It’s double sided, my kiddo is on the spectrum and loves to line up things so this is one of those things we hide so it’s not overwhelming for him. If you want just one sided you have to get two sets. Not worth it. It’s definitely nice but not practical.

The letter boards come in two sided board so I have to help my 2 years old to flip and search letters. Not convenient at all. The boards and letters are in very good material quality (smooth wood).

The puzzle board is double sided so you can’t place all the pieces at once. Would not have gotten if I read the reviews and saw that.

Our set had a duplicate C/P piece and was missing the W (and another letter) piece. It’s incredibly hard for me to return or exchange this at a store—is it possible to be sent a replacement? Have never had a problem like this before with Melissa and Doug or Target.

Though the letters and boards are colorful and pleasant to look at, the boards are double sided. How is a little one supposed to arrange all the alphabets in one go?

Great quality. My grandson loves it. I wish beautiful wooden box came with cover to keep all letters and cards together, organized without loosing them. Cost me another $5 to buy storage box. And I had to transfer them all into my cheap looking container and get rid off beautiful wooden box:( Reason for 3 stars

I have 6 grandchildren and have purchased many Melissa and Doug products. This is the first one that I am truly disappointed in. The quality is fine, up to M & D standards but the design is difficult at best. I'm a retired elementary school teacher and this is a difficult puzzle for early learners. The puzzles are two sided and you have to flip the puzzle pieces to find the appropriate letters to fit. It is very frustrating for young ones and I find that they don't want to play with it.
