some of the patch over the “wet part” of the inside of my lip, so it comes unstuck fairly easily when I eat/drink/talk. I have to replace them more often than I’d like, but I’m not really sure how they could fix that issue. Overall, these are amazing and a must buy for anyone who gets cold sores!

Easy to apply (just read the instructions). No issues from me. Protected the sore to minimize transfer. Like anything it’s noticeable and similar to a pimple patch but effective.

I'm a 43 year old female who gets a cold sore almost monthly before my cycle. Sometimes they're on my lip, sometimes they're in my nostrils and sometimes they are on the skin between my lip and nose. I went into the store to get abreva and came across these and I'm telling you I have tried everything !!! These are extremely discreet (I'm a hairdresser in people's faces all day) and they are so comfortable compared to the festering blisters a cold sore can have. They seem to have subsided the pain and completely subsided the aggravation. Matter of fact the girl behind the counter was wearing one on her lip for a cold sore and showed me and I had to squint to see hers. I will always buy these from this point on they come out of the packages extremely easy and the container they come in is a wonderful little case.
Wil never be without again!

I 20/10 recommend this! I get cold sores about twice a year, however they appear on left cheek area every time. They get huge, swollen and disgusting. They last for two weeks and can't be covered with male up due to the swelling and oozing. So embarrassing. THIS PRODUCT I WILL NEVER BE WITHOUT! This is a day 3 and it is where the healing processes would be after a week. It never swelled and bulged and I was able to cover what was there with male up because the patch keeps it smooth. Instead of having a huge, embarrassing cold sore for 2+ weeks, it basically looked like a big pimple with a pimple patch on it! It also didn't peepl off. Only con was it did take a little of the softened skin from the sore but it did not impede the healing at all.
Does not work. Doesn’t stay attached.

I bought this cold sore healing patch this week and I am extremely dissatisfied. It doesn’t even stay on. I did everything that the instructions said and tried 4 times but it did not adhere. Not worth buying. Just frustration.

They work great but I wish they came in different shades of brown, like bandage brands. Various colors for different skin tones would be a game changer. And if they would make them stickier so they don't come off when you eat. Other than that I love them.

I have been plagued with cold sores my entire life. This product really is a game changer. I will be honest, I do not know if it really reduces the healing time for me, BUT it keeps my from messing with the cold sore, keeps it from spreading(which is the worst), keeps it protected, and one of my fav reasons I love the patch so much is it really hides the cold sore. I have more confidence leaving my house with a cold sore then I ever have. There was nothing before to help disguise or cover it up.

I periodically get stress sores aka cold sores often and let me tell you what. They are a pain to deal with. I seen these when I looked up a product that will work effectively and these popped up and I made up my mind on the spot. I used it for a day so far and it feels and looks better!!! I'll definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone.

I have suffered from cold sores for the past 45 years. When I saw these patches, I had to try them. I prepared the area with some rubbing alcohol to make sure my skin was clean then applied the patch. I gently smoothed the edges. They really do stay on. You guys with facial hair, duh, shave first. It worked wonders. I agree with some others, that different sizes should be available and the adhesive does wax my lip. I just bought two more packages.

I bought these about 2 months ago, I have a fever blister now and I thought these would be great. Well there not. They will not stay on I have tried 2 of them today and they peel off. They stay for on for maybe an hour but definitely not what they say. Very disappointed. Be nice if they actually stayed on. Good cover up

Please read the packaging, people who said it hurt ripping it off, well DUH the instructions CLEARLY say do NOT remove, let it lift up and then it should come off easier. Reading instructions is half the battle. These work great and it gets worse before it gets better! Day 2 is horrendous, day 3/4 it's reduced significantly. Love this product however some do stick to the green thing and why I gave it 4 stars. Needs better packaging
