Metabo HPT GP18DAQ4M MultiVolt 18V Brushless Lithium-Ion 2 in. Cordless Die Grinder (Tool Only)

I bought this almost a year ago, it has more power then my snap-on air die grinder. I use this all the time and has been very reliable and it doesn't seam to use the battery too fast. I would highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This die grinder is a beast. It does everything I ask of it and is smooth and quiet. I like the large gripping area of the front which allows for great control, but it's not too large that i can't fit it where I need to. The speed control offers great range for various tasks. Lastly, it is just much quieter and smoother than competing brand's non-brushless tools. I don't even like picking up those tools anymore for my grinding tasks.

I can do everything with this grinder I do with my corded Thos grinder has replaced my corded teal grinder. It has plenty of power for using burrs and grinding stones. Auto mode, variable speed and a brake are great features. Build quality is excellent as with all of my Metabo HPT tools.

I got this for $135 on Prime Day and got a rebate for a free 18/36V 8/4Ah which a great addition to my collection and opens the possibility of getting in the 36 V tools. The die grinder works well with no issues though I've only used it a bit. I love the variable speed for various metals and running small wire wheel slowly.

Gave up on my yellow and red brands after the quality dropped. I've used metabo grinders for years so I decided to give their cordless tools a try. Works like a dream and out powers and performs the competition.

Whenever I need this tool, I find it to be indispensable. It has plenty of power and the versatility of being cordless makes it worth owning. Being able to get into tight spaces has without the need for air has made the projects I've used this tool on so much better.

I have used this tool extensively on cleaning ornamental railing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this for a couple of weeks now. To give some background, my primary use for this tool is grinding strike plates on commercial door frames for those doors that latch too tight or don't latch at all. These plates are stainless steel, which anyone that works with knows is hard on tools and cutters. And indeed, the cutter bits are glowing red at the point of contact when working with this material. Which brings me to the power of this tool. This tool is designed for a maximum size of 2" diameter cutter, in contrast to many of the other brands which seem to hover around the 1" max cutter size for the cordless models. And boy can I feel a difference! Using this tool there is no perceivable drop in motor RPM even when going at it on the stainless steel plate, with the other brand there was a noticeable load put on the motor when doing the same task. It doesn't matter what speed setting I had it on, there just is gobs of power. So I would have to say that the primary selling point of this tool is cordless high power. I also like the orientation of the switch, easy to actuate with your thumb when holding the tool in both hands, and there is no way to accidentally start it up since it takes a two-part motion to turn it on. I originally was skeptical of the slide switch since I was used to variable speed trigger styles, but I have since decided this switch is superior as you don't have to worry about speed control with your finger, simply set the speed wheel and grind away. Another thing I like is the filter screen on the air intake to keep those metal chips out of the innards, very good addition. Now, a few complaints, most of them not major. I wish there was an LED light, this is my biggest complaint. I find myself having to don a headlamp in order to see what I am grinding. Something else I don't like but is probably nitpicking is that the battery is angled so the tool can't be stood straight up on a flat surface, I'm sure this is to prevent the tool getting knocked over but for my use case it's something that is lacking. I also would really like to see a belt clip as 95% of the time I'm using this tool I'm working off of a service cart, which I hang all of my drills, bandsaw, and other tools off of the edges of the cart. This grinder just has to lay awkwardly among the boxes and things on the bottom shelf of my cart as there's nowhere else to hang it. I understand that because this grinder is a bit bigger/heavier than the smaller ones a belt clip may be a bit overkill, but I digress. All in all this is an extremely useful tool, incredible power and performance for the price, and quality built to last for years!
