Q: Is this light bright enough for an elderly person to read by?

A: I am 94 and I use this lamp 12 hours a day, every day. If I need stronger light, I just pull it closer to what I want to see. Normally it is centered over the table beside my chair.

A: It is very clever: about a 24" thin gooseneck, with two movable thin sleeves over it. Thus it flexes at both ends and the middle. Like a gooseneck it can bend in any direction at the flexible points.

Unlike lamps with hard bodies that have actual separate pieces to swivel like architect lamps, this lamp does not have that. You can still adjust the lamp left or right by bending the lamp neck to the left or right angle but it will not have a true swivel. Thank you for your inquiry.

For The Price. It Is Made Of All Plastic Materials. The Clamp Doesn't Stay Put. It Falls Apart. The Light Part Limps Down Due To The Cheap Plastic Material. I Purchased The $8 Target Desk Lamp Instead.

So when I took it out of the box I was worried because it looked kind of like those cheap wish products but oh boy when I turned that bad boy on it lit my room brighter than a Wiz Khalifa concert. I use it to take product pictures and it works amazingly. I recommend you point it downward for the best results.

Love this lamp. I put it over a vanity mirror so I can see clearly when putting on my make-up in the morning. It clamped easily onto the table, and the lamp stays steady as a rock. The light is natural and bright without having to stare into a lightbulb. And it extends over the whole vanity mirror. It’s also very graceful and attractive. Good price, too. Love it!!!

I bought this to use in my bathroom for a little more brightness while I'm putting on my makeup. It serves its purpose well, and I like the fact that the long arm is adjustable and easy to bend. My only complaint would be that the clamp looks a little cheap - it is plastic painted in silver, not an actual metal clamp.

Very good looking lamp for the money, but I needed the neck to be quite stiff and to remain in the arc I placed it and it just wanted to fall over.
