About this item
Highlights
- The six inputs are 2-channel stereo, with four line level inputs using RCA jacks, one input on a 3.5mm TRS jack, and a Toslink digital optical input. A separate PA input allows you to override selected audio material and broadcast a single audio source to each connected zone. Additionally, a mute input allows you to mute each output channel using a single source trigger. Each output channel features an amplifier that is capable of delivering 50 watts/channel into a 4ohm load or 25 watts/channel into an 8-ohm load. Each amplifier can be individually bridged to produce 100 watts into an 8ohm load. The amp uses Euroblock connectors for the speaker level outputs, which takes less space than push-grip connector terminals. The Euroblock connectors can accept speaker wire up to 12AWG and can be removed from the amplifier for easier installation.
- Each output channel also features RCA line-level output jacks, allowing you to use a separate, more powerful amplifier in any output zone or to send the audio to a self-amplified component, such as a television display. Each zone is independently controlled at the zone using a wallplate keypad with lighted, soft-touch buttons. The keypads connect to the main unit using Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. Each keypad features an infrared eye, which can propagate single-band IR remote control signals to individual IR transmitters connected to the master controller. This allows you to control the source devices from each zone using their native remote controls.
- The controller features 12 volt trigger outputs for each distribution zone, plus a master trigger for the entire system. This allows you to activate automated devices, such as lowering a projection screen or dimming the lights whenever the system as a whole, or an individual zone, is activated.
- Up to three master controllers can be connected together to provide a massive 6x18 matrix, with audio source and control information passed between master controllers using the included 18-pin ribbon cable. The master controller can accept 115V and 230V inputs. The voltage selector switch is covered to prevent it from being accidentally changed. The master controller features an RS232 serial input, which lets you program a computer for automated control. A complete list of RS232 commands and codes, including status reporting commands, is included in the manual. The package includes a 19 inch rack mount kit.
- Package Contents: 1x MPR-SG6Z master controller/amplifier, 6x keypad controllers, 1x keypad in-wall hub connection plate, 1x infrared remote control, 1x expansion ribbon cable, 1x rack mounting kit, 1x AC power cord (IEC 60320 C13 to NEMA 5-15), 1x user's manual.

Works fine no problems. However it comes with 1 remote for 6 zones. Which I find is not enough considering where some of the controllers had to be placed. Since Monoprice No Logoed the manufacturer of the device I incorrectly assumed Monoprice would support the item they sold. Not a chance. Asked support for a source to buy addition remotes and there response was basically not our problem. BUY IT FROM A COMPANY THAT CARES. They are available under a number of names. I also found an old ad showing Monoprice selling the same remote, ha! I like Monoprice for their products but shipping issues and support are BIG problems for me.

This unit suited the needs for a church install with multiple zones of audio. Everything worked fine for 2 days then the unit would not power on. Changed fused but still nothing. 10 ceiling speakers are installed with audio connections going to unit. Nothing outside of the instructions but unit will not powe rback on. This is a hard pass for me and any future clients.

This controller had an unbeatable price point and worked perfectly as advertised for a few months before we awoke one night at 3am to our speakers popping maniacally at full volume until we could scramble to the unit to shut it off. Monoprice support walked me through a number of troubleshooting steps like power cycling, double-checking speaker connections and impedances, and reconfiguring the RS232 adapter. The next time I turned the unit on, the issue did not reoccur, and wouldn't for several more months. But eventually, it did, and when it did, we had been out of the house and came home to the three enabled channels having torched all six of their connected speakers' voice coils, reducing what was probably the explosive popping we heard previously to a feeble tap punctuated by the classic 60hz buzz. (It’s not hard to imagine how, if the speakers were a few decades older and a few shades more flammable, we could have come home to an altogether different scenario.) At this point, we were two weeks past the unit's warranty expiration, and Monoprice customer service conveniently suggested for the first time that the unit now qualified as defective, two weeks past eligibility for a replacement under warranty. Once that was communicated to me, customer service stuck to (1) offering basic troubleshooting tips and (2) advise that I seek repair from a professional technician, in lieu of any explanation or suggestions as to what was actually wrong with the unit. Bad luck? Clever timing in the identification of defective unit behavior? I can’t call it - but at least I got seven relatively expensive paperweights out of the deal and I can certainly categorize the lesson learned as, if nothing else, valuable.

Bought this to replace a 6 zone NRC amp which failed. Fidelity and power not as good, but works adequately. Havent figured out if there are any wireless control options but it works well manually with what is provided. The Remote control logic is taking awhile to figure out. If the ethernet wiring had been installed(the NRC used the Niles app so only speaker wired was installed previousl) the remote room control would be great.

Bought this multizone amp to replace my JBL system. What a big difference. This amp is so superior and its great to have bass and high end options in each zone.. It was very easy to setup. Its worth the money especially if you get it when its on sale.

I've had this amp for about two years and thought the static might go away after it broke-in but it didn't. The issue- easiest to hear when nothing is playing' hissing and pops. Pops can be heard when playing but not as bad. Yes, I should have contacted support for replacement, my bad.

Easy to set up and it works well. I would like to see a couple more features, like the ability to mute the entire system (or even one zone) from the keypad. The serial port interface works as advertised and seems robust. I wish there was a good iOS app for controlling the system, I?ve found a few but they are somewhat generic. It gives me an excuse to try and write a custom app myself :-). All in all, it works as advertised and functions easily with the keypads. As for the price, it may seem high, but I?ve been looking for a system like this for a while and I think with the keypads included, it?s a great value and comes with everything you need.

I've been looking for a perfect system to control all the in-house speakers. This system was exactly that with a few additions to create it wifi capable, I have no complaints.

We totally love this system. Each 6 zones can select any of 6 input sources and each have their own independent bass, treble, balance and volume control. Installation was easy and we terminated our own CAT6 connections. We added a wall hanging rack mount system so that the unit would be up and out of the way. Sounds great and works perfectly! Wireles remote works great and we like the ability to control a projector screen if needed. Download the instructions and see what it all can do, we love it!

I really love the built in wifi streamer! Makes it so easy to play music from anywhere in my house! I setup a wall mounted iPad which I can stream from or a connected TV source.

Honestly blown away at the value of this kit. I put this in a horse arena to cover multiple zones for audio and this really did the trick. Budget minded this truely is but not lacking. It weighs quite a bit and looking through the vents the amp coils look excellent. The manual could he better as there are more features this can handle than they explain.
Good amplifier for the price point. Some ducking occurs with heavy bass.

Solid amplifier and it serves it?s purpose well. I have 4 sources connected to my amplifier, 2 Sonos Ports (Version 2) and 2 Google Chromecast Audio devices. Basically each device is labeled 1-4 which helps identify which box to stream to as well as which source to select. My only negative is the low-end/mid-range quality. As it stands, there is considerable ducking when any low ends are mixed with mids. An example would be a long running bass-line causes the volume to duck considerably. This kinda stinks as you have to turn the volume up when a song with a heavy bass plays or down if the song consists of mostly highs and mids. Unfortunately I do not have any other amplifiers to test this ?ducking? behavior with so I can only attribute it to the amplifier itself, but when I can identify the culprit, I will come back and update this review.

Replaced my 15 year old dead Nuvo 6-zone system. This is defiantly an upgrade!. Audio quality is great and having an optical input is great. I added the IP connection and I can now control the device from home. Wonderful! I have it paired with a number of devices: an Amazon Link, Marantz home theater (connected to zone 2 so all audio in the home theater can also go to the whole house as well.

This is unbelievably frustrating. I ordered two of these to replace a Russound system that was left by the previous owner of my home. I was initially really happy with this system. However, one of the keypads was defective. I contacted monoprice support and they told me I had to go remove all 5 (I'm guessing they meant 6) of the other ones and send them all back just to get one replaced. So ridiculous. If this is the kind of support I get for this product, I'm really questioning my decision to purchase it.
