This ball isn’t cheap in price but unfortunately it’s cheap in quality. I typically love Melissa and Doug toys but this ball is a disappointment. You can hardly hear the ball when it talks and it only talks about every 10th time it’s tossed. Unfortunately I can’t return it because it’s not in its original packaging….

The ball is a terrible toy. The motion activated unit has to be beaten to get to work. It's electronic box is positioned so that it can't be shielded so it bangs things. Would not recommend anyone buy this toy. I would have taken it back but we picked it up on vacation for our grandson and shipping it back to the store would cost more then we paid for it. We have bought dozens of their toys before so it was a big disappointment.

Soft, so when you toss, it will not hurt them. Some of the reviews I read before said they couldn't hardly hear the ABC and 123 sound, but it is plenty loud enough.

I sent this to a one year old for her birthday. She and her 2 year old sister were playing with it right away. I think it was a big hit from what their mom said.

First of all the battery container is ridiculous. Do you have a teeny tiny hex screwdriver? If not don’t buy this. Ended up just tearing out the battery box and will use as just a regular ball.

As the toy is for little ones, I understand the safety feature of the battery compartment/speaker being tucked away, but the fact that you can hardly hear the main feature of the ball, which is that it talks when thrown, negates the main feature of the toy. He still enjoyed throwing it, but the volume is so low, he didn't hear it talking once it left his hands.
