About this item
Highlights
- Classic Styling: Look like a King with the classic styling of performance microphones from the 40s & 50s. Sound like a King with the modern dynamic microphone technology with a supercardioid polar pattern.
- Shock Mounted: The internal microphone element is shock-mounted to prevent handling and stage noise from interfering with your performance or recording. Janky stage setups and grabby audience paws won't interfere with your performance.
- Die-Cast Housing: The die-cast zinc metal housing is nearly indestructible and will last longer than most bands.
- Supercardioid Polar Pattern: Take command of your sound with the supercardioid polar pattern, which rejects feedback from nearby monitors and loud PA systems.
- High-quality zinc die-cast housing. High output dynamic cartridge for big, powerful sound. Supercardioid polar pattern for reduced feedback during live performances. Pop-free locking on/off switch. Protective case included.

Q: Thank you for your question! This microphone uses a standard XLR cable so you will need to hook it up to a USB mixer that is plugged into the Hp in order for it to work.
submitted by Monoprice - 5 years ago
A: This is a correct answer.

Q: Does this work with HP Pavillion desk top computer
submitted by Lin - 5 years ago
A: The microphone is connected via an XLR cable. As long as a signal can be sent through an XLR cable, then it should work just fine.

This microphone is praised for its stylish retro look and solid construction, making it a great addition to any collection. It delivers good sound quality for its price, though it has some limitations with plosives and stand compatibility. Ideal for casual use, it may not be suitable for live performances due to its weight and sensitivity to movement.

It's not an SM58, it's not a Shure, it's a great little microphone once you learn it's weaknesses. Any chrome mic is for show, this one has little to stop plosives but with an angle to the mic, you'll like it once you find the sweet spot.

It is a beautiful mic that weighed 2 lbs 6 oz. I think it might work for a sit-down, casual talk/podcast type of mic. I wanted it for live performance and because it Popped really badly when I got close enough to get a decent sound out of the PA, it picked up all kinds of mic stand noise from just moving around on stage and the switch Popped really loudly when activated. I returned the mic as it was useless to me for a live band situation.

Coupled this with a chrome Atlas straight stand and chrome 6? gooseneck (to move it out a bit, so my bass doesn?t bump into it). The total package gives me the look I was going for. Mic itself suffers from some ?POP?. Might open it up and add a thin layer of foam. As of now I just back off a bit. Pretty happy with it and I get a lot of comments. Our female vocalist keeps trying to take it from me !
Decent mike for the price.

The mike works as I expected, and really looks good. A bit heavy though. Best without a boom, or a very short one.
Doesn't fit on my mic stand

Doesn't fit on my mic stand even with the adapter. The threaded hole for the mic stand is too close to the cable jack! I'm looking for another adapter but I may return this one if I can't find a solution.

I use this in my music room for testing acoustic amps. I looks great on a chrome stick stand. My only issue is the female XLR jack in the bottom of it is too close to the mounting hole so there is interference on some of my larger XLR cable connectors. So I have to select a certain style cable from my stash to fit it into the mike when it is stand mounted.

It comes in a heavy-duty case and delivers that Memphis sound straight out of the box. The only downside is it won't work with most mic stands due to the XLR jack being too close to the treads. You'll have to remove the star fitting that tightens mics up. Luckily I had one but most folks don't have old stands sitting around as I do. The mic is also very heavy so keep that in mind if you're looking for a stand.

Decent Condenser Microphone

Very stylish and well constructed. Comes in a nice plastic case with fitted foam inserts to hold it securely in transit. It is a dynamic condenser microphone ands has its limitations. Lots of mid range and significant high end but very little bottom. Sound field is very directional and short. Make sure you have a sturdy stand with a heavy base. The Memphis Blue is easily toppled if you don't set it up correctly. Decent microphone for the money. Won't replace an SM58 or my Heil ribbon microphone.
