It works... Usually

For the most part, this KVM works well enough. I find that sometimes it fails to recognize my wireless Logitech keyboard and the mouse gets a bit wonky with some applications, but this usually only happens on one machine, so it might be a driver issue. One other machine does not always recognize the monitor, but if I reboot the KVM, that seems to clear it up. Overall it serves it's purpose, but it can get a bit flakey at times.

Tv remote will cause it change computers. USB has to be reset to get it to respond when you switch PCs. It seems to be getting worse.
Nice display port kvm.

Pros - I like the auto switching when you turn on a machine. Cons - sometimes the monitor doesn't show anything so the unit has to be reset.

This works well with a Samsung 49-inch Odyssey G9, and supports the max resolution 5120x1440@240hz Tested with: Windows Desktop (GTX970) Windows Laptop (Integrated Intel) System 76 (PopOS / Linux) Macbook M1 Here are some tips: - My computers didn't detect the display's refresh rate at 240hz, just 120 or lower, so set you desired resolution on your machine and then go into the Samsung Monitor settings and change refresh rate to 240hz - If you don't use 240hz, you will get a flickering on the video output on lower hz - Use DisplayPort cables - Use the front two USB ports to avoid the weird mouse switching issue - The beeping is loud - The lights are kinda bright, put some masking tape over it to make it less bright - I bought USB-C to DisplayPort for the laptops, since that provides the best option for video quality - I bought USB-C to USB-B (most newer laptops dont have USB-C), that's been working out fine

Several problems prevent this product from being excellent. With my keyboard and mouse plugged into the Blackbird, I cannot access the BIOS setup on the connected computer. I don't really know why. Perhaps the unit does not switch on fast enough when the computer is turned on. The mouse and keyboard have to be unplugged from the Blackbird and plugged into the computer directly, then the computer will respond to the 'Delete' key being pressed to enter the setup menu. The automatic switching of inputs doesn't work for me. When a computer is booted up the input of the Blackbird doesn't change. This isn't too big of a problem since the front panel buttons can easily be reached in my setup. The green indicators show that the computers are on when they are not hence they don't serve any real purpose. I suppose that this really indicates the the USB is still energized when the computer is off, but I expect that most desktop computers are like this. When the mouse is moved to the right side of the screen, as it is when going over to my second monitor, the Blackbird sometimes changes unexpectedly to another computer which may actually be off. I wish this feature could be turned off. The Blackbird doesn't seem to like my cordless Logitech mouse. It would have to be rebooted often when changing inputs. The mouse would freeze or disappear entirely. I have had to switch to a corded USB mouse which works reliably. All in all, this is a pretty good unit for the price and I am glad that I purchased it.

The switch buttoms on teh front are very handy. The size is acceptable. The ONLY issue Ive had is using a logitech dongle and it switching correctly every time. I switch at least 5-8 times a day. At least one of those switch times, I either have to turn the mouse off\on, or switch the PC's a few times through the button. It does work most of the time but it can be annoyiong at times. I have tried all the usb ports and keyboard\mouse ports. That being said I will keep this switch. The display and keyborad so far, have switched every time.
Almost perfect

I bought a Smart AVI UHDN-4P about 2 years ago for $400+ and it stopped working. The audio jacks never worked, and when connected to a Mac, I had to unplug/plug the HDMI cable to make it work. I decided to try Blackbird model 42644 from Monoprice, recommended by a co-worker. Pros for the Blackbird: - It's only $120. A lot less than the $400+ SmartAVI that didn't work. - It switches between 2 of my Mac Book Pros, and my Dell laptop with CentOS (linux). - It's very small, so it takes up a lot less space than the Smart AVI. - Comes with a remote and IR sensor. Not sure what it's for, since I'm about 5" from the KVM. Maybe for presentations? - The audio jack switches just fine. - I have an external USB camera connected to it and it switches just fine too. - It switches when you drag and hold the mouse off the left or right of the screen. This is a pro and con. It's a pro, because my hand is on the mouse all the time, and I can switch computers without having to remove my hand off the mouse. And it doesn't beep if you switch computers this way. Cons: - The beep is very loud, but there's supposed to be a way to shut it off. It would be nice if the beep wasn't so loud. - The USB cables the come with the KVM are very short - about 3'. I like to route the cables neatly around my desk. Having 3' to work with, forced me to cross over directly to my third computer. This can be resolved via extension cable, but would be nice if the cables were 4' or longer. - I have 3 laptops with 15" screens and a shared 42" 4K monitor, so when the computer is switched to the shared monitor, the resolution automatically switches to the higher resolution, and the computers not connected are switched to the lower resolution. If the computer does not change resolutions, the shared monitor does not show anything. So, sometimes, I have to close the laptop and re-open it. Might be a problem with the laptop and not the KVM. - Because the KVM switches when you move the mouse off the left or right of the screen, you can inadvertently switch computers.

Works great with my setup: 4 devices - Win 10 PC desktop, Win 11 PC laptop, MacBook Pro, Linux laptop. I had to shop around for the DP and audio cables, and some USB 3.0 extenders (the OOB were a bit short for what I needed), connecting via DP port to 3 monitor linked via DP Daisy chain (2 ThinkVision @ 2560x1440 + 1 ViewSonic @ 1920x1080) - if the device's video card supports it. The one minor issue, reported by others as well is the mouse traverse "feature", which in the daisy chain multi-monitor configuration I have is a big hassle as it won't allow the mouse to traverse the monitors. So, I had to get used to the idea that I'm losing a USB port (repurposed for the mouse). If this could be "fixed" via a firmware update, I'll give 5 stars without hesitation.
Does the job, but has annoying "features"

This KVM does a good job of connecting multiple devices that use DisplayPort to a single DisplayPort or HDMI monitor. The mouse or keyboard can be plugged into the front USB ports if you want to avoid the "hot" functions. There are two behaviors that really ruin this KVM... The first is that the CONTROL key also acts as a hot switch key. This interferes when using CTRL-Click to select files. This can't be disabled. The second is that when you turn a device on or off, the KVM will switch inputs. This would be OK if there was a way to disable this auto switching.
If it worked it would be great

The shipping was fast and the product _looked_ good. I set it up and thought everything was going great for 10 seconds. No matter what input I have selected, it switches to the other one after a few seconds. I contacted support to get a refund on the product and have never heard back.
Supports switching to PCs that have gone to sleep

I was excited to see a Displayport 1.4 KVM switch with USB 3.0 for under $100 that is supported by a company in the US. I wanted a switch that supports 144Hz and Gsync. I'm happy to report this one does that. This being said, I really picked this switch because Monoprice told me it would support the ability for PCs to wake up when I switch back to them after they've gone to sleep. Switches at this price point generally do not do this. When the switch arrived, I confirmed that it does somehow manage to pull this off - PC wakes up, as they said it would. (There is no mention of this feature in the product literature.) All was great until... I started playing games. The mouse was not functional (limited range of motion) and the KVM switch would switch to the other PC on it's own. When I contacted Monoprice, they suggested getting a replacement. The replacement did the same thing. I continued troubleshooting on my own and determined the mouse port on the switch (there are dedicated keyboard and mouse ports to provide some pretty cool switching functions) is flaky. In fact, my mouse software would not recognize the mouse, if plugged into that port. However, if I plug the mouse into one of the standard USB 3.0 ports, all is well, except for the fact that the switching features triggered by the mouse are not available and I have a wasted a USB port (the dedicated mouse port does not function as a standard USB port). Hence, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. All-in-all, I'm really happy with the switch so far, predominantly because it supports waking the PCs. However, the keyboard commands to switch PCs (i.e. no need to use IR remote) are a big plus.
All reviews here have the "mouse locked to screen" issue wrong

So, the mouse "screen locking" on a multi-monitor setup. People apparently don't get the intended function. The intended function of this device: If I track my mouse off to the right of the screen, it switches the display, peripherals, and sound to the corresponding next computer. If I track it to the left edge of the screen, it switches the display, peripherals, and sound to the previous. When using two computers on two separate monitors(DP cables plugged directly into the monitors, not into the KVM switch), the KVM treats them as "I track the mouse off the screen, it switches to the previous/next machine". For that purpose, it seems as if it "locks" the mouse to the single display of one machine. Tracking from one monitor to another actually flawlessly switches the input from one computer to the other, WHILE MAINTAINING THE POSITION ON THE SCREEN EDGE. Meaning: If I have one computer set up on my left monitor, plugged into port one, and a second computer set up on my right monitor and plugged into port two, and I push my mouse to the right edge of the left screen 2/3 of the way up, it will resume the mouse at the same corresponding position(2/3 of the vertical) on the left screen, which is a different computer. That's what this is meant for. Not multi-monitor setups on the same machine. If you want a multi-monitor setup on the same machine, no point buying this. Just get a peripherals KVM or a 4x2 KVM and not this. I am currently running this on a double Ultrawide setup(two monitors at 3440x1440 UWQHD with my personal computer on the left monitor and my work computer on the right monitor. Switching between the two is flawless. I track my mouse to the right edge of my personal computer and it switches all inputs to the work computer with maybe a single millisecond of delay - barely noticeable. When using a single monitor and having both computers' DP cables plugged into their respective sockets, it switches the screen & inputs instantly when I track off-screen. I highly recommend this product for anyone running a multi-machine setup - NOT a multi-monitor setup(this is a very niche market. You may not need it unless you have several machines that you need to use at the same time). In regards to the mouse tracking scaling changes that a lot of people are referring to: I play a lot of FPS games and MOBA games, and as such, am very sensitive to when my DPI is being messed with. I have not had any problems at all with the mouse being plugged into the intended "mouse port: on the back of the KVM vs the USB peripherals ports on the front. TL;DR if you want to run multiple machines on multi-monitor setups, buy a 2x2(2 devices, two outputs) KVM switch - not even sure if these exist - and not this one, which is a 4x1(four devices, two outputs). I personally love it, but it's a very niche buy.

The KVM market is a brutal beast. Filled with crap products / no name brands. I had hoped this would be the one stop solution for my needs: -Allow switching between 4 computers -Support 1440p monitor at higher than 60Hrz -Just works The KVM does this. But there are some definite drawbacks that potential buyers should consider: 1) You cannot disable to the switching beep sound or any of the LED lights on the unit. 2) The KVM is large, because it supports antiquated functionality like dedicated PC speaker / mic ports and IR functionality. Both I cannot imagine many using in 2021. 3) Mouse USB port on the rear? Is essentially unusable. It tracks mouse movements incorrectly. And will NOT let the mouse travel off the monitor the KVM is outputting, to the laptop I am duel screening with next to it. That is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. (-1 Stars). Saving grace: It still does all 3 things I needed it to do. It works well doing them. But the mouse USB input nonsense? Crazy. As result? I am forced to use one of the 2 USB ports on the front for mouse functionality. Which is lame. Would I buy again? Absolutely. The shortcomings are annoying. But is still a solid product over-wise and will meet a wide spectrum of users needs. Just wish they hadn't botched the USB mouse port.

Does not work properly - no audio; won't display maintain a display from my Quadro P2000 video card, and usb connections are somewhat flaky. Had tro order a more expensive KVM from elsewhere and will try to deal with Customer Service tomorrow. Extremely disappointed as I undid my previous configuration for this "upgrade: - but it simply does not work as it was described and some of the ports simply do not work at all.
Re-branded Tripp-lite KVM B005-HUA4

As the review says, this is a re-branded Tripp-Lite B005-HUA4 KVM. I would highly recommend against this KVM. The labeled keyboard and mouse ports are USB 1.0, and cannot keep up with a high dpi mouse or a scroll wheel. I was unable to use my G15 keyboard with this KVM as it didn't have the juice to even power it up, and it corrupted the mouse inputs due to trying to maintain it's edge tracking for switching features. Also, I have found that the audio passthru from input did not work at all, as there appears to be a grounding issue on the 3.5mm jacks. When you plug in your speakers to the output, whether in the front or the back, you get a HEAVY buzz, and I did not get audio to actually come through. If you use the mouse in the keyboard and mouse input ports rather than the front USB ports, also be prepared for a surprise, as if you do any kind of gaming the 'user-friendly' switching, where you run over the edge of the monitor with the mouse, will switch inputs on you mid-game. If you are using an ultrawide 21:9 monitor, even if it's smaller than 4k, don't bother with this KVM, it will not pass through that aspect ratio. If you put an input at any resolution with 16:9, it should work.

First the mouse tracking change is intolerable. Tracking seems to be based on letterbox ratio somehow. My mouse tracks three times speed left to right as up to down. Second, the selector buttons on the front do nothing but switch the little blue LED that is lit from one to the other. It tries to do some slick thing that when you hit one edge of the screen. This does not even come close to working so you are forced to wait while your input is ignored and the screens flash. The KVM task is simple. Switch my screen and input between devices. The protocol should be implemented so that the display information is always sent to the computer to keep the new display event from firing every time I switch. If you want kvm that functions avoid this item.
