Melissa & Doug Blues Clues & You! Time for Glasses Eye Doctor Play Set

One of our favorite Melissa and Doug sets we own! Perfect for our 3 year old but our 13 month old likes to jump in on the play too. It makes a great Christmas or birthday gift for a kid who “has it all”. Pretend play is so important for toddlers and I love that Melissa and Doug focuses on learning through play!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just like every other toy I've gotten from Melissa and Doug, the Blues Clues glasses play set is so well made and my kids love it! I have a 3yo and 7yo and they have so much fun giving each other eye exams and trying on glasses themselves and on Blue and Magenta too. I would recommend this as a toy for a child preparing to go to the eye doctor for the first time, a child that has glasses, or someone that just loves playing doctor and things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this for my toddler. He had a lot of fun pretending to be an optometrist! Everything in the kit is perfect for little hands and it's a fun way to get him engaged. He especially loved trying on all the glasses.

We are a glasses wearing family so this set fits right in. Fun that it comes with multiple glasses for interactive play with friends/siblings. I wish I could have had something like this as a child who wore glasses and felt ashamed. What a fun way to include everyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves playing with it especially with the colors and even the glasses. She is amazed that she can read numbers/letters with specific colors. It is also durable, not cheap plastic compared to other toys she has.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My toddler enjoyed wearing the glasses and placing them on all of her plush animals. The glasses are pretty sturdy. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the play duration. It's not the type of toy that you play with for a very long time, but I feel it would be great for kids to incorporate into pretend play.

They especially love the hidden message cards that you have to look through the goggles to decode. My only complaint would be that there isn't enough tools. My kids love to play doctor and I feel like this could've had more with it. Otherwise it kept them occupied for a while!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very cute and educational game! My 2 and 4 year old loved opening this! It was fun to show them uses for the different included items that are part of an eye exam. I love that the board slides over the top to store very nicely!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With so many toys out there, sometimes it feels like I see the same thing over and over. This is why I was so impressed with this set! It is so unique! This was my favorite part! The set comes with so many pieces (14) so your little one can truly feel like they are at the eye doctor (or like they are the eye doctor). It is so unique and interesting. This is my toddler's new favorite toy. It includes all of the pieces you need to be either doctor or patient. The most interesting part is the rotating color wheel. It is so cute because, depending on which color you look through, you can find hidden images (numbers, shapes, alphabet, etc.). You look into the double-sided eye charts in order to see these images and "check your vision." This set also includes a cleaning cloth, eye drops a patient chart and even a write-on appointment card. There is also an eye chart which includes shapes such as a paw print, circles, hearts, etc. The set also includes four different frames that your child can try on along with a play mirror to help them decice which frames they prefer. This is so well crafted. It is of such high quality. This one will last us quite a while! Everything fits nice and neatly in the wooden box. Super convenient! It also doubles as a display board where you can place the mirror/eye chart. I cannot say enough positive things about this toy. This is a fabulous set and I highly recommend it! It is so different and interesting!

They were so excited to try on the glasses, and referenced the Blue's Clues episode where Magenta gets glasses when they opened the package! The glasses are very durable- my kids extend the plastic far beyond what I assume is intended for glasses and they retain their shape amazingly. Great for pretend play. Love that all of the pieces can be contained in the original wood package- I don't have to go out and find a place to store all of the pieces. This held my kids' attention for a long time and we plan on keeping it for lots more pretend play!

They played with it for a few hours nonstop, but after that they haven't touched it. They liked playing "doctor" and I think it would be a fun little gift for a child looking towards their first eye appointment or needing glasses. I liked teaching them what each thing was for and helping them understand the importance of eyes, etc.

My daughter had some experience at the eye doctor but ended up not needing glasses, and my boys don't really understand this set at all. It's a great idea, but I just don't think it really "stuck" for our kids. Would definitely recommend to prep for kids glasses though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter was so excited to open this and pretend to play eye doctor. It was fun for the first couple minutes, but she quickly got bored with it. I wish there was an instruction card for her to look at to know what everything is and what it's used for. She does like trying on the glasses and looking in the mirror. We own a lot of M&D and I think this one was kind of a miss. It has fun elements but overall I think it could've been better thought out. If I hadn't received this for free I probably would not have bought it. The carrying case is very convenient for keeping everything together, I always appreciate that kind of packaging.

They opened it right away and didn't put it down even for dinner they wore the glasses while they ate. . After there bigger sister stopped playing they got their panda bear and monkey and had them playing optometrist. They played for hours. Definitely a toy I will recommend to friends ☺️

The plastic frames are super durable and will not snap with a three year old trying to over-extend them. The toys go nearly away in a box to store away when not playing with it. I honestly think my older kids may have liked this more because they've been for eye exams and understood the parts. My three year old loved the frames and seeing Blue's Clues. It's a super cute set that kept all three of my kiddos entertained.

She opened it and started playing right away. She said she would recommend to other kids (she is 6). I believe she is a good age for this toy. The only thing as a mom I could complain about is the lid to the wood box is hard for her to get on by herself however the storage box is amazing to store it away easy! It also has a handle to hold it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wooden Blue's Clues & You Time for Glasses play set is such a fun educational toy! My little one does not wear glasses but there are people in his life that do so it is a great tool to teach him about glasses! He even enjoyed getting his stuffed animals in on the action and gave them eye exams! The set comes with 4 pairs of plastic glasses (no lenses so they are great for play), a color changing eye exam device, an eye cover, 2 double sided exam cards, a cleansing cloth for the exam device, fake eye drops, and the wooden top has 2 different sides to play with. One side of the top has Blue and the other side has Magenta, both can wear glasses. There's also an exam chart which you can mark on, but there is no marker included so I'm not really sure if dry erase would work or just washable marker. The whole kit goes together and there's a rope handle on top which makes it easy to transport! The only con to this cute little set, in my opinion is the way it goes together. My little one tried to fold down the back piece and I fear others may try that and break it. Otherwise seems very well made and teaches kids that glasses aren't scary but can be a fun experience for everyone!!

They also enjoy the cute little color wheel, appointment card and patient info sheet. I believe there were 14 pieces total to set an optical or eye doctor visit. This set brought out their imagination for a short time but sadly it didn't hold their attention for as long as I would've hoped.
