Modern Sprout DIY Seedball Kit

Very straightforward instructions and easy to use for anyone. There’s a variety of different seed kits you can purchase. I ended up buying more of these to put in my children’s Easter baskets. Such a fun way to get anyone interested in gardening and especially simple and fun for kids to learn about seed life cycle and germination!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This would be a cool project for kids with a parents help. Packaging is cute and comes with 3 different flower packets, clay and instructions. There was some difficulty trying to mix the clay and soil together, so I added water halfway through. Seeds looked similar from all 3 packs and I wasn't quite sure if you were supposed to stick them on or in the balls. I pushed them in a bit. They dried in about 2 days, but I'm not too sure it is ideal weather conditions to start them where I live. A couple weeks after planting and nothing yet. A couple seeds fell inside some plain soil, which I had covered with a plastic bottle, well 1 seed sprouted. Honestly, feel like if you just get a pack of flower seeds, sprinkle with water, you'd be better off.

You will need the following items which most everyone will have around the house: One Cup Soil, Mixing Bowl, Newspaper and an Old Box or Baking Tray. Instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. Overall a great kit!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seed ball kit comes in a cute packaging and contains easy to read instructions. It is a creative way to get a child into gardening. You mix seeds with clay and then you plant the clay balls. It seems a little excessive if you just wanna plant some seeds. I was a bit disappointed when I noticed several stickers on the underneath stating they were packed for 2025, but when peeled away, the sticker below said packed for 2024. Old seeds don’t always germinate, so it seems like they were just trying to get rid of some stock.

This kit comes with everything to get you started including a few items already in your house. This kit is definitely kid friendly and entertaining experience even with older teens. I'm excited to see how fast they grow and add color to the house. I would definitely recommend and purchase again.

I received this as part of a grab bag for Christmas. I really loved the idea and the fact that it was an activity as well as. However there were so few seeds provided to make any real number of balls. That was disappointing and not many sprouted.

I wasn’t expecting anything to grow based on the reviews. I am new to gardening so I did this as a way to start learning to garden since it is a kit. I followed the directions to a T. The only thing I may have done differently is that I put them in small pots inside the house in a sunny area before I transfer them outside. I divided the pots according to each seed packet. Within a day or so, the hummingbird seeds started sprouting! And now all have started sprouting after a few weeks. This really does work!!

So far, the process for making the seed balls has been quite fun! After reading the previous reviews, I understand why it comes with so few seeds. The only part I’m sad about it the lack of sprouts. I’ve planted both the vegetable (pizza) collection and the wildflower collection and neither set has amounted to any sprouts. I’ve watered them daily now and haven’t seen anything after 3 weeks. I’m not sure if it’s me or the seeds at this point but I’m still hoping something will pop up as we’ve been way past frost season for awhile now.

Seeds did not bloom at all! So sad.
