Q: I purchased this cups but the liquid will not come out is there a trick to get them to work Thank You

  • A: When I called customer service I was advised to massage and squeeze the valve to break the seals in the straw. Then the liquid sucks up easier. It's in the instructions that come with the cups. The reason is because the valve in the steaw is what makes the cup leak proof and it has to be manually loosened.

Q: How do I get the straw in the cup

submitted by Linda - 6 years ago
  • A: Good morning, To property remove and replace the straw to all of our flip top straw cups, including your Munchkin Click Lock 9oz Flip Straw Cup you must remove the flip top from the cup lid. The flip top can be “wiggled” out of its side slots and then taken out of the lid. This may require a little force at first, yet it will not damage the cup. Once the flip top is removed the straw can easily be removed and replaced.

Love this! Leak proof. My daughter is weaning from breastfeeding and she doesn’t like regular bottles. So I tried this bottle bc it states it’s Leak proof. It’s true. Make sure you read directions before use to get it to work properly. A lot of people skip that.

Doesn’t leak! Tried so many others & this is best. I’m actually getting more! I think the bad reviews just need to read the instructions. All leak proof straw cups have a valve inside - you need to squeeze to break the seal before first use. (It’s in the instructions.) My preemie twins with feeding difficulties have no problems with this cup. This way easier to clean and put together than most baby cups or bottles. Just take off the flip top part before pushing the straw through! (Also in the instructions.) We take apart & clean every night & never had any mold. The straw does come apart so it’s easy to clean. And it’s dishwasher safe!

People are oblivious to "leak-proof"

This cup is great! Reading the bad reviews on this product from other parents makes me think they don’t know what a leak-proof cup is… there is a valve inside the straw to keep liquid from just pouring out, hence why it is “hard” to drink from. You have to apply pressure to that valve while drinking from the straw to get anything out. You usually have to squeeze the area where the valve is before letting your child use a leak-proof cup so that it loosens the seal a little. And this cup is a breeze to put back together after fully disassembling for washing… I don’t know where everyone is confused about that part either. You twist the cap off, pull the flip cover off, pull the straw out and apart, wash everything and air dry then reassemble. When reassembling put the flip cover on last - don’t try to shove the straw through the flip cover. It’s not rocket science people! Great cup for $2.99!

Tops and straws are very difficult for me and other adults to take apart for cleaning. Straws are difficult to suck through. Tried these cups out on four different children ages 2-3 and all the kids had difficulty and became frustrated trying to drink from them. The only positive was they didn’t leak. I will be returning these cups and will not purchase any more. Poor design.

Grabbed one of these at our local target when my 1yo broke his munchkin weighted straw cup, which were sold out. he LOVED this. for some reason, something about the bottle design piqued his desire to prefer it over his other straw cup with handles. I went back and got a second one soon after. I don't get the other reviews as it is not hard to clean at all - just pull out the top latch, silicone straw, and bottom straw, brush and rinse, then piece back together. it takes maybe 5-10 more seconds to clean than the weighted straw cups. we have never had an issue with mold because we clean it daily.

It’s impossible to get any water out even as an adult. The straw is impossible to get back into the lid so now I’m stuck with a cup without a lid. What a waste of money

Agree with most of the comments: great initially but once you take the straws out to wash they’re impossible to get back in and the straws are so difficult to sip out of, which is a no-no for proper oral development.

I would normally give this product 5 stars. Absolutely no leaking and I can close it. However, it is very hard to clean the straws, and when I pulled down on the silicone there was a TON of mold in a piece that cannot be fully removed.

These cups are okay. They leak right after filling (if you leave it sit and it isn’t drank right away) and it leaks after sitting for a while. I also prefer cups that keep beverages cool.

This is the only sippy cup I’ve found that I DON’T have an issue of leaking with. My 1 and 2 year old can easily hold and drink from them. The straws wear over time, but for the price I’m happy to purchase every year or so. They are our every day cups! We take them fully apart every night to clean.

I’m surprised of the bad reviews! I currently have 1, but have a hard time finding more in the store. Don’t over tighten the top or it WILL leak. We have tried many cups and we keep going back to this one.

I feel like I’ve tried a dozen cups for my kid. I stumbled upon these, individually priced at $1.24 and thought why not? BEST CUP EVER. Easy to drink from, dishwasher safe, holds a lot of water, slim design fits in cup holders and little kid’s hands, and they are cheap. I have absolutely no issues and would highly recommend. It boggles my mind why these have been rated so poorly by others.

Our favorite sippy cups

These are our favorite cups hands down. I prefer the sippy cups with soft straws and I like that the pieces for these cups are interchangeable. If you tighten them to the click we usually don’t have an issue with leaks and the straws hold up pretty well considering our kids like to chew on them sometimes. Overall I think these cups have the best value.

So far I’ve really liked these. They don’t leak for me and are easier to clean than other cups. That said, the straw is hard to take in and out since you have to disconnect the cap

We had this, seemingly, same straw cup in pink and my 2-year-old loves it. She's about to start daycare again so I wanted to get one to keep it daycare and I got another one of these in purple. But the part that connects the straw inside to the outside straw is different than the original one we got. This new one that we just purchased it is so incredibly difficult to suck anything out of it. I as an adult was having a hard time sucking any water out of this thing. So disappointing; and I opened it and threw away the packaging and then washed it before we figured out that it doesn't work. So that's money in the garbage. DO NOT buy this product.
