Be sure to use where there's plenty of LIGHT, as the music is cued by light! My 2-year-old granddaughter loves this song, so she loves the puzzle and is so cute boppin' along, singing and doing the motions. Puzzle is just right for her.

Here are a few important details to know about our sound puzzles: They’re light-activated, and once new batteries have been installed, it’s best to use the puzzle in a brightly lit room. When you remove a puzzle piece from the board, you’ll see a little circle, which is the light sensor. Depending on the style, once the sensor has been exposed to light, you’ll hear the sound OR when you place the puzzle piece back on the board. If playing with your puzzle in a well-lit room does not make each piece “sound off” consistently, please give us a call at 800 284 3948 and we'll be more than happy to help you. We love Melissa & Doug toys for our toddler! They are always great quality and cute. Our toddler loves the Wheels on the Bus song and this is a fun way to make it even more interactive in a different way. We thought ours stopped working at one point but it’s light activated so sometimes it doesn’t work if the lighting is too dim. Overall he loves it and I would recommend!

I was disappointed in the quality of product from Melissa and Doug recently. I bought this puzzle and when I unwrapped it the battery section had an issue with the spring that holds the batteries, so Target replaced it for me. But the second item only worked consistently for a week or so. I don’t know if I’ll be purchasing from this company again, which is sad because they were a mainstay in our household for years.

My 18 month old loves this puzzle. He has learned the song from playing with this. My only negative is that this puzzle is light activated so if you forget to turn it off at night and there is a piece not in place then the light coming through the window in the morning will set it off and make it start singing. I have woken up from hearing this start singing in the morning.

As others have mentioned it only works in bright light. Also, I feel like it backwards. Why would I want the song to play when the pieces are taken OUT?? He wants to put them in but then the song stops! We have another puzzle same brand that makes animal sounds as pieces go IN. This does not make him want to do the puzzle.

My 2 year old received this for her birthday and loves it. However, it stopped working after 2 days. I thought it was defective until I realized it doesn’t work in low light. The puzzle needs to be in a well lit room or next to a lamp for the sensors to work when the pieces are lifted off.
