This 8-piece peg puzzle for kids is sure to capture your little one's imagination! When kids place a vehicle puzzle piece correctly in the puzzle board they can listen to it toot, beep, or rumble! It includes eight great sounds and a full-color, matching picture beneath each of the eight wooden pieces. The puzzle pieces are sized just right for little hands and the puzzle measures 8.75 inches x 11.75 inches x one inch. (TIP: Puzzle has light-activated sensors; for best results, expose the sensor by removing a piece in a brightly lit room, then make the sound play by replacing the piece in the board.)

Th puzzle is good but the sound isn’t matching the puzzle itself it has a lag between switching trucks sound so I turned the sound off

Hi, Here are a few important details to know about our sound puzzles: They’re light-activated, and once new batteries have been installed, it’s best to use the puzzle in a brightly lit room. When you remove a puzzle piece from the board, you’ll see a little circle, which is the light sensor. Depending on the style, once the sensor has been exposed to light, you’ll hear the sound OR when you place the puzzle piece back on the board.

I hate to leave a bad review. Unfortunately, this item was not working upon arrival. I inserted brand new batteries into a brand new puzzle, right out of the packaging, and it did not make any sounds. I had to return it, but was not able to exchange it because there were not any other puzzles in stock. I normally love all Melissa and Doug products, and we use them frequently at our speech therapy clinic. However, I really need a puzzle that makes sound! I guess I got a bad one??? Was disappointed because their products were 30% off and I couldn't exchange it.

I own a much older sound puzzle from Melissa and Doug that works pretty well. This one has a switch on the back, to turn it on and off, but the sounds are very unreliable. Sometimes one picture makes a sound as you turn it on, then nothing else works. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this thing. I bought it for the sounds and they just aren't making it.

Overall it’s a cute puzzle for the kids but it made no noise when taking the pieces on or off. We let is sit and tried few times, even left the pieces off still nothing. It did make noise like twice which was random because the pieces was off and no one was playing with it. Couldn’t make sense of it not working correctly. My 2 year old loves it just because its a puzzle. Too bad the sound doesn’t work how it should. Don’t recommend to purchase for the price, no sound.

Cute puzzle, quality as expected for brand. 3 stars because the batteries were dead coming out of the package likely due to sitting in targets storage forever. My 2year old was terribly upset since he’s familiar with the noise puzzles and knew what is should do.

I purchased two Melissa and Doug puzzles for my child. My biggest problem with the puzzles were the fact that the edges were not smoothed and I was afraid that my child would get a splinter. Also neither puzzle worked properly. When the puzzle pieces were placed in Its correct spot the animals or cars would not make any sounds. Then the puzzles would randomly make noise when not being used

My almost 2 year old son who is obsessed with all wheels love this puzzle. Ever since I pulled it out, he’s taken apart and redone the puzzle over and over. It’s actually one of the first times he’s played independently. I need to change the batteries so the sounds don’t work but he still loves it and plays with it just as much. It’s not the best quality but worth it for keeping his attention for a long time.

This puzzle is currently sitting my garage until I can remove the battery in the morning. The noises go off when no one and nothing is around, and then when you are actually playing with it, half the time it doesn't make any noise, or the sound for another piece will go off instead. Not impressed, don't waste your money, unless you like to have your child wake up screaming because the siren from the fire truck went off while he was sound asleep.

My 2 year old loves this puzzle, however, the motorcycle piece never made news, so it was defective before we opened it. The rest of the pieces work fine, but for the price, all pieces should be making noise/not broken!

This is a very cute puzzle but works based on light so sometimes the wrong sounds will play and I have found the sound will even play if you shut the lights off when the puzzle isn't put together.
